Beautiful space and wonderful homely environment. The walk to town is a bit far if you have young kids with you.

Good hotel

The landscape is very beautiful. The L-shaped balcony is very large. It is a good resort hotel suitable for staying for a few nights. However, the toilet is a bit small and the air is incomparably fresh. However, the taxi fare from the train station is 24 Swiss francs, which is very expensive. Find a restaurant to eat. Things are the most inconvenient. There are very few breakfast items. Only the scenery is incomparably beautiful. You can clearly see the Matterhorn.

If you’re fortunate enough to have clear weather, Matterhorn views here are spectacular. Taken together with the charming handmade furniture, private terrace, complimentary ride from the train station, and fresh breakfast every day; it is so Worth the extra few steps from town!

We had a lovely stay at Alpenlodge. It's a boutique hotel so it's quiet and the staff is great. The rooms were clean and the furniture all through the hotel is so nice, much of it handmade. The staff were very nice and helpful. Breakfast was good but the presentation was even more amazing. The way they serve everything is so quaint. I'd highly recommend this place to anyone. As others have mentioned, it is up a hill so you will always have to walk up and down, but they do offer a taxi from the train station when you have luggage. We also enjoyed the Zen Spa (sauna, steam, meditation room).

Perfect south facing location overlooking the town of Zermatt with unparalleled views of the Matterhorn. In the winter you have sunshine on the balconies up to 4 pm. For views and sunshine this definitely the best area of Zermatt. It’s only a few meters away from the official Zermatt viewpoint, which should tell you all you need to know. The service has been great and all the staff are super attentive all the way. Breakfast with local delicacies is great as well as the sauna and steam bath facilities. The taxi pick up service to the hotel from the train station makes for a very smooth arrival. The same applies when you are leaving. Zermatt is car free so you have to walk a few mins into town to go to a restaurant or visit shops but we actually enjoyed those little walks. In the winter you can ski in but you have to know exactly where to leave the piste. Once you know it it’s easy. All of the premises feel well put together and solid, good materials. We can really recommend this place!

Alpenlodge is a nice little hotel in a wonderful quiet location. Inside the lodge, it's very clean and well equipped with elevator to reach guest rooms. Walking to center of Zermatt town only takes minutes. Staffs are very kind and help to arrange transportation to/from the town as needed and with a huge discount. We could feel the staff's kindness way before our arriving. Questions answered with no delay. From the unit we stayed, I believe most of the units in Alpenlodge, overlook Zermatt town with Matterhorn in the center background. Bathroom is nice and clean with heated floor. Breakfast is decent with many different choices. We definitely recommend this place to stay when visiting Zermatt.

We had the best stay at the Alpenlodge in Zermatt. The looking is great and the hotel has everything you need. We made a lot of use out of the welness which made us super relaxed after skiing the entire day. Thanks so much for taking such good care of us. We will be back next year for sure :)

The hotel is really up a long and winding upwards slope so if you are thinking that you could easily roll your luggages to this hotel, think again. Walking to and fro Zermatt is a pain and breakfast is basic. No complains about the room though. Booked a family room with a view of the Matterhorn and boy does it have good views of the Matterhorn! You just need to pray for good weather during your stay and you will be rewarded, although I am sure there are also hotels out there that provides views of the Matterhorn.

Great hotel. Very accommodating and welcoming. Beautiful view of the Matterhorn. The rooms were great. Breakfast was great as well. Small enough to offer personalized service and yet often felt like we had the place to ourselves. highly recommended!

Nice view, Nice room with lots of amenities, breakfast was nice. Very cozy interior design. Very far from the city center because it has a beautiful view of the Matterhorn. However, the hotel provided a taxi if you stay more than 1 night. A friendly and helpful receptionist. It was a memorable stay. The only downside is no COVID19 regulations applied in the hotel which is quite risky and scary during Winter holidays 2021. Staffs did not wear protective masks and did not ask for Covid certificate from guests when checking in! Other guests also did not wear masks when taking the food from breakfast buffet! The only hand sanitizer found was at the entrance of a hotel, not in breakfast area.

We spent a wonderful week in the Alpenlodge. The rooms are beautiful and decorated with a lot of love. Wonderful beds, fantastic views of Zermatt and the Matterhorn from most of the rooms. Lots of storage space, beautiful bathroom, comfortable furnishings and everything very well maintained and very clean. The lobby with fireplace invites you to linger and the spa with sauna and steam bath is not overcrowded even in high season thanks to the size of the Alpenlodge. Although the Alpenlodge is located a little above Zermatt, the center is easy to reach on foot and you can also quickly walk to the Sunnegga cable car. The breakfast is generous and varied. Special mention should also be made of the family who run the hotel and their entire team. Everyone is incredibly attentive and extremely caring. In the rather expensive Zermatt, the Alpenlodge with its reasonable prices is a real gem. We can 100% recommend the Alpenlodge and thank the whole team for the wonderful stay.
