The perfume smell smacks you in the face when you walk into the room. It was so strong that we instantly started getting headaches. Luckily we have a big fan we carry on trips. So, we left the door open and ran it to clear out the room. (The smell never went away)
There was dust EVERYWHERE, crumbs still on the chair from the previous guests and hair on the bathroom floor. The heating/air unit was filthy and covers in thick dust.
After a 5-hour drive, we had to go to the store to buy cleaning supplies so we could clean the room that we paid to stay in. I wiped down the TV and the top of microwave, the dust was black. We didn't even bother bringing food back because we didn't want to use the microwave and couldn't even walk around the room without shoes on.
Once we settled for the night, I put the "Do not Disturb" sign on the door. The next morning we were trying to sleep in a little before having to heading out. We were woke up by housekeeping even after the sign was up. We gave our dirty towels to housekeeping and never got new ones. We had brought towels, but needed some to step on after the shower.
It had gotten cool the last night, so we turned on the heat for the first time. My partner woke up and saw roaches in the bathroom.
We stayed here because it was in our budget last minute. We didn't expect anything high end, we're staying at the Days Inn not the Hilton. Cosmetic damage isnt a big deal, but cleanliness is. It doesn't take much to be clean.
Never again
