The room smelled like cigarettes even though is was a non smoking room. Also the towels and bed sheets smelled of cigarettes. The breakfast room was not very nice looking and the western style breakfast poor. The view was nice and the room was big. Location is very good.

Excellent concierge team. The front desk and all the colleagues went above and beyond! We arrived on 5th July. Our child felt unwell from the travelling. The hotel staff was very helpful in helping us find a hospital who would offer outpatient appointments without pre-booking. She helped to get us a taxi. They are a credit to their employer. Nice and clean hotel room. Lovely breakfast buffet. Perfect location. A++++

Vicki at front desk was superb! Excellent location. Rooms are great. Actually took a suite with separate room for a week so I could see clients in private. Booked again with a smaller room when it was just me. Only improvement, please give spoons to make morning coffee and a little bit more in the gym would be excellent. Suggest some rubber bands, yoga mats, 3x kettle bells & fix the rower machine, if you did that, this would be one of the best hotel gyms in Shanghai near this price point.

Location is excellent, walkable to several shopping centres. The big bed and two single beds are perfect for our family.

We spent at this hotel 8 days. Convenient location to Shanghai tower. Metro is right across the street and in 10 minutes next to Shanghai tower. Pretty good breakfast, if pay through wechat will be cheaper 80 per person. Cleaning up to your wish. If you use do not disturb- no one will keep trying get inside. If we need something- we just ask and in 5 minutes everything is done. Suggest to use.

Very average hotel...I didn't sleep well I imagine this price should offer better quality

Check in and check out was smooth, location was great to access both public transportation and taxi. Interior of hotel is a bit outdated, still room was tidy and cleaning was done at satisfying level every day. However we had some noise from other rooms like playing an instrument and chatting sound. The towels of bathroom had slight cigarette smell, it would be great if the hotel can take care of it.

The property is conveniently located and have easy access to subway and shopping. The breakfast variety is great and love the hot noodle / wonton station. Room is clean and well organized... except the hot water is a little sketchy.

My usual hotel when i goto Shanghai, and i do go often. Great gym, great location, nice comfortable room. I stay here all the time.

Really nice and comfortable room in the French concession area. Spacious and clean. Location convenient for restaurants and shopping, and next to metro.

The location was great and they were helpful with keeping our extra luggage downstairs. The rooms are also decent.

I have had a great experience stayed at Howard Johnson Shanghai. Service was good with friendly staff, room was very clean with super convenient location too. I did feel very safe and comfortable while staying @ Howard Johnson Shanghai. I'm sure will come back again in near future. 😍

The hotel was clean and comfortable. The only complaint we have is that we couldn’t control the air temperature. We adjusted the control in the room but it didn’t actually change the temperature. The housekeeper just had us open the window, but that didn’t cool the room down at all.
