Stayed 2 nights as a base for a wedding at the Ventnor Botanical Gardens. The host, Chris, was very friendly and helpful; rooms spacious, comfortable and clean with good en-suites. Off-road parking easy. Very good breakfasts to set us up for the day! Would definitely return if visiting the area again, thank you!

We stayed at Kingsmede last week and had such a lovely stay. Chris was incredibly friendly and welcoming, the room was a very good size and so peaceful! Breakfast was also booked perfectly and kept us full for our adventures around the Island Would strongly recomend this stay! Many Thanks Gisu & Shaun

A charming place, with a rich history of this small town]. .Welcome and hospitable hosts Chris and his wife. Delicious breakfasts and a charming, well-kept garden where your pet is allowed to walk. Close to all historical places to visit Recommended, Natalia and Keith

Exceeded our expectations. Chris cooked fabulous, massive breakfasts and was very welcoming and friendly. His local knowledge was invaluable and freely given which helped us plan our walks. Little extras like torches (in case of power cuts - we didn't have any :-) and a shared fridge for your milk and things were an unexpected touch. Whitwell is a great location for exploring the Island and we were lucky to have a week's stay with hardly any rain. Top marks to Kingsmede and Chris & wife Kelly. You won't be disappointed.

Thank you to the proprietor Chris for a great stay last weekend. Pretty cottage, above standard comfort, and the proprietor did everything he could to make our stay as enjoyable as it was. Also, on-site parking. Dogs allowed. Use of the garden available.

The property is a period house and the owner Chris has kept it to that style, very clean with a excellent breakfast cooked to perfection by Chris with a wide and varied choice of food.
Whitwell is a designated dark sky area with some very pretty houses lots of thatched roofs,the local pub is only a few minutes walk and well worth a visit,the food is excellent.
I would definitely recommend a stay at Kingsmede ,it fulfilled all my wife and I hopes

A very walk welcome. Wonderful hospitality and a lovely comfortable twin bedded room overlooking the garden. We enjoyed an excellent breakfast allowing for dietary needs. I look forward to visiting again. Convenient with on site parking

Property provided a home from home experience with superb breakfast the icing on the cake. Information was available in lounge but the host gave so much more giving us an extremely enjoyable couple of days. Will be returning in the future.

We booked this some weeks ago and were offered a deal with Red Funnel, which we used although Wightlink are closer. the ferry trip was lovely. We were greeted by Chris who made us very welcome. The room, bed and breakfast were first class, in fact good enough for us to want to return again in the near future. The location was perfect and allowed easy access to the island, especially the southern area.
