2-Star Hotels in San Diego

Decent place in a college neighborhood. Older, but fairly well kept. Pros: The staff was very cool and very helpful. Con: The TV situation is dismal. It's an older DirectTV system and I could only get about 5 channels, only political news shows, no local channels. I was there several days and it never improved. Another Con: even though the complex was fairly quiet, every single thing in my room made noise. The Heater/AC had an incessant ticking that affected my sleep, the toilet had a drip in the tank that could be heard from the bed, and the fridge was noisier than most. Even though I had a white noise machine, these things disturbed my ability to sleep in peace.

We were pleasantly surprised with the Kings Inn!  After some of the reviews, we were wary that it wasn't going to be clean, but it was totally fine!  Our room was great - the floor probably could have been cleaned more, but for an inn that opens directly to the outside, we didn't think it was bad.  The front desk people were very kind and helpful.  The pool was great and so nice that it wasn't freezing cold!  They supplied plenty of towels.  We didn't have breakfast there.  We were thankful for it's close location to lots of restaurants and several good beaches!  We'd stay here again!  It's hard to find a decent place to stay in San Diego that doesn't cost a ton - so we were very thankful.  It was also very convenient to be able to do laundry if needed - we just dried all the things we used at the beach (for a small fee).  One of the cleaning ladies was extremely kind and helpful when my son, who uses crutches for cerebral palsy, slipped and fell - she helped me get him up and then helped with getting a chair for him to sit in.  I really appreciated her thoughtfulness and help!  Thank you for a good night's stay for our family in San Diego! 

Nice and affordable hotel in Downtown San Diego and not far from the airport

The hotel is old and really need renovation. The air conditioner is rather noisy and I have to put my earbuds on when sleeping. Unluckily our two rooms only have a small window overhead in bathroom while other has a large windows the back. It made the room rather dark and the main switch for the light is out of order, we have to walk carefully across the bed to turn on the light which was placed between the two beds. The room condition was quite different from the pictures shown. The location is good and convenient but the cleanliness is far below standard. Somebody vomit in front of the parking lot gate that is the main entrance to our rooms’ building, it was not cleaned when 3 days was passed. As a budget hotel, we won’t expect much but the maintenance of facilities and the cleanliness must be up to standard. Sure we won’t come again.

For a colleague, display the pre-authorization. As a result, the credit card shows consumption. Colleagues at the front desk are also paying. It has been three months since now, and I have not returned the cost of the card before returning. Still studying how to

This motel is extremely close to SeaWorld. It is located in an industrial neighborhood that has a nude bar on the corner. There is a security guard on duty at night time which helps. The motel is very quiet and has reasonable amenities such as laundry, elevators, underground parking, and breakfast. The breakfast was a reasonable and had waffles, eggs, sausages, cereals, yogurt, breads, etc. The front staff were friendly and helpful. We stayed there two nights and the room was extremely clean. The mattresses were comfortable, and the pillows were also comfortable.

I like the bedroom everything look clean and comfortable to sleep. I was able to sleep well. Thank you! Would recommend this place I hope to come back again!..

The room is clean and tidy, the bedding is comfortable, there is a coffee pot, no hot water, no disposable toothbrushes and slippers, there are 2 USB charging ports, the hair dryer is easy to use, and the towels are fully equipped. The breakfast is rich and delicious.

The hotel worked for a quick stay. The location was pretty good which maybe was the best aspect of the hotel. The rooms were a bit on the older side and when I initially walked in the room smelt a bit of cigarette smoke and mould. There was hot water in the bathroom pipe but tepid/luke warm water in the shower. Someone came to look at the shower and they said there was hot water though when I took a shower later in the evening, there was not hot water so that was a challenge. Overall, it's not somewhere I'd stay again but it served it's purpose as I had an extra day in the city and needed to find a place to stay on short notice.

Good feeling, in the hotel area, the roadside is easy to find. There is a small swimming pool. If the sun can still bubble when the sun is shining during the daytime, as for swimming, it is just across the road ...
