Hotels Near Landhuis Veeris in Willemstad

I stayed here for 15 nights in Jan/Feb 2022. The price was brilliant – about £34 per night in peak season. The reception is on the first floor (UK floor terminology, or 2nd floor for US!) via lift. My room was on the 3rd floor which apparently was recently refurbished. The accommodation is basic. There is no wardrobe – there are 8 coat hangers, a suitcase stand, a room safe, a drawer, two bedside cubby holes, a double bed, good air conditioning and a flat screen TV (with UK, US and Dutch channels). The floors are tiled. The bathroom had only cold water (no problem for a 30C climate), a bath but no plug, a good shower, a sink (but no plug) and soap and shampoo replaced daily. Towels were also replaced daily. Free breakfast was discontinued (maybe due to Covid) but there was coffee every morning in reception. The local McDonalds provided a very cheap breakfast solution. Wifi in the hotel is brilliant and protected. So, it is a very basic accommodation, but if you are someone who doesn’t want a Jacuzzi and a private beach and is in Curacao to explore and discover this amazing island rather than wallow in luxury, then it is a very cost-effective and satisfactory accommodation – and a 15-night stay went brilliantly. And the location is right in the middle of Punda, Willemstad!

We booked the hotel for 2 main reasons...1. its proximity to the 10/10 celebrations in downtown and the concert of Oscar d'Leon on October 9, 2023 and 2. celebration of my birthday on 10/10/2023. Although not standard practice, the room was decorated for the birthday occasion by the hotel staff. The personnel is very attentive to guests and special requests. Special arrangements were made for the temporary access of friends and family who visited me on both October 9 and 10, 2023. It is a typical small mid-town hotel with the possibility of taking walks and visiting the restaurants in downtown/Punda. there are still signs of Work in Progress. Cascade (rooftop Bar and Pool) is a very unique experience in downtown. Parking arrangements for hotel guests with the adjacent Pietermaai Parking is also a very important amenity for clients with transportation. All by all a very joyfull and interesting experience.........

I'll apologize for taking so long to write this review but I need to do it. We absolutely loved our trip to Curacao and especially our stay at the BijBlauw Hotel. The staff was fantastic and the rooms have so much character. I told Ed that the date of our next trip back to Curacao would depend entirely on the availability of the Seaside Rendezvous room ! The fabulous food and drink always served with a smile while you enjoy the ocean views. The location is great , lots of attractions within walking distance and probably the friendliest island we've ever been to . Thanks to Titia , Ruud , Ed and all the staff for making our stay so memorable , we're coming back either late November or January as soon as we figure out our fall work schedules . My stay at Avila Beach was one of the very best vacations I had in a long time. My first visit to Avila Beach was 42 years ago on my honeymoon, and since my husband's passing 5 years ago I wanted to return. Needless to say, things have changed dramatically, but for the better. The food, the staff, the spa and the accommodations were all top notch. God willing, I'd like to make this a yearly trip. I'd also like to extend a special thank you to Vaynis at Cloud Nine Spa, who had hands that were kissed by the angels; Nathania, who was doing double duty at both The Pen and Blues Restaurants and was very helpful in making sure I had everything I needed, and, lastly the two young ladies at the front desk, and forgive me, but I didn't get the name of one, and the other I wrote down, but can't find the paper, but it started with a ”Jean”. Sorry about that, but they were extremely patient and helpful with me when I checked in. Bottom line, this was money well spent and God bless the staff of Avila Beach Hotel for making my trip memorable.

We visited here for a long friends weekend. Upon checking in, we had a problem with the room. The management handled it beautifully. The staff, especially Collin, was patient, kind and respectful throughout the entire trip. The resort is not in walking distance to anything but the beach is an under 10 min drive. Free shuttles to Mambo and town were great. Definitely saved us a few bucks! Nighttime light show was very cute. Monday night’s singer was fantastic!!! FYI: Although an employee shared there are no residents living on property, local people live at the resort too. This wasn’t an issue at all as everyone is nice. Acoya won awards for residency area. The resort offers day passes…pool was a little more crowded on the weekend because of guests. As for the spa, massage price was very fair.. Restaurants: Breakfast was expensive (26 pp) unless you buy breakfast when you check in for every day (about 18pp instead). We ate dinner here several nights. FYI: they charge a service charge which is built in to the price but separated on the bill. We thought it was gratuity but it’s not. Please make sure you still tip your waiters. Best dish I had was the pesto pasta. My friend liked their ceviche. Rooms: We started with a standard room. Incredibly small…think European hotel size. Definitely book something a bit bigger and in the main hotel area. Advice: When the hotel is at low capacity, management and staff should offer free upgrades. It would really help make your customers feel appreciated on arrival and want to visit again. Thanks for a memorable trip!

We enjoyed our stay at Papagayo Beach Hotel in Curaçao. After arrival, the room did not be all our desires, but we received a upgrade from Landiz de Lima and then had a beautiful room with beautiful views. The location is also very beautiful. The service was top and the staff has helped us very well, especially the girls behind the bar that helped us when arrived to lift the bags up and baby bed. All with a nice stay! ”
