Hotels Near onheon in Shanghai

I wasn't planning on reviewing this hotel because I don't have very good things to say about it, but since the staff was nice to my, I figured not commenting wouldn't be the end of the world (i.e. other people can figure out its shortcomings on their own, or maybe they'll find it works for them). In any event, I'll try to tread gently. GOOD The location is certainly good, but the construction is a little hectic/off-putting (not the hotel's fault and it will presumably be complete by the time many people read this). Very friendly and accommodating (to the best of their abilities) staff. BAD No elevator from the street to the lobby on the second floor, which feels like the 3rd floor in terms of number of steps. The elevator that goes from the 2nd floor to the 4th floor (rest of the rooms) is a freight elevator (kind of gross) and it gets turned off at night, so you'll be doing more stair climbing if you return after ~10p. So, the solution to this is to get a room on the 2nd floor, hopefully one that doesn't face the street. Both of my rooms there were quite tiny. There are much better options at their price point.

I definitely would give the stuff and especially Richard an 10 of 5 if possible! Their service were amazing!!!! They helped us so much with everything to get smoothed into the Chinese world! They helped with installing the right applications for us and the get a discount for our stay at the hotel! Thank you so much! The hotel is in a great location 3 minutes walk to the metro station, French concession with restaurants and cafe is 5 to 10 minutes walk! But there also also direct cafes beside the building! The breakfast is amazing and very clean and tastes great! The there as well is super kind and helpful. See you soon again:)

The hotel is best suited for leisure travelers. Location is great and lots of instagrammable photo spots. However, breakfast doesn't start till 8 am, which for business travelers and/or people with a full schedule is quite late. The AC doesn't work at temperature above 18C, good thing I noted the same problem in one of the other reviews and so was prepared to try different AC combinations. Also, the TV needed help from management to get it work. There were bugs on the bed biting me overnight. Good news is service is great, management arranged to spray my room after the first night and luckily, the bed biting situation did not occur again. Overall, a really unique hotel, but for the price, really should step up hygiene.

This beautiful boutique hotel reminded me of Paris. Right outside is a lovely peaceful square filled with a bookstore, cafes, some restaurants, a bagel shop. The room and bed was so comfortable that I didn’t want to leave. It’s more suitable for adults and I’m guessing that’s why I didn’t encounter any families with young children in the 4 days I stayed here so it was quiet and tranquil. There was only 1 time I smelled cigarette smoke emanating from one of the neighbour rooms, which is great actually, because at most of the bigger hotels I’ve stayed that have a lot more guests, there was always the constant lingering smell of cigarette smoke. Staff are fabulous and friendly. Great service. 1 or 2 could speak some English so that was really helpful and I could get by with basic Mandarin. Breakfast spread was small but sufficient - eggs fried in any way you like, bread, croissant, plain porridge with pickles, fresh salad, sausages, a small assortment of dim sum, 2 kinds of fruits… sometimes they offer soup noodles. Cafe latte is great!

I stayed for just one night as I had an event I was going to in the city. I booked a promo queen room at a great last minute price, good value! The bed was a little firm for my taste and the room is small, but I'm not complaining at the price. Breakfast is okay, small range (but it's a smaller hotel), mostly Chinese (the wonton soup was delicious!). The hotel is older (with that lovely French Concession grandeur) but clean and the staff are lovely (though bring your translation app if you're a foreigner who doesn't speak English). I would really like to come back and stay in the spring (it has beautiful outdoors scenery) and pay more to stay in a bigger room for a few days.

I have stayed in too many hotels, but this one still amazed me. Every item in the room was carefully designed and selected by the owner. The quality is superb, and the attention to detail is impeccable. The high-quality drinks in the minibar, the lavender sleep spray, and the super high-end and comfortable mattresses and bedding can instantly put you in a dream. The vegetarian breakfast is even more carefully prepared, leaving people wanting more. I especially want to praise the housekeeper Xiao Tang. From the moment we met, his meticulous service was caring and warm. He patiently and meticulously accompanied the guests to introduce every function and purpose of the hotel until they left the hotel. During this period, you can see him anytime you need him. His warm smile is impressive. He is a super housekeeper with a special sense of responsibility. Zuoting is a hotel that feels like home. I will definitely come again when I come to Shanghai.

Good location , walking distance (within 2km) to Wukang building and Jing A temple, lots of hipster cafe / eateries. A bit of walk to subway for daily commute. For home stay, they are doing their best , excellent support via WeChat! We stayed in of the 3 story home stay with washing ma home, fresh towels n clean beds. But the finishing and furnishing is a bit dated , when look closely, it’s a bit dusty (our kids have sensitive airways ) but if you are not into all these details! Will still recommend it for family! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 Ps: there’s a neighbour with cute cats nearby! Uber cute !

This was an excellent place to stay in a great central location in Shanghai. The loft apartment is well decorated and comfortable beds were great. You can hear some street noise. The kitchen did not have any condiments or oil but did have pots and pans and tableware. The oven doesn’t currently work but the stovetop is great. There is also a very nice high pressure shower and comfortable bathroom although the drain does smell a bit. The location is quiet and although the walls are thin it is a peaceful street. The apartment is also relatively accessible for older people (except the upstairs loft of course). Both beds are large and comfortable. The host was extremely responsive when checking in remotely. Initially the code did not get sent automatically so I had to reach him and he was very happy and fast to help. He also allowed us to store our bags. When we returned to pick up our bags the door code had expired and he was responsive via phone in helping us address this. Thank you for a great stay!

A nice and new hotel. A very modern and contemporary look. Staff are very accommodating in general. But even after I complained about the sound in my room, a type of rattling sound, no one offered to do anything. I reported this to two groups of people including a Manager, but there was no reaction at all. Surprising! Breakfast was more on the local side but adequate if one is not picky. Hotel is located just 100m away and relatively convenient. Many local restaurants and shops nearby. Can get to several shopping malls if willing to walk around 15 minutes. It would be nice if the hotel will be willing to explain to me about the rattling sound, the reaction of the staff to my complaint and what the hotel would do to relieve my disrupted sleep due to the sound.
