The staff was very helpful staff with our luggage. They kept our luggage while we were in Huangshan from a night. The view from our balcony was lovely on the old village."

"The hotel is located near Yuezhao in the center of Hongcun. If you park your car in the designated parking lot, a shuttle bus will be sent to pick you up. The service is very warm and thoughtful. The hotel garden is very beautiful and quiet in a bustling environment. The breakfast was also very affordable. The room we booked was a duplex, so it was a bit inconvenient to go up and down the stairs. The room is clean and the decoration is antique."

"The rooms are the same as in the pictures so I won't bother to post photos but let's start with the positives. The place is clean and it is located close to the south gate, which is very convenient when you arrive or call for a taxi. However our room was a duplex and having only one AC unit meant that the upper floor was warm and the bottom floor was ice cold. Additionally if you are a light sleeper you hear a lot from the nearby rooms. Avoid weekends in Hongcun and your experience will be far better!"

"The location is excellent, right in the heart of the scenic area. The hotel also provides station pick-up and drop-off, making for a seamless and very convenient experience. Although it was my first time booking a B&B, I was truly impressed. As mentioned in other reviews, the service was outstanding, and responses were prompt. All staff members were incredibly attentive and helpful. The restaurant food was also delicious; I particularly recommend the roasted local pork chop. My only minor suggestion would be for the breakfast to offer a bit more variety. They also provide a thoughtful and considerate laundry service. Our butler even gave us a tour of the B&B's other facilities and courtyard, which was a very pleasant surprise. Just one suggestion: it would be great if the children's policy could be more flexible or accommodating. While our specific issues were resolved smoothly, an initially unaccommodating policy might deter many potential guests."

"This stay was absolutely fantastic! The hotel's location is perfect; it's super convenient for both nearby attractions and finding great food. The room was clean and cozy, and the bedding was so comfortable that I fell asleep the moment I hit the pillow. The bathroom was also completely odor-free. The front desk staff were warm and attentive, check-in was lightning fast, and they even thoughtfully recommended some fun places to visit nearby. "Tachuan's autumn was made even more beautiful by this guesthouse. I searched on Ctrip for a long time, worried about hygiene issues, but this guesthouse really paid attention to details and was very clean. The moment I opened the door, the automatic welcoming ceremony from 'Xiao Ai' (smart speaker) was very touching. It's right at the entrance of Hongcun and the price is excellent value for money. The proprietress is very kind, and the young man who checked me in, Manager Xiao Wang, was extremely helpful with excellent service. From picking me up at the station to helping me find a car for my travels, he saved me the anxiety and exhaustion of not having a car in Hongcun. The prices were also reasonable. Anyone worried about drivers getting upset in Hongcun can completely entrust their needs to him. At the village entrance, he even used a small electric cart to help with my luggage. There are Hello e-bikes nearby, so you can go to Lucun early in the morning to watch the sunrise. Thank you for providing such a 'utopia' after my busy work. The hygiene was indeed top-notch!"

We arrived early and were easily checked in by the front desk. The room was quiet, and although the facilities were older, it was clean and tidy. It wasn't as unhygienic as some reviews suggest. Overall, it was a good value for money and highly recommended!"

"This is the best hotel experience I have experienced in these years. I went to Huangshan and passed by Hongcun to find a B&B that I thought was pretty good. It turned out to be such a treasure! There were two young girls waiting enthusiastically in the parking lot. They took the initiative to upgrade the room type in the off-season. Surprisingly, the food in the hotel's own restaurant tasted so good. The yellow beef was roasted with cumin. When the window was opened in the morning, the mountain view on the room terrace was filled with smoke. The entire hotel Everywhere I see the hotel owner’s careful and arbitrary arrangements, I will inadvertently pass by some Go boards, swings, book bars, etc. The public area is much larger than the place where I live. We had breakfast outdoors, and the fields outside were filled with golden rice. Growing up in the countryside, I haven’t seen such plump millet for a long time. "Our two-day trip to Hongcun was truly a wonderful experience. Yaduo, nestled in the countryside, was truly captivating. We savored the utter tranquility without escaping the city. The signature breakfast, called ”taro,” was delicious, according to the staff, as were the dried bamboo shoot noodles. We also sampled Hongcun delicacies like stinky mandarin fish and the signature hairy tofu. The ink-wash Hongcun scenery and Yaduo's interior design skillfully blended together, imbuing our trip with the poetic beauty of Hongcun's landscape.
1. Upon entering the hotel, the entrance was filled with Huizhou elements, and the lobby had a guidebook—a true treasure.
2. Breakfast was taro, dried bamboo shoots, and shredded pork noodles (I'm not sure if I typed ”taro” correctly). For lunch, we recommend the stinky mandarin fish and aconite scrambled eggs (we chose a 1983 restaurant, which was reasonably priced). It was delicious. We had porridge back at the hotel for dinner.
3. The scenery, as shown, is a truly exquisite ink-wash world. Painting China was a worthwhile experience. Many students sketching added a touch of greenery to this ink painting, elevating our inner peace. Finally, I'll write a conclusion to this trip: My taste buds dance in the ink painting, and my dreams are intoxicated by the night of Atour."

GGuest UserHongcun Yushan mountain scenery house is convenienly located near the South Gate of Hongcun Scenic area. We booked courtyard B which is located outside and behind the main hotel complex with breakfast included. The room was spacious, tastefully decorated, clean and comfortable, and had a small courtyard, but unfortunately no garden chairs or table to sit outside. In hindsight we woud book another room in the main complex next time. It has a lovely open garden and plenty of outdoor seating. I contacted the hotel before our stay and managed by using a voice translator to connect with the staff on Wechat. A friendly staff member met us at the entrance to the scenic area and entry is free of charge when you stay at the hotel. The hotel staff don't speak any English, but they were very helpful and friendly and we got along fine using Wechat and other translators. I won't recommend eating dinner at the hotel as there are many local Chinese restaurants in the ancient village. The hotel offers a coffee shop in the lobby and has a number of options, like Americano, Latte etc. The coffee is very good, but I felt it was a bit pricey for the cup size. The hotel breakfast is Chinese with no Western options, and it is served in unique way in a tray. I enjoyed the breakfast, but my husband would have liked more western options. On our arrival the room was already pre-heated and the beds in the room were comfortable. It was snowing lightly when we arrived and there were umbrellas available in the room. They also provide vanity items. We visited just before the Chinese New Year tourist rush at the beginning of the holiday and this was a very good location and time to visit despite the cold weather. The ancient village was not too crowded and it was nice to walk around in the evenings and daytime with the hotel is situated conveniently right next to the South lake. Drone flying is allowed which can give drone flyers an aerial view of the village. Depending on your iterinary a one night stay is sufficient to visit Hongcun and the nearby Xidi ancient village then move on to another hotel at the foot or top of the mountain or Tunxi village. We enjoyed our stay and can recommend this hotel to travelers wanting a good hotel experience in Hongcun.

GGuest UserMy family and I (5 of us) recently had the pleasure of staying at this charming homestay in Hongcun for two days and one night, and it was a wonderful experience from start to finish. The building, steeped in history at 400 years old, is located relatively close to the West entrance, making access a breeze. The rooms were beautifully decorated, clean, and well-kept. Although I initially booked three specific rooms, they were unavailable due to renovation. However, I was provided with three other rooms that turned out to be more spacious, which was a delightful surprise.
The lobby felt incredibly welcoming, with a cozy living-room-style atmosphere. There’s a lovely café to the left and a souvenir shop to the right, adding a nice touch of convenience and charm as you walk toward the living area. Wan Jie (elder sister Wan), the host, was truly hospitable and attentive. Her warmth shone through from our first phone call, which she answered cheerfully while helping arrange our pickup, as cars aren’t allowed into Hongcun, a UNESCO Heritage Site.
One of the highlights of this homestay was the restaurant nestled in a ”secret” garden—a serene and picturesque spot where my family and I could have happily spent more time. The food was delicious and reasonably priced, adding to the overall experience. Though it was too cool to use during my visit, the homestay also features a pool that would be perfect for summer days.
At the end of our stay, Wan Jie went above and beyond by accompanying us to the village exit to wait for our driver, ensuring everything went smoothly before saying her goodbyes. It’s rare to experience such personalized hospitality, and it made a memorable impression on us.
Based on my positive experience, I would highly recommend this homestay to anyone visiting Hongcun. It’s a unique blend of history, comfort, and genuine hospitality that truly enhances the visit.

SShanna LeighTraveling with 2 of my friends on a fun girls trip! This was such an amazing location. We went from a sad and boring hotel in Beijing to this fantastic location and suddenly the whole trip was more fun and much more interesting. The host met us at the entrance to Hongcun and carried our luggage in the back of his little vehicle as we followed him around quaint buildings and through a narrow cobblestone walkway which was perfect for walking and pretty impressive to drive thru without scratching anything. After the beautiful walk we came through the most beautiful circle archway and into the cutest courtyard. We rented the room with a queen bed downstairs and 2 full beds up in the loft. The rooms were so cute we had to hide our luggage to do a full video tour to show our families before unpacking. The beds have mattress toppers which helped soften up the beds for us Americans. The host was very helpful and I would suggest getting WeChat to translate if you don’t speak Chinese. I don’t but it was easy to communicate. I would definitely stay at here again. Highly recommended!

3300654****The hotel is right by Moon Lake, making its location incredibly convenient. Turn left out of the hotel and you're at the Moon Lake Bookstore; the Wang Ancestral Temple is directly across. It's a short walk to both Nanhu Academy and Chengzhi Hall. On the second-floor terrace of the neighboring Moon Lake Bookstore, you can enjoy a panoramic view of the entire Moon Lake. Grab a drink and you could easily spend the whole day there. In the evenings, there are even live singers.
The hotel itself is a beautifully renovated old house, showcasing classic Huizhou architectural style. The courtyard is delicate and charming. The owner is great; if you contact him in advance, he'll pick you up from the station in an electric cart and also drop you off when you leave. There's no breakfast at the hotel, but a noodle shop to the right offers a pretty rich breakfast spread, though it is a bit pricey. That's just how food and lodging are inside the scenic area.

AAnonymous UserTo be honest, I don't like staying in B&Bs. Most B&Bs are not very grand. They are just for making quick money, but they don't provide any service. The employees are usually just friends or relatives, or they are from the same village, so there is no service to speak of. I would like to talk about my feelings about staying in this hotel. I won’t talk about the accommodation environment for now. Holiday economy housing is definitely expensive. We took a shower first after we moved in. Because the B&B didn’t provide laundry detergent or something like that, I used shower gel to wash my clothes. After washing, I found that there were not enough bathing supplies, so I contacted the B&B to send a set. They replied that the toiletries we were equipped with were more expensive, so they only gave us one set. They said that if we needed more, we could only get toiletries of another brand. I suddenly felt uncomfortable. The accommodation fee was more than 1,000 yuan a night, and I didn’t know how expensive this set of toiletries was? Four small bottles of Evian water were provided, and we didn't feel comfortable asking for more after we finished them. What I want to say is that your service concept and the fees you charge don't match, because I have stayed in countless hotels, and this is the first time I have encountered such a thing. Secondly, the breakfast is very simple. Among the four side dishes, only the pickled vegetables were bought and the only one that was freshly made was the fried tofu. Also, I heard a guest wanted to ask the management for some fruit, but you refused. As a guest, it took her courage to ask you for something. Is there something wrong with your management model and business model? I wanted it to be high-end, but the service was not up to par. I'm so embarrassed that I really want to get it off my chest.

As guests, you’re also entitled to discounted entrance tickets: just let the ticket office know you're staying here and they'll give you 50% off tickets. Room was exactly as in the photos, spacious, perfectly clean and featured a very comfortable bed and many accessories (bottled water, tv, haircomb, hairdrier, etc). The building’s traditional Chinese architecture was absolutely beautiful and on a rainy day, it created a wonderfully romantic atmosphere we will treasure forever in our memories. The staff were exceptionally helpful. They kindly met us to guide us to the hotel (since Apple Maps and AMaps can be a bit confusing in the area), provided umbrellas free of charge and even bring us back to the parking lot when we left. We had an excellent stay and highly recommend this accommodation to anyone visiting Hongcun!

The Anhui-style white walls and dark tiles are nestled among the green mountains, and opening the window reveals a picturesque ink wash painting. The environment is serene and healing. The one-on-one butler service was incredibly attentive, quick to respond, and had a great attitude, making the entire stay effortless. The room facilities were astonishingly complete: tableware, washing machine, oven, induction cooker – everything you could need. The capsule coffee machine and complimentary tea were an excellent bonus. The fresh, plump welcome fruit paired with a handwritten welcome letter added a wonderful touch of ceremony. The holiday experience was perfect, and I'll definitely be back!

GGuest UserThis is one of the most delightful guesthouses I’ve stayed at in China. The building itself is beautiful. The service is impeccable. The food is delicious (I had dinner and breakfast there). They have free bikes and nice maps of the vicinity. I’m really glad I stayed in Bishan; felt much less touristy than Xidi or Hongcun and it has a branch of the librarie avant-gardes bookstores. It’s a solid hour from the high-speed rail, ask them to organize car for you.

Although the soundproofing of the century-old wooden house is not good, everyone consciously goes to bed before ten o'clock. The village is very quiet.
