Bula! If you are a person that believes luxury comes from extravagance this resort is probably not for you. If you are like myself and believe that luxury is derived from natural beauty and the people in it this is the resort for you! The stay at this resort came with incomprehensible hospitality. The staff were absolute excellent. I will call some of the staff friends for life. I'm not sure if this is unique to Sau Bay or just Fiji hospitality but its incredible. It definitely beats the cement cities I'm used to! The natural beauty is breathtaking as well. The location is perfectly remote yet accessible. The food is fresh and all seems to be 100% from scratch. I took this trip with a group of over ten of scuba divers. All pretty advanced. The dive staff was incredible and the reefs are breathtaking. The white wall definitely should be added to YOUR bucket list. Catering to a group of over 12 is also very difficult and the staff did an excellent job catering to each one of our needs. If any issues arose they were squashed quickly and fairly. From a guided hike to "the top of the world", guided island tour with waterfalls, date line and city tour staff members were by our side and at our beck and call! It was hard to admire the excellent service through the breathtaking natural environment. I had three spa services which were all three some of the best treatments I've ever had. I'm talking Four Seasons treatments with the music replaced with lapping water and the hum of the natural environment. I would love to shout out every member of the staff by name, but I would hate to leave a single person out. They all are incredible. Visit Sau Bay! Vinahka staff! I will definitely be back.

If you’re seeking an extraordinary dive and snorkel adventure paired with top-tier hospitality, Sau Bay Resort is an absolute gem. We were captivated not just by the proximity to Rainbow Reef—renowned as one of the best diving spots on the planet—but also by the resort’s personalized and genuinely warm service. Because they are so remote, food selection is limited but the offerings are delicious, conscientiously catered to dietary restrictions and allergies, made with love and care, and with hyper-local ingredients. We were full and happy after every meal. In fact, I was craving fresh papaya and was offered it after every lunch and dinner! All food is included, including cooked breakfast, making Sau Bay top notch value. At the bar, for a non-alcoholic option, try the fresh lemonade, made with a glassful of sweet juiced and crushed lemons, simple syrup to taste, and fresh mint from the garden. The dive and snorkel sites are unparalleled, offering vibrant marine life and coral formations that will blow any underwater enthusiast away. The reefs are pristine and healthy, and Sau Bay is doing their part to keep them like that. The dive pros are experts and give one-on-one guidance for anyone who needs a little extra hand holding. Whether you’re a seasoned diver or a snorkeling novice, the expert guides ensure an incredible experience. The fact that you’re right on the reef means less time in the boat every day, and more time in the water. What truly elevates the experience, though, is the staff. Every detail is attended to with care, from the moment you arrive until the time you reluctantly leave. The team made us feel like family, catering to our needs in a way that felt both personal and effortless. Note this is an eco resort so plan/pack accordingly — there is no pool, convenience store of snacks, or TVs — but the WiFi by the shore is fast, they have a fully stocked bar, a nice collection of books to borrow, and a fantastic swing / some lovely hammocks by the water to read them in. The beach also isn’t great for swimming, but divers/snorkelers will be so fascinated by the underwater world right outside their front door, they won’t miss it. Be sure to check out Sau Bay Sanctuary for top-notch snorkeling the day before you fly when you can’t dive: it’s 5 mins away by boat and the coral are the perfect depth for snorkelers. We went in September and the visibility of all the dive and snorkel sights were fantastic. Our massages were also blissful — right on the water, with the sunlight coming in through the white curtains and only the sound of the waves on the shore! Highly recommended. Sau Bay is a very small resort offering 100% personalized service. This meant semi-private or private activities, as well as dining. The owner Leo went above and beyond customizing us a diving and snorkeling package perfectly suited to us. For an unforgettable blend of adventure and relaxation, and exceptional value for small-group diving around the Rainbo

We had a week there, and it was relaxing, beautiful, peaceful. It’s an intimate holiday location, with just 7 bures. The staff were amazing, and looked after us in the friendliest way. We had the dining package that covered all our meals, and it was delicious food, and plenty of it. We worked our way through the cocktails list during the week, and had lots of favourites! The resort is right on the bay, and the bures all just metres from the spectacular waters. Snorkelling right out front was excellent. It was a short 15min dive-boat ride to start exploring Rainbow Reef. The guided dives were fantastic.

I am leaving Sau Bay today and am sad to go home. This place is AMAZING! The staff are all very accommodating. The diving at Rainbow Reef is PHENOMENAL, but of course, subject to the weather. The bures are quite comfortable. I do have a few comments and suggestions for the management. These are not deal breakers for me but should be noted for the most well-traveled scuba divers who are also underwater photographers. There are not enough facilities to safely store and wash underwater gear. The staff had to be asked for a container for rinsing my camera. The other issue relating to gear is that the sand is very coarse here. It is hard to remove from gear so there might be some thought put into making more of the areas around the dive shop hard cement to avoid getting sand in bad places. Divers should also be prepared to be out on the boat for at least 2 dives at a time without coming back to shore. Another item of feedback is that the management should ask about food allergies and preferences before arrival. The staff was unprepared to accommodate all of my preferences due to the remoteness of this resort. I made due since they were not allergies (just preferences). Lastly, the management should improve the internet speeds. I think they are using one Starlink to service the entire resort. That is insufficient for this many people.

This was the best place to visit for me. I love the experience of being at the Sau Bay Retreat in Fiji. The owner Leo Rebele was very friendly and helpful and wanted our crew to have the best time there. We went on some great scuba diving trips and excursions to the islands near by. I went for the scuba diving but experienced much more. The welcome was a special treat as the staff performed a traditional ceremony, the same was done upon departure. The staff anticipated and took care of our every need. The accommodations were very nice and well maintained. The meals were fantastic, fresh fruit, refreshing drinks and some traditional dishes that were very delicious. Traditional Fiji entertainment was also a treat. Every night after dinner there was singing , sharing traditional drinks like Kava and there was a Fire Dance performance by the staff members. The daily scuba diving trips were especially memorable. Our crew went diving on some beautiful sites including the “The Great White Wall” a beautiful reef that appears to go to depths below 200 feet. The Sau Bay Retreat also features an impressive scuba diving facility with an excellent and knowledgeable crew including the owner Leo ( also a scuba diver) that takes care of all diving needs and activities. It was much more than I expected. I highly recommend the Sau Bay Resort as a perfect place to stay and enjoy even if you’re not a scuba diver. I will definitely be revisiting this place in the near future. Meet me there!!

Stayed at Sau Bay Resort the end of March as 1 of 2 non-diving guests in a group of Divers. I have never been so warmly welcomed as we were when we arrived on the beach by the amazing staff who remembered our names and whose wonderful hospitalityatb this secluded resort never wavered. The Divers in our group had nothing but praise for the superb Diving crew and the dives sites they were taken to on the Rainbow Reef. As a non-diver after seeing the divers off each morning Siah, Kasia and Lui always made sure that I was comfortable and had all I needed. I took advantage of the Somosomo Spa having several massages and facials by the superb Charlotte and Maria as I listened to the sound of gentle waves on the beach! I made use of the of the kayaks and snorkeling gear as well as the comfortable furniture in the Main building to simply relax, read a book and do jigsaw puzzles on the days we had rain. My bure was well appointed with a very comfortable bed. The gourmet food prepared by Laisa and Maura was delicious with excellent presentation and service. The evening entertainment by Lui and Danny was fun and added to the enjoyment of our stay. I could go on and on about the staff like Riko who climbed a tree to get me a fresh coconut to enjoy, Tony who opened the boutique when we wanted to shop and Abe who greeted me in the early morning with a warm Bula as I sat on my bure’s porch. Suffice it to say my stay was restful, enjoyable and very memorable. Vinaka vaka levu Sau Bay Resort!

Sau bay was more beautiful than I ever could have imagined! The water was warm and clear the dives were epic! Massages are a must so factor that into the budget or you will miss a relaxing ocean view relaxing experience. The white wall and rainbow reef are just a short boat ride and the diving was so amazing! The food was phenomenal and most of it is all grown there at the property! Had a wonderful time and can’t wait to return!

Sau Bay was such an amazing experiment in 2023 that 11 of made a second trip in 2024 for not one, but two consecutive weeks. Fantastic diving, incredible dive masters providing concierge type service on their boats. And fantastic 5 star dining too. The entire staff and crew are welcoming and caring and exhibit excellent service during our stay. This is truly a luxury dive resort and must do destination!

I can not recommend Sau Bay Resort enough! And I hesitate to reveal this little gem. Let me begin with how kind the staff are; Anthony, Louie, Sarah, Dani, Freddy, Lotu, Carl, Mary and (if I Have missed anyone I apologize)! I was a solo female traveler and felt safe- very safe! The Dive team Lotu and Carl ( and Sarahs son) were fantastic and took me to the right areas to see The White wall, cabbage patch, and all over the rainbow reef. I am vegetarian and the food was outstanding. The conversations with the staff over Kava were in-depth and informative. They sing to you coming in and when you leave. They kept the grounds impeccable and were always accommodating, working and preparing for the next event. They treated me like royalty. And I am not blowing smoke- cuz I traveled all over Fiji and this resort has it- They are family and you can feel it! I will return! Make sure to have the Pina Colada with the Pina Colada song......
