Having read excellent reviews, Lyngen Lodge lived up to expectations. Elisabeth, Graham and Veronica are excellent hosts, with a great team. Thank you especially to Jenna and Camille. The comfortable lodge is in a fabulous location, with superb views of the fjord and Lyngen Alps. Sauna, jacuzzi and fjord made for great relaxation, and every meal was delicious. Our time spent exploring the local area by boat was fun, and the other guests, part of a yoga retreat made for a most enjoyable stay. I feel revived and refreshed, and will endeavour to visit the lodge in the not too distant future.

This lovely remote lodge situated in the Lyngen Alps, in Northern Norway, was extraordinary. The setting was absolutely gorgeous, the food beautiful and delicious, and the staff and owners so friendly and helpful. The only downside were the very small, but very cute bedrooms. It was a wonderful place to experience the Northern Lights. One minute you’re eating a sumptuous meal and the next you’re rushing outside to view the lights. Again, it was an extraordinary place and experience. If you get the chance, go, go, go.

I am out of superlatives to describe my wonderful recent experience at Lyngen Lodge. From the courteous driver who transported me from my hotel in Tromso to the final wave goodbye from Graham and Veronika, the most charming hosts I have ever had the pleasure to meet, this entire holiday rates as one of the best ever. The Lodge is a lesson in how every 5 star hotel should be run and were it possible to clone Graham and Veronika, every five star hotel could have this magic. The rooms are absolute charm, the food imaginative and delicious, the activities are totally inclusive with every age group admirably catered for by highly experienced and knowledgeable personnel. Naturally most people are excited to see the Northern Lights and we had two occasions to see this amazing kaleidoscope in the sky. All available information as to the very best place to see the lights leads to the Lyngen Fjiord. We didn’t even have to move from the terrace! The staff in the lodge keep their eyes open and we all keep cameras ready at the dinner table to go out when the call comes! How fabulous is that! Graham is a talented photographer himself and will always help you get the very best photos. As I said earlier I have run out of superlatives so suffice to say please don’t ever change as perfection is as good as it’s possible to get.

I have been trying to find the words to explain my experience but I still struggle. The other 5 star reviews you will read about Lyngen Lodge are not an exaggeration - everything is REAL. The biggest shout-out goes to the entire staff who are so well trained and exceptional there is no doubt they truly love what they do. The lodge is located in one of the most remote and magnificent places on earth with the most extraordinary views. You will see the Northern Lights, go on an Orca safari, do some dogsledding and a whole host of other winter based activities. Everything is so perfectly planned you don’t have to worry about anything. Veronika and Graham truly run an excellent business. Be prepared to meet the most inspiring and well travelled guests during your time at the lodge. I will not easily forget the people I met on this trip. Phew!! Thank you so much Lyngen Lodge!

Don't think twice. This was one of my favorite travel experiences ever. We were at the lodge in November. Every day was a memorable adventure with fantastic guides - dog sledding, snowshoeing on a frozen lake, and whale watching. Plus the Northern Lights, a wood-fired sauna, amazing (abundant) food, gracious hospitality, super cozy rooms, lounge areas with a warm fire. And a garage full of gear to make sure you're ready for the elements. Veronika and Graham and the outstanding Lyngen team (including Finlay and Aurora) will take amazing care of you. Highly, highly recommended!

Tucked away in the snow-capped Lyngen Alps, this lodge is in one of the most picturesque spots I've seen. The food, common-spaces, and experiences are all great. The rooms are tiny and the service is uneven - still worth going, but read-on to know what is in store. Breakfast is an excellent buffet. A basic lunch is usually served out on an excursion (Moose stew, etc). Afternoon Tea would make any Englishman proud and features cheese, savory snacks and cakes. Dinner is served around a communal table and was quite delicious. All food is included but drinks are extra. A beer is about $8 and a TINY pour of bourbon is around $13. You can BYOB for your room (but not the common areas). We did the dogsledding and snowshoeing/snowmobiling experience. Both were great, were a 30 minute van drive away, and included a basic lunch. Snowshoeing/snowmobiling features a ride on the back of snowmobile to the top of a glacier, a short walk and a bit of traditional fishing (with about 0 chance of catching a fish). The snowshoeing was easy, I would have preferred it to be a bit longer and faster. The rooms are tiny. There is a King size bed touching the walls on 3 sides and once you unpack your cold weather gear there is not much room to maneuver. The bathroom and shower are tiny too, in the shower I could barely maneuver to reach my feet. In fact, one day I showered in the communal shower near the indoor sauna. The small rooms are offset by the lovely and comfortable common spaces. Plus, the outdoor sauna makes for a fun experience. Lyngen provides the cold weather gear you need for excursions - there are snowsuits, hats and gloves. The service was lackluster and often there was no staff around. My one regret is not skiing. It seems like that is the highlight of the lodge. If I could change one thing I'd try to squeeze in a second activity in the afternoon. I don't know if the lodge facilitates this, but it would have been nice to see more in the short time we were there. We stayed 3 nights and I wouldn't do any less. If you're into skiing you could easily spend a week here. Plus, it was cloudy the 3 nights we were there so we didn't see the Northern Lights. Luckily we say them earlier in the trip so it wasn't a big disappointment.

We had an exquisite week at the lodge. Every detail is somebody's focus, and everything that matters has been thoughtfully curated. Each member of the team is a master of their craft, and they go far beyond expectations to make the experience special. This is among the most beautiful places on earth, and the lodge adventures allow one to be fully immersed in the surrounding beauty. We alpine ski toured, dogsledded, ice-fished, cold-plunged and gazed at the northern lights. Any one of these things would have made a single trip great, but we enjoyed them all. Many thanks to the Lyngen Team. We'll be back before too long.

It is even nicer than home, the cozy, tastefully decorated house, amazing food, great excursions and, last but not least, the warm welcome from the hosts and their team. And then we were lucky enough to get to know other nice guests from Thailand and England. When the sun came out on the last day and the northern lights shimmered all evening, it was heaven in Norway, we are very grateful and would love to come back!!!

The lodge is a dream. The staff and the owners are very friendly and accommodating. The excursions were simply fantastic. And the food is so delicious. The rooms are big enough. The location is just fantastic. We will go there again.
