It deserves to be called a design hotel. The decoration, equipment and supplies inside are very exquisite and have a sense of design. The key point is that it is very cost-effective, noble but not expensive:) Ps: 1F is a store for local souvenirs (with high ceilings), and 2F is the guest room, so you can directly see the store on 1F from the 2F corridor (as shown in photo 4). It feels very spacious and nice.

The center of Yusuhara town. It's convenient because it's attached to a roadside station, but it's a little confusing because there's no sign from the outside indicating it's a hotel. The bathroom with a claw foot bathtub is spacious, but there is a level difference from the room, so be careful.

飯店地點佳,1樓為賣場,價錢公道,2樓以上才是房間。日式早餐,菜色豐盛,美味可口。唯泡湯需搭乘接駁車,約3分鐘車程。

My husband used to work as an architect in the United States, so I visited Yusuhara because I was interested in the buildings that Kengo Kuma was involved with. This hotel has a small store on the first floor selling souvenirs, and the hotel is upstairs. I booked a twin suite, so the room was very spacious and decorated with warm wood and stylish furniture. The low bed of the Simmons mattress is comfortable and satisfying, but I was disappointed that the layout was not functional. The TV is in a bad position, and the furniture (Cresenza) that separates the two wasted living spaces from the bed area and lounge area serves as a table, but the height of the chair is not balanced and hits the thighs and knees. I'm 168cm tall, so if you're a tall man, you probably won't be able to use it. The bathroom was also designed like what I experienced in a hotel in Greece, with a curtain separating the bathroom from the sink rather than a door that could be opened and closed (there was a step), and the claw-footed bathtub was in a bad location, making it difficult to reach the shampoo. With this, you don't need a bathtub. My husband said that I shouldn't expect convenience from art, but the overall impression is that it's half-hearted. There is no particular parking lot, and you can park for free in any available space in front of you. Guests can use the nearby hot spring facilities free of charge, and a set of towels will be provided on-site. The bathhouse is the same size as a typical hot spring inn with about 20-30 rooms, but please note that toiletries such as cosmetics are not available in the changing rooms, so please bring your own. There is a shuttle bus from the hotel, but since the time didn't fit well with dinner, I went by my own car. For dinner, I had a dish bowl set at a nearby ramen shop, but it was pre-prepared and not very tasty, but since there aren't many restaurants in the area, I felt it was a good idea to include the meal. For breakfast, we had a Japanese set meal next to a shop inside the hotel, and it had the feel of a country breakfast, and it was surprisingly delicious. The restaurant staff took care to plate more rice for my husband and less for me, so I think it would be a good idea to ask them to adjust the amount in advance. The entire city was a place where people could enjoy Kengo Kuma's works, and it was not possible to enjoy hotel life and meals.
