This hotel is known for its garden and views, but other aspects leave a lot to be desired. In fact, the hotel was quite disappointing. The hotel definitely does not meet the standards of a boutique hotel, as it describes itself. - rooms are ok, conformable, but basic. - PREJUDICED treatment by the staff. I felt a huge difference in treatment between European and North American guests and Latin guests. I had never experienced this before in a hotel and I found it very serious. - It definitely does not work for long stays or as a base for exploring the Sacred Valley, precisely because it is at the train station. The place has a strong smell of BURNING FUEL, and there is TRAIN NOISE all the time. You wake up and go to sleep to the sound of whistles, which is very chaotic and unpleasant. - There are other much better options in the city. - It is about 10 minutes from the center, with a reasonable climb. And you have to wait in lines of train passengers to get into your hotel every day. - Breakfast is REPETITIVE AND WITHOUT VARIETY. Simpler hotels in the area had infinitely better coffee. However, it seems to be standard for the hotel, a jacket that other guests have complained about in past reviews and nothing has been done. They say they will improve in the responses to reviews and nothing has changed. - Professional staff, but IMPATIENT AND IRRITATED. They are resistant to simple requests. - I asked for computer at the reception to view a personal document that can only be accessed via computers. They did not allow me to use it, and there was no other available for guests to use. - A hotel of this value has no amenities whatsoever, only soap. There is no shower cap, skin moisturizer, cotton wool. I have never seen this in hotels that classify themselves as ”boutique”.

Hotel Luz Garden was great! The staff treated us like family and were very nice! They came by each night to see what time we wanted breakfast and even let us stay in our room a little later so we didn't have to set around town waiting for or train. I will definitely stay here again.

Let me start I was skeptical while booking but when I reached here my stay was fantastic. Location: it is a wonderful location directly on the river and 4 minutes walk from railway station and bus as well as all the restaurants. Service: Christian and Judith provided the best possible service. Breakfast was the best. Free Wifi Internet was good Allowed to keep our luggage after checkout free of charge Overall I would love to stay again here!

The hotel is a budget hotel with general facilities. But the time is very good and the service is very good. The pick-up and drop-off are free and the service attitude is really good! Good value for money. I have set up their suite with an invincible terrace! The hotel has 24-hour hot tea, hot water and hot coffee at the front desk. You can drink it when you enter the door, which is very convenient!

Firstly I will start with the positives, the hotel was nice with beautiful greenery surrounding. The decor certainly wasn’t modern however it was perfectly fine. Secondly the negatives, customer service was inadequate. Two of us are vegetarian and one morning we had to leave before breakfast opened so were told we would have ‘takeaway breakfast’. We clarified that these would be vegetarian three times (at checkin, the night before and in the morning when collecting the bags) but when we got on our journey we found they both contained ham. This is absolutely unacceptable and I hope they treat allergens more seriously or they could kill someone. When we mentioned this to the receptionist she just smiled and nodded and said ‘oh okay’, which is not an acceptable response. Also you have to pay for water here which we were absolutely fine with. When we bought a second lot on the second day we realised we had paid double the amount the previous day. When I said this to the receptionist again she just nodded and after a long pause said she would call someone. Other members of our tour group also agreed they had paid double the price the previous day. The following morning the receptionist was extremely rude and told us we were lying. She also told us, in a borderline threatening manner, that everything we do is on camera which is a bit weird given we were in a hotel so hoping she didn’t mean ‘everything’ as that’s a gross invasion of privacy. When we asked to watch the camera footage she was speaking of she told us it wasn’t available. The amount of money was not significant but the reaction of staff was wholly inappropriate - especially for a hospitality business. Overall would not recommend anyone stay here. Customer service skills require a lot of improvement.

This is such a peaceful lodge. There were 3 vendors in the courtyard selling Peruvian items and artwork. There was also a woman weaving the Peruvian cloth. There are a couple of alpacas on the property that they move around the grounds. We had some leftovers from lunch and a worker was so gracious by heating it up for us and providing silverware. The breakfast is awesome. Just walking around the grounds was nice and relaxing. The room was very clean and nice as well. We were able to leave our luggage here since you are not allowed to take more than 1 backpack on the train to Machu Picchu.

One of the most unique and romantic places I have ever stayed. We had one night but wished we had stayed longer. The resort is located on a stunning and quiet location with beautifully decorated rooms. We loved our dinner and breakfast and the service was exceptional. I think it was Gualha who served us at breakfast- he was such a gentleman. The spa and massage treatments were the best. We floated back to our rooms. The whole experience was exceptional. Thank you

GGuest UserIt is one of the most beautiful lodgings I have ever visited. I stayed there for 3 days and 2 nights. The rooms are very clean. The service is very good. I recommend it to all people who are going to visit Ollantaytambo. The owner, Mr. Rolando, is a well-educated and kind person. He gave them all the facilities that one could need.
GGirl_with_eyes_closedAmazing place in Urubamba! I rested here for two nights and wouldn’t wish for anything more. The room was very comfortable with big bed, tall ceilings, hot shower and two heathers. Breakfast was super yummy and dinner was even better ! Highly recommend to stay here if you are traveling through Sacred Valley (Pisac doesn’t have nice hotels like this and is only 30 min away)
GGuest UserWe were very welcome and welcomed. The hotel is about 5 min walking from the train station. Easy access. The girl at the reception has served us with great sympathy and attention! He was early up for us to prepare a coffee.. simple but tasty! The room is simple.. But it's the necessary for the stay. Heat water shower and super comfortable bed. Quiet for a good night sleep. Far from the street muvuca. It was very kind of her to keep our bags while we went up to Machu Pichu. I recommend!
FFreqTrvl75A bit surprised the hotel is that highly rated. It was certainly decent but for the price (or cheaper) you can find many better alternatives. A staff member met me at the train station and escorted me to the hotel which was a nice touch and just a short 5 minute walk. I reserved one of the deluxe rooms. The use of the word deluxe is done loosely. The room was quite small but the worst part (and perhaps should have caught it earlier) is that the room didn’t have any AC system. It was quite stuffy. You could leave the window open but not only it didn’t provide much inbound fresh air but you’d be subjected to loud noise (music, people, crying babies) from the street. If you are a light sleeper expect it to be challenging with the noise. Bathroom was small but sufficient. Bring some toiletries since they only provide shampoo and conditioner (I guess you can repurpose the hand soap as well). The mattress is rock hard so if you like it then it’ll work well for you. I also found the pillows to be uncomfortable. The complimentary breakfast buffet was elaborate and probably has more items than you’d care to eat early morning before exploring Machu Picchu. They also provide a buffet lunch for around $20 USD and a la carte dinner. I tried the lunch buffet and it was also very elaborate. On the site they have a picture of a jacuzzi so I assumed it was part of the hotel guest amenities. I was wrong. They have a spa but you need to pay a day pass to access the amenities. Check out time is 10am so if you’re hiking and/or visiting Machu Picchu in the morning plan accordingly since they charge a hefty amount if you request a late check out. The night prior I asked for a Noon check out and they said it would be $50 USD. Ultimately I would consider this property more average than upscale.
GGuest UserBed was really comfortable. Johan and Marie were so accommodating. We arrived in the evening after a long day of trekking and they got us to our rooms very quickly and understanding of how tired we were. The water was so loud being by the river at the end of rainy season that we were lulled to sleep both nights. All-natural sound machine. Hotel is close to everything. Rooms were clean and decorated uniquely. Breakfast in the morning was great, on top of the buffet Marie also scrambled eggs for anyone who requested. We had a great stay.
PP250Think of the furthest from train station, bus to machu picchu and restaurants, there is this hotel. However the service is really nice and the room is real clean. They cook me this breakfast. i love it apart from the location.
GGuest UserNice place, excellent price. Everything in walking distance. Train is under the window it can get loud but you probably will be to tired from hikes and won’t notice it as much ! Would stay again. Thank you hotel for helping with luggage storage and being super friendly!
