Stayed here with 3 other couples. This hotel should enter FOUR IN A BED. This will enable them to win the lowest score ever. Entered the room to find one of the windows, which had a rotten frame, held up by a gin and tonic can. The electric towel rail was missing its lower brackets and the ceiling was patched up. The entrance into the shower was so narrow we had to enter sideways. A larger person would not have fitted. Our friends room had the extractor fan falling through the ceiling and another couple had water coming through their bathroom ceiling. It’s advertised as luxury bathrooms. I don’t think so. We were told there was a singer on the night but when we returned from eating out we couldn’t get through the pub to upstairs due to the amount of people. We went round the back and both doors to upstairs were wide open and available to anyone not staying to access. Very bad security. We then endured a very heavy base music system which vibrated everything in the room including the glass shower door. It’s called the Joiners Arms, obviously the joiner ran away years ago!

HORRENDOUS STAY Scored 1.01.0 Absolutely horrendous, on arrival, the manager was very nice, this is not a Boutique Hotel, this is a pub! Very dingy and dirty, grubby going upstairs to the rooms, very dark, stairs carpet dirty, My room Beatrice was so tiny and I kept banging into things. No toilet roll and I only noticed this once I went to bed. Shower tray was very dirty and I found out why, at midnight once I went to bed, the downlight in the shower had water coming out dripping all night into the tray, I THOUGHT THAT COULD HAVE BEEN VERY DANGEROUS WATER SHOULD NOT BE COMING OUT OF A LIGHT!! I had to throw all the towels in to stop the tapping all night, could not sleep as bed moved all over the floor. Could not get full access to Wardrobe, as they had a dressing table pushed up against it very odd indeed, very dark room. The other 3 rooms were taken up with our friends who also had there own problems with their rooms. If we all had not been drinking we would have left , however could not drive and no where else to stay, needless to say we were all out of their by 8 the following morning , no one on premises through the night, only us 8 people in the pub all night so no one you could complain too. Not very good security I might add. Also the TV in our room did not work, only wanted to put that on to drown out the noise from the overcrowded party going on in the bar downstairs. also all back doors open and easy access to the rooms upstairs which could be very dangerous Also they took the payment out of my Bank account the whole amount of £595.00 a week before they should have , when all our friends were supposed to pay their own bills, if we had not paid upfront, we would never have styed there and demanded a refund, on arrival and no way of getting our money back for such a horrible stay What a waste of £595.00, THIS IS NOT A HOTEL IT IS A DARK DIRTY DINGY PUB, such a shame the Manager was a nice guy and not around for us in the morning to complain too PLEASE SHOW THAT IT IS NOT A BOUTIQUE HOTEL AS I WOULD NOT WANT ANYONE ELSE TO EXPERIENCE WHAT WE DID A DIRTY PUB NOT A BOUTIQUE HOTEL WHATSOVER

We were a party of 8 x 60 + year olds. On arrival we found the staff to be friendly and in fact we all spent a couple of hours in the bar. At no time during that afternoon were we told that we should expect extremely loud music going on until midnight or later. Arriving back at the pub after dining out we had to negotiate a packed pub in order to get to the stairs to the rooms. The nights stay that followed was a very unpleasant experience for all. So much so that we all left by 8.30am. One room had the extractor fan above the shower hanging down exposing a hole in the ceiling. Coffee cups showed residue of something inside them. Everyone complained of being cold overnight. Another room had a dirty shower tray which it later transpired resulted from water leaking through the light fitting!!! Also not forgetting the bed that moved across the room when you sat on it !! TV's not working. Of course we couldn't complain to anyone because there was no-one on site and quite honestly we couldn't get out of there quick enough. I think £595.00 for the 4 rooms is daylight robbery. 2 x £160.00, 1 x£140, 1×£135. Another point to note is that we were supposed to pay at the property but the money was taken from the Bookers account a week before. We really feel we have been ripped off. Definitely not the "Boutique" experience expected.

Stayed at the joiners for two nights in October - me and a friend. We went into a lovely warm friendly pub. The staff greet you with smile and all seemed happy and friendly. The owner Ollie was there and made us a really nice coffee as we arrived on a Thursday afternoon. Rooms are so lovely with such nice decor and warm comfy space. Beds were very comfortable and we got a big free standing bed in room. Come the evening we went into the pub and had some wines which we thought was nice and normal prices. The girl at bar lady kindly suggested a good Indian up the road to try which we could walk to. Overall very comfy stay at decent price with nice people thanks so much for having us!

Had a lovely stay at no 64. Staff was very friendly and helpful and had a great weekend. Will definitely stay again. Had a live singer on which we really enjoyed and was guided where to go for dinner etc. The landlord couldn’t have been more helpful. Lovely old fashioned pub

On arrival at the pub/hotel we were told that the pub shuts at around 10.30 -11.00pm and if we returned after it was closed the rear yard has a gate that will be open which then leads to a back door with a digital lock. The code is in the room guide along with emergency number. On our return from a retirement party in the town the pub was indeed shut. The back gate was also shut and locked. We therefore were locked out. I tried calling their emergency number a lot of times but only answer phone was available. I left voicemail message each time stressing the urgency. My wife and i are mid60's so not able to scale a tall double gate ! Or car keys and belongings were in the room. After about 25-30 minutes of discussing what to do a female passer by offered to help and tried calling someone she knew involved with the pub. But she had no joy either. In the end she scaled the gate and unlocked the gate from the inside. The back door of the pub was wide open which in itself is a security risk but we got into the room. In the morning we tried to shower but there was no hot water and no heating, we even left the shower running for 10 minutes just in case, but no shower for us at all. The double bed is two singles pushed together and on casters which slides all over the room when sat on. Their is no staff on site at all during the night and morning until pub opens at 1200. This place is a joke and did not respond to my voice messages or emails. They charged £120 for this appalling excuse for a hotel. Do not stay here you'll regret it.

Very disappointed with the customer service at this hotel, I accidentally left a very sentimental item in the room when I stayed at the hotel, I contacted them straight away to ask them to check for it and send it back to me (I offered to pay for the postage) but I had no response to numerous emails, phone calls, and also messages on their Facebook page. I live over 5 hrs away from the hotel so could not go back to see them in person. I am incredibly distraught to have lost this item and extremely disappointed with the customer service here, they did not even acknowledge my emails or messages, this is very poor customer service!
