This hotel, with wonderful views of the channel and the coast line of England, presents a style normally associated with a boutique 5 star hotel in central London. The attention to detail is fabulous, even to the presence of small scissors in each bedroom so you don’t break a nail when opening a coffee sachet. Located on the outskirts of Shanklin, there is an opportunity to walk along the coastal path literally yards from the hotel, taking you to the quaint village of Shanklin, complete with thatched roofs and ‘Olde English’ pubs (the ‘Village Inn’ has the best cream tea we’ve ever had, and we’ve had many!’). We went closed-season and we’re the only people staying - note: the hotel doesn’t operate a restaurant but they are many to choose from not too far away - but it certainly deserves its 5 star rating and the Owners, the Barrett’s, should be congratulated for creating a beautiful, stylish and well-thought out hotel. Chapeau!
