The accommodation is conveniently situated near M4 and public transport, offering easy access to Bristol center. Guests appreciated the clean rooms and friendly, attentive staff. The buffet breakfast was also well-received.

Stayed here in October and November and it's a pleasure to see the hotel has been updated and the rooms are fresh and modern. Reception staff are professional and friendly and checkin was a breeze . Only issues I experienced on both of my stays relate to the heating this appears to turn itself off after a set period which unfortunately means in the morning you wake to a cold room , This happened during both stays in different rooms on different levels , I understand energy saving but the coldest months are coming and waking to a cold room isn't great . The pillows are also not the thickest and for me they could do with improvement they feel like they've bought a value range of pillows . The food within the restaurant and bar is the normal Hotel fair but I found the portions to be large and the food well prepared and tasty . When I need to stay in Bristol again I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again apart from the heating the hotel is perfectly adequate for a few nights stay in a clean and fresh hotel

Really is a Shame that it was used as an immigrant hotel! If we had known this we would have booked elsewhere, I would definitely avoid this hotel. Customers need to be made aware of this sort of thing this will forever known as a rest stop hotel for,,,,

Appalling breakfast options No mushrooms, no hash browns, no margarine. Basically if you don’t eat meat or dairy your options are fruit or dry bread. Premier Inn manage proper breakfast options, why can’t holiday inn ? I can’t remember if we had to pay extra for breakfast, I’m hoping we didn’t

An excellent service, stayed in room 403, smooth check in, scan and pay for car parking, £5 for 24hrs, was offered a late checkout on signing up for the IHG membership, room was very clean, lovely view over a large green, beds very comfortable, bathroom was a good size, good quality shampoo, conditioner, body wash, fridge in room with still and sparkling water, Dolce gusto machine and espresso pods in room as well as the usual tea, coffee sachets, biscuits, chocolate bars and crisps. Hairdryer, iron and ironing board in little cupboard, TV was huge but despite best efforts couldn't get it to work, a minor issue. Staff a credit to the hotel, ate an evening meal, very tasty and reasonably priced. Would recommend.

The hotel has been recently refurbished in many areas, and the room was therefore very clean and fresh, with excellent blackout curtains for a good night’s sleep. Huge wall-mounted TV, but a shame that for some reason it switched on by itself in the middle of the night (and whilst it was a good quality smart TV, it hadn’t been properly set up, so the available BBC iPlayer app hadn’t been installed - which is a technical oversight I think). The bathroom was a good size, but the shower pressure was fairly weak. The long corridor from reception to the bedroom block at the rear could do with some interior design treatment - as it stands, with its stark white walls, no artwork, and clinically harsh lighting, it felt like a hospital corridor! Hopefully this will be improved as the refurbishment continues. Breakfast was fine, with a reasonable continental selection, but undercooked bacon and very greasy fried eggs. Nice to see teapots available for the self-service hot drinks. The orange juice was really poor quality (more like highly diluted orange squash, actually). The £5 charge for parking was a minor irritation (I’d expect to pay for parking at a city centre hotel, but not for a hotel in a suburban location where space is really not at a premium). Overall, a fairly good choice for a hotel on the outskirts of Bristol, but could do with a bit more attention to detail in some areas.

Booking system problems and mistakes from start to finish and customer care epic. Double charged for day on one room. Continually told that there was no record of our stay (7 people with the same surname). Rebate finally acknowledged but still not made after being promised days ago. Different people dealing with us each e-mail who never seem to have read previous messages and system just not joined up. Advise you check reciepts and deal with errors immediately or you are in for it.

I have just booked a room to stay at the hotel. I got what I thought was an excellent value rate on agoda of $84 plus tax for the room. However, then, after I had paid, I notice they added an extra person charge of $106 for the night - this is much more than the room rate. I only saw this after I paid as this shows right at the bottom of the second screen and I pressed the continue button (which was higher up) without seeing the additional charges (which would have caused me not to book the room). I only saw once I had paid and got my confirmation so I tried to cancel immediately. The cancellation policy stated that "Any cancellation received within one day prior to arrival will incur the first night's charge". To me a day is 24 hours. However, even though there were 35 hours before check in at the time of booking, I was unable to cancel without losing my $207 as it came up non refundable. This is disgusting. What is even more disgusting is that it would have actually been cheaper to book two separate rooms. Except I don't have this option as my daughter is disabled and can't stay in a room on her own. Feeling totally tricked as I booked this hotel out of town as I thought it was better value than a hotel in town.......but I have ended up paying $207 instead of around $100 more for a hotel miles from my son's place rather than one round the corner which would have cost me $160 for the night. Feeling absolutely conned. Shame on you Holiday Inn Express. How can an extra person in the same room cost more than the 2 adults in there already? This is total robbery and I would like to warn anyone travelling as a group of three of the extra person con. I was conned, I feel stupid and angry, please don't allow these rogues to con you too.
