Hotels Near Arise Church Curacao in Willemstad

I stayed here for 15 nights in Jan/Feb 2022. The price was brilliant – about £34 per night in peak season. The reception is on the first floor (UK floor terminology, or 2nd floor for US!) via lift. My room was on the 3rd floor which apparently was recently refurbished. The accommodation is basic. There is no wardrobe – there are 8 coat hangers, a suitcase stand, a room safe, a drawer, two bedside cubby holes, a double bed, good air conditioning and a flat screen TV (with UK, US and Dutch channels). The floors are tiled. The bathroom had only cold water (no problem for a 30C climate), a bath but no plug, a good shower, a sink (but no plug) and soap and shampoo replaced daily. Towels were also replaced daily. Free breakfast was discontinued (maybe due to Covid) but there was coffee every morning in reception. The local McDonalds provided a very cheap breakfast solution. Wifi in the hotel is brilliant and protected. So, it is a very basic accommodation, but if you are someone who doesn’t want a Jacuzzi and a private beach and is in Curacao to explore and discover this amazing island rather than wallow in luxury, then it is a very cost-effective and satisfactory accommodation – and a 15-night stay went brilliantly. And the location is right in the middle of Punda, Willemstad!

First class hotel. We have tried several hotels in Curacao over the past few years. The Renaissance Hotel is, in our opinion, the best of all. As soon as you arrive you are greeted in a very friendly manner. Water is offered immediately. The entrance is friendly and nicely designed. Music is played in the lobby on Friday and Saturday. Dancing desired. The rooms are very clean and well maintained. You like to feel at home. The seawater pool has fine sand and it's like swimming in the sea. There is also a smaller freshwater pool. The food can be taken a la carte or as a buffet. The menu is extensive and, most importantly, it tastes really good and delicious. All of this is made possible by the manager Herbert and the so-called navigators Martesano and Jureschka, the service staff Zayra, Zigraina, Sandra, Francesca, and the visible kitchen staff Martina, Isabel, Paola, Lenny and of course Piet. Geraldine Lai takes care of the billing.

My BFF and I have been to Curaçao 4 times now. The last three times we rent an apartment at Blue Bay. It’s gated, safe, beautiful, and all the staff we’ve ever come into contact with are friendly and helpful. This past vacation- just last week- my flight was cancelled and in order to get home I had to extend my stay by 2 nights. I quickly googled for hotels in Curaçao and almost at the top of the listings was Bayside Boutique Hotel. I booked immediately even though I’d never been there but as it was on the same property with which I was already familiar I was very confident I’d be ok. I was now going to be staying alone- and even though I find Curaçao super safe (I’ve lived on islands with serious crime rates) you know, single woman, alone. I wanted to not worry. And did I not worry. Staff was helpful and accommodating. From helping reprogram my TV (because I’m a spaz and of course hit countless wrong buttons) to arranging for taxis - to yet another Covid test as well as the airport. (and on that note, they arranged for the driver to not only wait while I got my test but he let me run into the grocery store and did not charge me extra. Taxis are not cheap but the driver was great and I tipped him accordingly for his kindness)The room was spotless, beautifully appointed, lovely amenities, comfortable bed. The property is gorgeous and really, I can’t say enough good things about this place. The only thing I will give fair warning in is - old building=lots of stairs. So when your luggage is like mine and is twice my weight just be prepared!!! Or ask for help. Which they will!!! I absolutely loved it here and will look into booking this for our next visit.

We visited here for a long friends weekend. Upon checking in, we had a problem with the room. The management handled it beautifully. The staff, especially Collin, was patient, kind and respectful throughout the entire trip. The resort is not in walking distance to anything but the beach is an under 10 min drive. Free shuttles to Mambo and town were great. Definitely saved us a few bucks! Nighttime light show was very cute. Monday night’s singer was fantastic!!! FYI: Although an employee shared there are no residents living on property, local people live at the resort too. This wasn’t an issue at all as everyone is nice. Acoya won awards for residency area. The resort offers day passes…pool was a little more crowded on the weekend because of guests. As for the spa, massage price was very fair.. Restaurants: Breakfast was expensive (26 pp) unless you buy breakfast when you check in for every day (about 18pp instead). We ate dinner here several nights. FYI: they charge a service charge which is built in to the price but separated on the bill. We thought it was gratuity but it’s not. Please make sure you still tip your waiters. Best dish I had was the pesto pasta. My friend liked their ceviche. Rooms: We started with a standard room. Incredibly small…think European hotel size. Definitely book something a bit bigger and in the main hotel area. Advice: When the hotel is at low capacity, management and staff should offer free upgrades. It would really help make your customers feel appreciated on arrival and want to visit again. Thanks for a memorable trip!

Great place to disconnect from the day to day and feel a vacation atmosphere.

We enjoyed our stay at Papagayo Beach Hotel in Curaçao. After arrival, the room did not be all our desires, but we received a upgrade from Landiz de Lima and then had a beautiful room with beautiful views. The location is also very beautiful. The service was top and the staff has helped us very well, especially the girls behind the bar that helped us when arrived to lift the bags up and baby bed. All with a nice stay! ”

The second stay at the hotel was good overall but the room was not satisfied with the cleaning. Many guests have not been cleaned and cleaned for 2 days. Breakfast is still worthy of recognition. The front desk service is also very good. The sea view and courtyard view are beautiful
