I would like to put on record the warm hospitality extended by the General Manager, Mr. Praveen Sharda. I have observed on previous occasions too, that he ensures to personally sees off his guests. His warm demeanor and genuine interest in meeting our needs created a welcoming and pleasant experience. It is rare to find someone who balances leadership with such a personal touch. Mr. Praveen sets a standard for hospitality that others can aspire to. Mr. Praveen leads by example, and his team comprising of Ms. Rajshri and Mr. Amrit are equally efficient and effective. What made the evening so special wasn’t just the outstanding food or the impeccable service—it was the harmony between Chef Gopal's magical touch and the hospitality extended by Mr. Praveen, Ms. Namphi which worked together to create an atmosphere of warmth, luxury, and care.

Hotel is centrally located, very clean, and beyond welcoming. The Tavern Club in the hotel is convenient, offers a wide selection, wonderful food and drinks. Arun, the senior bartender, was amazing!! All requests hotel wide were met timely, Thank you for making our stay comfortable. And pankaj is very nice guy and amazing. And Freddy is also. Nice greeting hospitality

The hotel should be a famous hotel in the local area! However, it is incomparable with the domestic 4 star hotel. The first hotel is relatively old, and the second hotel's supplies are relatively inferior. Only the staff are still pretty good, attitude is good, only live for one day, so in addition to feeling expensive, feeling worthwhile, the mood is not too bad! One night of transition, nothing to worry about!

A perfect place to stay with friends/family/couples. The property has 3 wings- heritage, forest and valley wing. We stayed in the valley wing. The rooms were small but cozy with a touch of royalty. The view of the city is amazing, especially at night, when city is all lit up. Some rooms have a balcony with is spacious and beautiful. The entire property is well maintained. It definitely provides you a feel of the historic past it beholds. They have designated breakfast and dinner areas in the different wings making sure that guests don't miss out on the heritage and royalty. Orchids and pine trees enhance its beauty. The significance of the horse shoe shaped entrance, the historic importance of different blocks, old photographs take you down the memory lane. The hospitality and food are good. Staff is very courteous. Ambience is great.It lives upto its name.

Beautiful Hotel in mid of main center point of Shillong. Staff were so helpful and professional. Food was amazing and mouth watering. I met the Manager of the Hotel who was so fantastic in solving our issues. We will definitely visit this Hotel in our upcoming visit in Shillong. Kudos to the Team M Crown 👑

Best in shillong. But the lady manager is very cunning. Never hire hotel cab from them. They will charge you double. Other than than everything is fine. Internet here is having an issue as it connects and again gets disconnected.

Orange Homestay is an excellent accommodation and is above Frank motors (Tata motors dealer). The rooms are spacious and very clean. The terrace is awesome as they have many flowering plants which are blooming. The food is also good but at times the wait time is more. The staff are very helpful and service oriented. They don't expect Tips. Very polite and well mannered. Breakfast options are limited but serving is generous and unlimited. There is only 1 chef and he arrives around 7 am. So the earliest you can expect the Breakfast is at 7:30 am. It would be either of Poori or Bhature or Aloo Paratha ***** with bread toast and bread sandwich. Whatever they cook is tasty. Coming to the drawbacks. 1) No lift. If you get room at 3rd floor then it will be difficult for elderly 2) The accommodation is on Laitmor/Mawblei main road which is always busy and very noisy. Sleeping in the night will be slightly difficult due to the vehicles making noise. 3) Very far away from Police bazaar. You need at least 1 hour by car to reach police bazaar though the distance is only 6 kms. Shillong traffic is pathetic. Taxi guys fleece you. It costed us 400 to come from Police Bazar to Orange homestay. There is no car parking as well at Police bazaar. So if you are keen to spend time on shopping then Orange homestay may not be the right place. We stayed in room 111 at 3rd floor and the room is massive in size. Very thoughtfully stocked with hot packs, geyser, Air conditioning which can also double up as heater, extra blankets etc.

I recently stayed at the Ladybird Hotel for two nights, 14th-15th September, with a group of women friends. The hotel’s prime location in Police Bazar was a definite highlight, as the market was just steps away. We arrived late on the 14th and to our surprise, the entrance was only accessible from the parking lot. We ordered dinner and while the service was prompt, the food was excessively salty and disappointing. The chef was courteous enough to apologize after we provided feedback, assuring us that future meals would be better. Thankfully, dinner the next night was indeed delicious. Unfortunately, one of our assigned rooms was on the third floor, where all the adjacent rooms were occupied by construction workers. That night, loud hammering noises started at 8 pm, which disturbed us, sounding like drilling right above. We tried calling reception multiple times, but no one answered, so we went to the lobby at 11 pm to find it completely deserted with no staff in sight. We felt unsafe and uneasy as all of us were women and hurried back to our room. We were left wondering who we would contact in case of a medical emergency or any unforeseen circumstances, as there was no hotel staff, our local contact present throughout the entire night. Construction noise with lot of drilling and hammering continued until 6 AM the next day, resulting in a sleepless night and headaches. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone, particularly for women travelers due to serious safety concerns.
