Terrible experience. We booked this hotel due to the many apparent good reviews, the dissapointment began on day 1: first a tedious check - in process where we were explained everything into so much detail (even how to turn the tv on in the room!) instead of leaving us our space to rest after a 9h long trip. The next thing we noticed was that the toilet was discusting. After complaining it was cleaned but it is not understandable how this could have been missed (see photo). The rest of the bathroom was also very dirty (stains and rust everywhere, even on the doors! ), even the soap smell rancid (probable as the recipient must have not been washed). When taking showers the bathroom gets flooded and it is impossible to acces the toilet until the floor dries. Towels had holes in them. Sheets on the beds had stains. A chair in the room had a nail in the middle sticking out and ripped my pants. Pool area needs urgent cleaning. Food was subpar, the pizza was some basic dough with ketchup, next day we ordered grilled vegetable sandwiches and it took 45 min to get them, vegetables were not grilled and apparently not well washed either as we had upset stomachs afterwards, excesive prices for what you get (8 usd for the pizza, 5.5 for the sandwich + the free diarrhea.. you get a full meal somewhere else for 4 usd). PROS: Good service (Reception only, not the restaurant). + Quite location away from busy pub street but still quite close. + Great service from service manager Mr Ny and Mr Thom (I think that's his name) + Mr Ny was very professional and quick to apologise and offer solutions to whatever issues guests encountered. + Mr Thom smiled a lot and was very proactive in helping to carry luggage. + *Most* of the staff at reception greet you warmly when you leave or enter the hotel. CONS: - Limited food options nearby but that of course, is the tradeoff for being in a quieter location. - Supposed to be a non-smoking room but room 208 had a lingering smoke smell. (Quickly changed to room 406 thanks to helpful Mr Ny). - TV in both rooms were very unresponsive to the remote. You have to click several times and at a very particular angle just to change channels. - Body soap and shampoo in large dispenser had a bad smell. It was obviously not changed for a long time. - No hot water in room 406. It was however, quickly fixed by kind and helpful Mr Ny. - American breakfast comes with 2 eggs. I asked if it has to be 2 eggs of the same type or can we choose 1 each of different types (e.g. scrambled and poached which I ordered). Waitress said both are fine. Order came and only had 1 scrambled egg. Raised the issue to another waitress and no apology, just said 'Oh, you want *another* poached egg' when I didn't even get 1 in the first place. Eventually, the missing poached egg did come but the experience was unpleasant. May visit again if they fix the above issues.

I had a wonderful stay at Bayon Modern Residence and decided to stay an extra night. The reception staff were wonderful and helped me sort transport. Clean and spacious room and pool.

Bayon modern hotel is one of the nicest hotels we’ve stayed No only is the layout and the swimming pool the best the staff were outstanding, kind and caring nothing was too much for them. They met our every request. Special thanks to our tuk tuk driver, Him, wonderful guy a real asset to the hotel and real ambassador for his wonderful country The behind the reception were wonderful as will. Thank you for making our stay so good

Value for money. This is a nice mid-sized hotel in a relatively quiet neighborhood. The room ceilings are high, the bathrooms are generously sized and have proper lighting (!), toilets are seperate, mattresses, pillows and linens are comfortable, breakfast is good, both for Westerners and Asians. Staff is very friendly. Rooms towards the pool are quieter than the ones to the street. Recommended.

its my 2nd time in Siem Reap after 10years. Hotel is located at a good location & also near to few food places. Safe & easy. Front desk staffs are super friendly. Easy to get tuk tuk or also called remorque (french name). if lazy or tired to walk, just use tuk tuk or remorque which cost $2 or $2.5 (do ask & negotiate). Room was super big with 2 double bed which is able to fit 4 people. Rooms were clean but a bit dusty which need more housekeeping. Yeah also do request to spray mosquito repellent before leaving your rooms. Breakfast was great and many choices and had 2 great days staying there. Overall i strongly recommend this hotel.

I had a great time there. Even tho I stayed there for a night, the staffs are very helpful and the room is neat and tidy. Would definitely gonna stay there again if I’m in Siam Reap.

A really nice hotel with excellent service. A coffee shop, restaurant, pool and bar on site. The room was spacious and very comfortable, the bed and linens were quality. The area is quiet, assuring a good night's sleep, yet it is just a couple of kilometers from Pub Street and downtown. The breakfast is decent and the restaurant/room service dishes were tasty. There is an ATM out front and tuk tuks ready to take you where you need to be. The staff's friendliness and willingness to help cannot be overstated. I would love to visit again!

Beautiful, quiet and peaceful atmosphere! Very kind and attentive staff. Awesome pool and bar! Would highly recommend for friends, couples and families!

It’s reasonable price but a bit out of city centre but there are tuk tuk that you can use to go around. Room is ok. The bed is big even for twin room but they should have more amenities. The breakfast has many choices which is very good.

It was such a pleasant 2 night stay at Bayon Modern residence. We loved it. Very accessible location and nice staffs. Room was clean, airy and perfect. Would love to book again when in SR. Breakfast buffet was also delicious with changes in menu.
