We were traveling home from clearwater Fl to New Orleans and found this hidden Gem. This motel was extremely clean and neat. It had a comfortable king size bed, nice sheets and comforter, nice sized tv, remotes that worked, a microwave, small fridge, and a tv guide for the channels. It is just a clean comfortable spot to rest your head on your travels. The price was very reasonable the desk cleark super friendly and helpful. The owner was a very nice woman who really cares and wanted to make sure our stay was a good one. This place was 100% better than the place we stayed at in clearwater beach. In a nut shell we had a crappy spot at the beach but we were walking distance to the beach. Had a great clean comfortable place in the middle of nowhere and we will stop again when we travel back to florida. We have stopped at other hotels, motels off I-10 that were gross and more money. Need a spot to rest give this place a try. Thank you motel Ponce De Leon!

Upon arriving at this motel on Christmas Eve, I could immediately tell it was a bit dated. The lady at the front desk was very nice, (first impressions mean a lot to me!) I know hotel owners are really struggling during this terrible Covid crisis, so ”almost” decided to not leave a review, yet I think it's important for owners to know what their customers think of their experiences. The room was quite small. Two double beds scrunched in. Not pleased to find a few cockroaches crawling around. The hot water in the shower wasn't hot enough. This is the second location I've stayed at a Sleep Inn at and both motels don't have a ”dedicated” door (with a handle) for their tiny restrooms, rather a sliding door that's difficult to navigate. I was told by the front desk lady that due to Covid, there would be no maid service. Again,she was very friendly, and switched out dirty towels for clean no problem. Hopefully, once this pandemic is over with, motels like this will get back to making the necessary improvements to their properties. I'll close by saying ”you get what you pay for.” Though just expected a ”little” more for the $90 per night we paid for the 3 nights.

The rooms were large, well furnished and comfortable. Complimentary cooked to order breakfast in the morning and cocktails in the afternoon. Staff was very helpful, friendly and polite—always smiling. Walk across the street to the beach or eat or shop. Food was delicious . We LOVED it. . We will go back.

. My suggestion is to add more options for non pork eaters : chicken sausage, turkey bacon, or even beef bacon...

GGuest UserMy husband and I recently stayed at the Hilton Sandestin for a conference/ vacation, and after this experience, will never return. The first night we stayed they put us in a room that looked like it had been vacant for a while, and not recently cleaned-- food crumbs on the floor and noticeable dust on the furniture. There was also a roach on the wall. We figured, this is Florida, there will be an occasional roach. I did, however, mention it to the front desk and ask that someone come clean our room as it appeared dirty. No one came. Flash forward two nights later-- after killing 10 roaches, we asked for a new room. It was late in the day because we had been waiting for the manager to call us back. They couldn't accommodate us for several reasons. The next morning, I got a text from the front desk saying they had a new room available BUT I had 1 hour to move into the room or it would be given away. Thankfully, my husband stayed close by the room that day and was able to move us. On top of all this, we mentioned the incident to hotel waitstaff later that day and he said it didn't surprise him at all. They know there is a roach problem in the Spa Tower. The new room was an upgrade for the final night we were there, which was nice, but no real restitution was made for our 2 nights previous. For our trouble, they gave us a credit at the beach bar. This was the worst hotel experience.

GGuest UserI was traveling from Las Vegas to Orlando, FL over the course of 4 days when I encountered a major mechanical breakdown 8 miles from DeFuniak. After traveling 2000 miles through rain and snow, I was forced to bring the trip to an end. I wound up off the interstate at this Red Roof Inn and completely satisfied with the modern amenities, great air conditioning and heating and ice cold refrigerator. The manager was even gracious enough to help me load a trike onto a Uhaul auto dolly after I spent an hour attempting to load it alone without damaging the low hanging front bumper cover and undercarraige. It was nice to have a warm and quiet place to rest after a grueling trek across the United States. I was able to get home 8 homes later feeling refreshed.

GGuest UserLove being able to not worry about a thing when we come to the beach! Matt LaBounty and his team have those chairs and umbrellas set up before I even roll out of bed! They even came to check on us multiple times and I can’t think of a better way to rest and relax than having someone help make the sand an easier place to just relax…. Thanks for all your help!

I've been staying at Choice Hotels for many years; however, do yourself a favor: read the reviews and do your research before you book your stay/arrive. The rate I got was $75.00 per night (June 20th - 22nd; stayed only one night); I should have known that rate was too good to be true. Speaking only for our king room, I had to keep the a/c on 71 to keep the humidity down (which didn't quite work - it stayed humid the entire night); anything chrome/chrome plated was rusty; the microwave and fridge were dirty; the coffee pot hadn't been washed since who knows when; and the fan in the bathroom was filthy. We walked down the hill to the Waffle House (there is a Starbucks also). Choice Hotels website advertised breakfast (there isn't any; in fact, the lobby remains locked 24/7; they have a window to do business). Also advertised: laundry. The one washing machine and dryer are in the breezeway; the washer was out of order (I doubt if the dryer worked). Also located in this area is the ice machine, which didn't work either. It looked like there was a lot of equipment in the breezeway that was inoperable. I didn't check for bugs in the room because I was afraid I might find some. The amenities listed aren't available (especially if they are to be located in the lobby). It is also my opinion that the owners live on the premises; which is not really that unusual. Either that or there are a couple of special rooms that have window blinds. These rooms are located in the corner next to the main entrance. Parked outside these rooms were a Tesla, Audi and Maserati. There are some who don't mind these types of rooms. For me, this particular motel is off the list.
