Hotel has been recently upgraded with excellent bathrooms and newly refurnished bedrooms.
Never stayed in this part of U.K. - thriving street market /street food event once per month; sense of a ‘fight back’ and good on them.

Good parking and easy to find. There was a £100 deposit I had to pay which wasn’t mentioned when booking the hotel. The room was nice but the shower had no water pressure and made it difficult to use.

We went to the Crown Hotel Stone on January the third 2025 for a meal with friends. The ambience of the hotel was delightful with wood panelling and a roaring log fire. Our waiter was most considerate and attentive. The food was delicious and first class. The portions were so generous we could not eat it all. Also, the price was very reasonable for such high quality fare. We could relax and chat without too much background noise. We will certainly be returning for another meal soon! Staff were helpful and friendly, beds comfortable food in info-Chinese restaurant within hotel was fantastic.
Downside, toilet roll holder was hanging off, shower was too hot to use and TV not working.

Good room for an overnight stay, i wouldn’t want to stay in it any longer than that as the window looked out onto a brick wall.

We stayed here about 3 years ago. Very much improved, redecorated &great Christmas decorations. Reception was quick & efficient. Upgraded as my wife & I are in our 80s & disabled. Luggage was taken to our room. Very tidy & clean. Good facilities(coffee & tea.)Comfy large bed. Quiet location, free car parking. Hotel easy to locate.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing
Unfortunately we booked a Deluxe Double Room with City View…
Deluxe?
Room was in a chalet place in car park, thin walls and no hot water… even after running tap for over 10 minutes… receptionist said it takes a long time for boiler to work…?
City View.. was a brick wall outside window.
Beware… make sure you check all details prior to booking before confirmation and payment.
Appeared to be no interest in resolving any of the issues?

Horrible place
Horrible, after entering the accommodation area through the broken glass windows i got to my room and open the curtains to a view that looked like a tip with rubbish everywhere.
