Island of Ortigia
My wife and I spent 3 nights at this old convent in Ortigia, the old part of Siracusa. We were given a room on the third floor, with a small balcony overlooking the Ionian sea and, to the north, Etna looming in the distance behind the city (about 50 miles away). I believe this room had the best view of any place we’ve stayed. David and Cinzia at the front desk were extremely helpful, and recommended several good restaurants during our stay. This hotel was an ideal base for us to explore Siracusa by foot, or to just hang out and enjoy the view from our balcony. If you manage to get a room with a sea view, sunrise is not to be missed!
Borgo di Luce I Monasteri Golf Resort & Spa

After reading some of the reviews, I was a little worried about what the experience would be like. However, from the arrival, the staff were friendly and professional as well as being efficient. The rooms we had (three couples) were in the modern part of the hotel, overlooking the golf course with the pool to the front. They were all clean and well appointed with most things you'd need for a few days break. The service for the one dinner we had was great (especially the restaurant manager (Marco?) in a busy and pretty dining room, the food was good, not great but good and reasonably priced. Breakfasts were good with a good variety but I would agree with some of the other comments that freshly pressed orange juice would have been good to have. Lunch near the club house was nice but as many people finished playing gold at a similar time it could get busy and the service was sometimes a bit hit and miss but as the staff were friendly we found it more amusing that irritating. There was one waitress who looked very stressed and needed to smile a bit more! The pool which we though would be closed was actually open and we were able to swim along with quite a few others, it was missing a lifeguard which we were told about but that was not a problem (a bit chilly in October). The pool and surrounding area was lovely and well set out. Pool bar was shut as it was out of season. I has a massage which was excellent and reasonable priced however, the actual spa needs a bit of an update and was quite damp in places. Unfortunately the Turkish bath did not have heating (broken) but looked lovely. Overall, beautiful building and grounds (don't play golf so can't comment on the course but those that did thought it was ok), in a peaceful and tranquil position-bit expensive if you want to go to Syracuse (recommended) but then we knew it was roughly 20 minutes away (taxi for 6 was 60 euros). Staff were great and I'm glad we spent a long weekend there.
Mercure Siracusa Prometeo
4.3/546 Reviews
The room is decent for a city hotel, catering more towards business travellers. The hotel is conveniently located, a 30-minute walk to Ortigia's island city but less than 5 minutes from the Archaeological Park of Neapolis. Getting to Ortigia is easy via a quick ride on the red bus costing just €1.50, payable to the driver. The reception is notably friendly and helpful. Breakfast is good, offering a brilliant variety of food and drinks. Additionally, there is a large supermarket around the corner of the hotel. Parking is free.
Minareto

I was fortunate enough to be invited to a conference at the Minareto. The setting is fantastic, with the old city of Sircusa just across the water with Mt Etna snow, smoke and all in the background behind the old city. There are multiple outdoor gathering places for mixers or meals. The staff was highly attentive particularly Desk agent Luca. Kudos to Chef Francesco who took extra care to make sure that dietary needs were addressed in the most tasty and satisfying way possible. What a great setting and a wonderful hotel for a destination conference like the one I was attending, or for locals gathering for a special event.
Eureka Palace Hotel Spa Resort

Travelling on a ten day holiday Sicily jewel of the Mediterranean with Titan Travel flying from Gatwick airport to Catania were we where met by our guide Denise and driver Claudio and taken to the Eureka Palace hotel for a three nights stay. Being a solo traveler the room is very important my room was spacious, comfortable and I had a lovely balcony which looked out onto a racecourse which was very interesting watching the horses in training with riders or buggies each morning, we were a group of 40 travellers the evening meal’s were set menu but the food not very good, the breakfasts were excellent buffet style you could choose what to eat plenty of choices, the staff were very friendly and helpful but they did seem to be rushing around covering other areas of the hotel. During our stay we visited Syracuse, Ortigia, Noto, Ragusa, Modica. On departure from the hotel I paid my hotel room tax at reception, staff were very friendly and helpful I enjoyed my stay.

Island of Ortigia
The room is super beautiful and the view is charming! After entering the room, I immediately decided to change the itinerary and stay one more night! The service is very good! I'm still walking around at the door, the charming lady at the front desk will come out and I will take it in. There is a public parking lot at the door, and you can also use the hotel's valet parking for 30 euros a night! The breakfast is also good! The shortcomings must be said, that is, slightly tired, the room is on two floors Is the second floor of the room slightly tired!
