2-Star Hotels in Budapest

The hostel has a simple environment with many public individual toilet and shower rooms available. However, the showerheads are incredibly awkward. They are fixed to the rack, spraying in a ridiculously crooked direction, and worst of all, they have a press-to-spray mechanism where each press only lasts for two seconds. Although the water pressure and temperature are fine, it's really messy to try and shower while pressing the water with one hand and holding the showerhead with the other. There's also no shelf to place toiletries. The nearest laundry room (which isn't even that close) is closed on weekends. To do laundry, you'd have to walk for half an hour or take the subway to a more distant location. The lockers in the hostel rooms seem to require thicker lock rings to secure properly; metal anti-theft cords won't work. The luggage storage service involves many anti-theft cords at the hostel entrance where you can tie your bags. However, it doesn't feel very secure, as anyone could walk in, pretend to look for their bag, and potentially take items from inside or outside your bag (unless the zipper is completely locked, of course).

When I booked this hostel, there weren't many photos or reviews to go by, so I decided to write a detailed one this time, complete with lots of pictures! First off, the hostel's location is truly excellent. It's very close to both the light rail and the subway. Downstairs, there's a McDonald's and a Starbucks, and a supermarket is just a short walk away. The room layout is really cool, almost like a loft. All beds have curtains, so privacy is excellent. There's actually a kitchen right in the room! It's fully equipped with pots, pans, a microwave, a fridge, and an induction cooktop. There's one shower room and one toilet. The room offers plenty of storage space. Each bed has a standard power outlet and a night light. There are also a table and chairs in the room. While it's quite basic, it has everything you need. The color scheme always gives me a cozy, grandma's house kind of vibe. Breakfast is provided, usually from 7 AM to 11 AM. I think the timing is very flexible, so both early risers and late sleepers can enjoy it. I personally found the breakfast quite good, with tea, coffee, juice, milk, and some bread, vegetables, and hard-boiled eggs. You can store your luggage, and a €5 cash deposit is required at check-in. The bathroom has a hairdryer, and 2-in-1 shower gel/shampoo is also provided.

Absolutely amazing hostel! The cleanliness, staff behavior, and overall atmosphere are simply outstanding. I have stayed at Wombat’s City Hostels in Munich, Vienna, and now Budapest, and every single time, the atmosphere has surprised me in the best possible way. Each hostel has its own charm, but the hospitality, friendly vibes, and welcoming environment have been consistently awesome across all three locations. Everything is well maintained, the staff are friendly and helpful, and the overall experience makes you feel comfortable from the moment you arrive. Wombat’s is not just a place to stay; it’s an experience in itself. Every time I stay with this hostel chain, they manage to exceed my expectations. You guys are simply awesome. The location was fantastic; I had no trouble getting around the city or out of town. Luckily, my room was mostly empty, and the closets were a lifesaver – I could leave my belongings and head out freely. Noise wasn't an issue, just a slight odor when I first entered, which I think was more related to previous guests than the hotel itself. They have a small kitchen which is quite functional. The toilet and shower were perfectly adequate for me. I'd say it's the best performance for the price; I'd definitely stay there again. Thanks for everything!

I wanted to drop off my luggage before the early check-in, so I went to the building where the hotel is located. However, I struggled to figure out how to ring the bell at the building's front door. The hotel occupies only one floor on the second level of the building. Although there's an elevator inside, it requires a special key, so I had to carry my luggage up the stairs initially. Despite being an old building, the rooms have been nicely renovated, and the shower room was spacious with no issues. The only downside was that the Wi-Fi didn't work in the room, so I had to go to the common area, which was inconvenient. Breakfast isn't included, but the location is very convenient for getting around, making it suitable for sightseeing.

**Charming and Cozy Stay** I had a wonderful stay at **Giselle Vintage Doubles**. The place has a unique vintage charm, with beautifully decorated rooms that feel warm and inviting. The bed was comfortable, and the amenities were well thought out, making the stay very enjoyable. The hosts were welcoming and attentive, ensuring a pleasant experience. The location was convenient, with easy access to local attractions and dining options. If you're looking for a cozy and stylish stay with a touch of vintage elegance, this is a great choice. Highly recommend!

Thanks for Budapest Eye-Boutique Suite hotel team. A lovely, clean, comfortable, and safe hotel located in the city center. You can easily walk to the Danube River and the Chain Bridge. I also want to thank Arvin at the reception; he was a very helpful and friendly guy. The E100 bus stop—which goes to the airport—is just 100–200 meters away from the hotel.

Excellent location, close to the train station, metro, and tram. The room is small, but if you're here to explore the city and not spend time in the hotel, it's perfect. There's a microwave at the reception to heat food, as well as a kettle and coffee. P.S. The hotel hasn't been renamed on all maps yet, so sometimes we had to enter the old name - Easy Hotel.

Did not sleep well here at all. There is no privacy in the room, it's not expensive or difficult to put up some sheets or curtains. Very poor effort. It's like sharing a room with your siblings all over again. Very thin walls too so the next door group kept us awake It's supposed to be quiet after 10pm but they all late check in, as a result I was woken by 2am check ins. The socket next to my bed didn't work, neither did the lamp. The pillow is dreadful. The bed is ok. Window didn't close fully and no curtains so sunrise woke me up. Excellent kitchen, comfortable lounge areas, 3 showers & 1 bathroom. All cleaned reasonably well. Check in was easy enough, she is very friendly. The building is absolutely beautiful. The entrance is next to PIZZA ME and a money exchange/kebab store. Supermarkets nearby. Metro & tram nearby. It is in an excellent location. It was cheap and actually good value, I just didn't sleep well If you like privacy and quiet then maybe give this one a swerve

Not a hostel to get any sleep in. But excellent for the airport bus. Hostel is on a busy main road, lots of traffic noise. Privacy curtains aren't well attached and don't block enough light. The beds are incredibly noisy and the room was hot and stuffy. Sheets not cleaned Service was excellent. The man was so so friendly and kind. Kitchen well equipped. Free tea & coffee. Shower very basic and toilet was good. Just 2 showers and toilets for many people. ... 100E bus is 2 mins away. Metro, tram and bus all nearby. Tone of food options. Wifi was ok Towel is 3 euros to rent. Bring your own padlock
