Perfect
GGuest UserThe location had great views over the valley, including the early morning sea of cloud. The property has a rooftop lookout that our group could get together to enjoy the view.
It helped that our taxi could drive through the narrow road of Mengben village and deposit us and our luggage on the doorstep of the homestay. This is unlike Wengji & Nuogang villages, where cars are not allowed to enter the village but deposit visitors at the village carpark.
The hospitality of the owner/hostess was remarkable.
She had a Pu'er tea table and made us endless cups of different tea all grown in her farm, explaining their differences and virtues. She did not charge us a cent for the whole experience. Neither did she try to hard sell the tea leaves although we did buy a small amount off her because we enjoyed the tea. She is a good cook and whipped up breakfast and lunch for us.
GGuest UserThe hostel was exceptionally clean and tidy, and I was touched by many thoughtful little details. The owners were incredibly warm and friendly, offering a lot of itinerary suggestions and tips. The view from the small balcony was also stunning, perfect for watching the sunset and the sea of clouds; the location was superb. The beds were comfortable, the place was very quiet, and the facilities were complete. The other guests I met were also incredibly friendly and full of positive energy. Highly recommended!!!
HhahakakaThis guesthouse is fantastic, located right on the roadside in Menghai, very convenient if you're driving. It's like a five-star hotel! We were greeted with welcome fruit upon check-in, and the owner even prepared a huge feast for us on our first night – the food was just as good as any restaurant! I ended up eating three bowls of rice without even realizing it! 😂
We stayed at the guesthouse on the first floor. The room was spacious and well-equipped, featuring a smart toilet and a Dyson hairdryer. All the amenities, such as disposable towels, slippers, and toothbrushes, were of high quality. The room even had a tatami mat where you could sit, drink tea, and watch the clouds. Among these villages, the facilities are probably top-notch! The second-floor terrace is also great for stargazing at night.
The owners are incredibly kind. The next day, they took us to their tea plantation for a hike! They even took us to the viewpoint to watch the sunrise and gave us some dried glutinous rice – truly amazing owners!!!
I would definitely choose this place again next time! Except for being a little far from other villages, everything else is wonderful!
Yyangxm1957The location of the inn is good, in Jingmai Dazhai, it is convenient to go to the surrounding attractions, and there are several good restaurants nearby. There is a parking lot with plenty of parking spaces. The room was clean and soundproofed. The night is quiet and sleeps in the mountains and jungles. I especially like the balcony, especially sitting on the balcony to enjoy tea, drink coffee, watch the stars, and enjoy the moonlight. The boss is warm and the breakfast rice noodles taste good. The price is not expensive in the peak season, the price is very high, it is recommended!
LLurenyixiaojieHygiene: The overall environment of the guesthouse and the cleanliness of the rooms were good; they were kept quite clean.
Facilities: The room facilities were basic, but the smart toilet was a highlight, featuring a heated seat. The temperature difference in Jingmai Mountain during winter is significant, and it gets quite cold in the mornings and evenings, so the heated seat was very comfortable.
Service: The staff were enthusiastic and responsive, but don't expect city-level efficiency from them in the mountains.
Environment: The view from the guesthouse's viewing platform was absolutely stunning! The view was expansive, with a vast sea of clouds! The guesthouse staff mentioned that at this time of year, you can only see half of the sunrise, but the weather was bad during our visit; the clouds were too thick, so we didn't see the sunrise.
Drawbacks: The biggest drawback of this guesthouse was its complete lack of soundproofing! The guesthouse rooms are made of wood or bamboo and have two floors. My room was on the first floor, and I could hear every sound outside, including anyone walking on the second floor, even normal footsteps (not running or jumping), clearly from my room! I could even feel the window frames vibrating when someone walked heavily—it was incredibly loud! Even on the second floor, you could probably hear people walking in the hallway, because the hallway was also made of wooden planks, which creaked when you stepped on them. I could only fall asleep after everyone had fallen asleep, stopped talking and moving around. However, I'm not a light sleeper; a few days ago at the guesthouse in Xishuangbanna, I fell asleep instantly every day and slept soundly until dawn.
GGuest UserWe had an amazing stay at the Guest House.
It's situated a bit down from Wengji village centre : amazing view of the mountains and nights are very calm ! We really appreciated staying in Jingmai mountain region, a more preserved and authentic area, especially after having visited Northern Yunnan where we were sometimes disappointed....
We rented an e-scooter at Mangjing which was very convenient to visit villages and tea forests around.
The family is very nice and helpful, we really appreciated discovering all these different teas : green, black, white, etc. And so happy to have bought some home !
Wishing you the best !

GGuest UserThe room was spotless, and even had a smart toilet. All the toiletries you could need were provided. In the evening, the owner even had a BBQ in the yard, grilling meat, oranges, sugarcane, and sticky rice cakes, plus karaoke! The sunset view from the third-floor balcony was absolutely amazing. The location is also fantastic, making it super convenient to get anywhere. It's easy to catch a bus too, with a stop just a few minutes' walk away, and it's not a busy area, so no traffic jams – very peaceful. You can even walk to Wengji Ancient Village. The owners are also incredibly kind and friendly.
RRomana PearlsThe village is only 1 km away from the busstation and we were picked up from there and brought back there when we travelled to Banna with the bus at 8.30h.
The lady helped us with the tickets and also with organising a driver to two sights. However it took a lot of tlme because we don’t speak chinese.
We bought some tea from their own tea.
The guesthouse is quite basic but has a terrasse and is near the panoramic platform with a great sunset view.
What really disturbed me was a bad smell in the room. No idea from where it comes from. (Not from the toilet).
The village itself is really beautiful and very worth to visit.
GGuest UserThe girlfriends are together to eat, drink and stroll, travel on the staggered peak, Jingmai Mountain itinerary full score 💯 It’s right to have a rain, and it’s also right to have a sea of tea mountains and clouds! Staying at the famous hotel opened by Pu'er Tea Non-genetic inheritor Yuan Wen, the two families take care of it personally. The room is oversized and the twin bed can easily accommodate 4 people. The boss will soak in the homemade Pu'er every day to entertain guests from all over the world. The proprietress cooks good dishes. In the evening, the little brother and sister will roast corn sweet potatoes and make milk tea to talk to everyone around the stove. Although September is not the tea picking season, the tea picking experience can still participate. After the rain, the fresh air and various cicadas called to sweep the hustle and bustle of the city for two nights and three days. It was fleeting. The night before leaving, I was fortunate to taste the Iceland treasured by Master Yuwen. I returned to Gan, which was extraordinary! When I went down the mountain the next day, I rarely encountered the sea of clouds. Life is worth it! Looking forward to gathering again next time, I wish the homestay better and better!
GGuest UserA very sweet family! We were immediately invited for tea, and I even tasted their homemade dragon fruit wine. Breakfast and dinner were delicious, well-prepared, and we also found them inexpensive. They're almost always around to help, but clearly have their own activities at the same time—a nice balance.
The accommodation feels a bit like a small farm: there are several animals on site. They and the neighbors also have super sweet, affectionate dogs and a cat. They romp and play together all day long and love to come and visit. I absolutely fell in love with the neighbor's puppy.
Price-wise, this place is really affordable compared to other accommodations in the area. The room is fine: not huge, but big enough (and you're mostly outside anyway). The bed is firm, which we actually appreciated. The toilet is a squat toilet and has hot water.
The shared terrace is a highlight: a beautiful view of the mountains and the valley, and you look out onto the ”sea of clouds”—magical, especially in the morning.
We didn't have a car, but we were able to rent a scooter here for 50 yuan a day. It was so much fun and made our stay even better than we could have imagined: the two of us explored the entire area.
The bus stops about 1 km away, and for the return trip to Pu'er, they helped us with a shared ride. They're a truly warm family who plan your trip with you and are always willing to help.
If we return, we would definitely stay here again. Thank you!
P.S. Near the accommodation, there's also a family that sells homemade tea sets made with special clay. Highly recommended!
