Reserved a one night stay. Arrived at Hampton Inn & checked in. Went to the room & found the the room to be substandard. The room was small with low ceiling , the furnishings were worn , not very clean . the bed spread a mark on it, the couch was worn & old. We returned to the check in desk & told the employee that it wasn’t acceptable & that we could not stay there. I asked for a refund. The clerk said that we had made the reservation through a 2nd party “Trip.com & payment was to them. I contacted them & was led to believe that I would receive a full refund. We checked into a nicer hotel. Within 2 days I was told that they couldn’t give us a refund. Trip.com & Hampton continued to blame each other for the problems. So we ended up paying for both rooms. Neither Trip.com or Hampton would take responsibility. I recommend that guests not stay at this Hampton Inn… it was just a run down hotel with poor management. If we had been told that we would not get our money back we wouldn’t have stayed & not paid for a 2nd room. Trip.com was awful & could not give us answers. We will never do businesses with either again. Avoid staying here when visiting Waycross, Ga.
