I travelled to Sapa by the overnight train from Hanoi in April,2024. I had a booking at the homestay for 2 days and extended the same by another 2 days and the sole reason was the super helpful nature of the owner. She is extra sweet and went out of her way to book a ticket both for the Fansipan trip and the bus ride back to Hanoi. The room was basic but clean and large with a clean washroom having hot water and adequate pressure. The food was nice and cooked with love. It was such a nice gesture when she came to drop me for the bus with a packet of bread and cookies and would not accept any money for doing so. May her tribe grow.....

Unfortunately Sapa Tatu overbooked us even though we booked on Agoda and confirmed via WhatsApp that we could stay an extra night. They put us up at Green Homestay down the road, but the host at Sapa Tatu did cook us breakfast and was very apologetic and gave us a free beer and water because she felt so bad. She doesn't speak English but the person we corresponded with did so not sure what went on... Green homestay was only ok, the room had no AC and no nets on the windows so we let a lot of bugs in trying to cool the room down though there is a fan. Good little balcony and view if it's clear. No soap whatsoever provided, water pressure is low but there is hot water.
