I have never been so annoyed with a company. Travel Lodge is the worst firm for service I have ever experienced. We were attending a wedding on Saturday 21st May and booked and paid for a room on 26th January ( 4 months in advance) , Arrived at 2pm to check in and get changed ready for the wedding, only to be told the room wasn't ready,we didn't make a fuss as some friends had a room and allowed us to use it. When we returned at 1.30am after having a wonderful time at the wedding we were told they didn't have a room, we explained what had happened earlier and the person at reception kept repeating the hotel was full, and the only help he could give was to call another Travel Lodge to see if they had any rooms available, after about 30 minutes he got us a room in a hotel 20 minutes away, by now it is well passed 2am. The next discussion was getting from one hotel to the other, I really think he thought we were going to either jump into the car or were going to order a cab, we insisted he sorted a cab out and book a return cab the following morning so we could collect our car ( parked in the car park)
We arrived at the replacement hotel around 2.30am, after a few hours sleep we went to reception to in sure the return cab was still arriving at 9.15am, but there was no one to ask, fortunately a member of staff walk passed who made some calls and advised that no cab had been booked, after some time a cab was booked and we eventually returned to the originally hotel to collect our car
This should have been a memorable event ( the Wedding) but turned into a nightmare caused by Travel Lodge
We will NEVER be using Travel Lodge again
