Arden House

The staff were welcoming and helpful. Lovely reception area. Our room was spacious, my only criticism would be that our room was described as a superior kingsize. The 'kingsize' bed was two beds individually made with their own sheets and pushed together with a cover over both beds.

We had a great stay at the Arden House B&B. The staff were really helpful and friendly. The room was gorgeous and the bed was so comfy. The only thing was that it was a little cold in the room. The radiator was only warm at the bottom. The radiator in the bathroom didn't work at all. I would definitely stay again, the bedding and towels were lush. There was a good coffee machine in the breakfast room that was free all day.

Beautiful building in an excellent central location. The room was large and the bathroom was huge. The decor just needed a little attention. Door to the room needed a lick of paint. The walls inside were scuffed, cracked and in need of a repaint, although very clean. The communal areas were all in good condition. Staff were so helpful, had a lovely stay.

We have stayed in similar hotels over several years, taking advantage of the 3 day Christmas package. I can honestly say that this was in almost all respects the most enjoyable stay so far. The staff were unfailingly courteous and obliging. Food was very good, varied and served promptly but without undue haste, Our bedroom was immaculately clean, well equipped and had very good storage space. The Manager, always available and attentive, is to be congratulated on his leadership of the team. The limitations on access for people with any reduced mobility was a disadvantage for us older guests. There is no central lift and the stair lift down to The Brasserie we found uncomfortably public to use so managed the steps with some trepidation. Sadly that is the reason we shall be unable to return. While we were aware that dogs could be accommodated we were disappointed to find them in the dining room.
