Tibbiwell Lodge

A lovely B&B The view from our terrace room was across the green and rolling hills, with scattered sheep and a few stone farm house. Very pleasant. The room was spacious. The bed was very comfortable and the temperature in the room just right. The breakfast Jeanina cooked was excellent. The B&B host went out of his way to get us to and from a working bus stop since the road was closed and buses not going through the village. So super helpful.

Very pleasant stay Great location in central Painswick. Fantastic views over the Cotswolds from the terrace. Breakfast was good quality as was the selection.

First it was hard to park, the drive way full of building equipment and stuff. On entering with case and bags we were asked to remove our shoes due to people leaving stains on the carpet. This we would not do. Our shoes where clean and its up to the owner to have suitable carpets for guest use. Janina is lovely. It's not her fault for the rule . But we will not walk around in sox. The terrace room was nice. But the bed far too low, due to how the insulation has been done. No kettle or tea. You had to go downstairs to make it. Not good as I like to come back to my room. Bath relax and not want to dress to get a drink. And same in the morning. Slip on a dressing gown and have coffee. Not dress and go downstairs. Our shower head was awful. Limescale and rust. But it was soon sorted . There was no sink plug. Which we were told was missing a long time. Breakfast was not bad but bacon overcooked and sausages cheap. Fried egg.perfect.. The terrace decking wants a good clean and the furniture although good. I didn't want to sit on it as its pretty green!. Needs cleaning. It could be a lovely place if a few tweaks were done. It is in a beautiful setting .

Two of us stayed here two nights in two rooms while waking the Cotswold Way. I had the nicer room which had a balcony overlooking the garden - ideal for a glass of wine before dinner. The lodge was run by a Romanian woman, Jannina, who kept everything in good order. Rooms were well equipped and the furnishings and decor were high end. Location good, just a short walk from the town centre. Overall, happy with the experience.

The untidy approach to the house gives a clue to what's inside. Tired, dated, shabby and in need of a good clean. The towels needed to be thrown out and replaced with new. It fails on many levels. Undoubtedly the worst accommodation of our 8 day walk. Massively overpriced. Guests deserve much better.

in a beautiful area with lots to do and explore in the Cotswolds. Would have been nice to have a clean kettle in the room itself.
