I had booked an A/C cottage at Lazo Coffee Bean Resort for 3 nights. I wanted to share my experience. The resort is located 8 kms from Madikeri town, the roads are good, but it’s not lit during the night, so it is advisable not to travel after 10 PM. The resort entrance is right on a curve, you need to be cautious while entering the resort especially when coming from the Madikeri side. The check-in process was easy and didn’t take much time, there was parking space available. The cottage was big, well-lit with warm lights, its completely wooden. The flooring therefore was too squeaky and a bit slippery. There was a decent balcony that was supposed to be ”forest facing”, half of it was covered by the adjacent restaurant building, which was still under construction (raw materials and clothes drying on a rope) and people working hence constant loud chattering, while the other half was facing a garbage dump. This made the balcony useless with zero privacy. The washroom was decent in size but clean irrespective of demanding a room cleaning. Wires were hanging from many sides of the roof. There was running hot water 24/7 which is appreciated. The towels and bedsheets had stains. The complementary breakfast was below average especially South Indian options. Try having it as early as possible as its not kept warm and there is not enough seating. The utensils are not clean, some are even rusted. We had lunch and dinner once, the food was decent. If you are ordering extra bottles of water its charged 2x. All staff were helpful and well behaved. There was good internet connectivity. Payments are accepted by UPI or cash only.
Very Good
