Premier Inn Southend-On-Sea (Thorpe Bay)

We stayed here for New Year’s Eve whilst visiting family. Hotel is ideally situated on sea front away from the hustle and bustle of Southend but still a very pleasant walk into town. There is ample free car parking and a nice outdoor area when weather improves. Our room was spotlessly clean well serviced with towels etc. Bed was very comfortable. Reception staff were very welcoming. I would definitely stay again and recommend

Had a great stay for Christmas holidays whilst visiting family. The staff are amazing here always welcoming and friendly especially Chris on Reception who always makes time for a chat. Even the cleaning ladies chat to us. Rooms are lovely. Beds are so comfortable

There are two premier inns along the Esplanade - this one is further away from town but there is a bus stop just outside, it’s older than the other but usually cheaper and has free parking (remember to input your car reg into the tablet at reception). Hotel’s Set back from the main road and so quiet, there’s no on site restaurant but a convenient Toby’s adjacent. There’s no room aircon and so guess it can get stuffy in summer, the electric heater worked fine and overbath shower had reasonable pressure. I was attending a funeral and so only stayed the one night but I’d be happy to return (but maybe not in summer). Staff really friendly and being part of a large national chain, you know what to expect

I had a lovely stay at Thorpe Bay Premier Inn. The room was nice and spacious; the bed was big and comfy; and the reception staff were super friendly and helpful. There was no breakfast but a conveniently positioned Toby Carvery right next door. Loads of parking available.

Lovely room. Clean and tidy,very comfy bed. Pub next door fir food. Toby carvery. Lovely breakfast and dinner. Spot on. Parking was good right next to the hotel. If you want to book in early you have to pay an extra 10 pounds. The receptionist was very helpful and booked us in with no problems

Whilst the lady on reception at check-in was amazing, friendly, professional and caring and the hotel, spotlessly clean. The decor and facilities do require updating. No air-con in the room, which I’d consider a basic requirement these days. The decoration was worn and showed signs of probable flood damage (bathroom). Dark wood furniture and brown/beige decor and fixtures. The restaurant, like many Premier Inns, was by means of a pub across the car park, which we didn’t use but only as we had other plans. Would I stay here again? Yes for a single night or too providing it wasn’t in the summer, the room was far too warm and the bedding was made for colder nights.
