Metropolo Hotels in Zhangjiajie

I'm absolutely blown away by the exceptional service and pristine cleanliness here! The room is impeccably clean, and the toiletries provided are of top-notch quality. Our experience at the laundry room was fantastic. Not only were detergents provided for free, but the cleaner also went above and beyond to help us clean and dry our clothes. And the thoughtful gesture of receiving our clothes along with a night snack when we returned from our travels truly warmed our hearts. With its convenient location just 5 minutes away from the cable car station, it's undeniable that this is the perfect place to stay.

Our stay at the Pullman was a great experience. The rooms were clean and spacious, the breakfast was expansive, and the location was great. However, what truly made our experience was the exceptional customer service of the concierge, Mark. He went above and beyond to arrange tickets, taxis, explain itineraries to us for the park, it felt like we had our own tour guide. He kept in contact with us through WeChat even after he was off duty to ensure we got to our next location. I am so impressed and grateful for his help. Highly recommend staying at the Pullman. The hotel is in an excellent location, very close to Tinamen Mountain cable car (10 minute walk), and close to many restaurants. We got a room upgrade to a very big, comfortable and clean room. The breakfast is excellent, delicious traditional chinese cuisine. The hotel haas a travel agency (where we booked tickets to the national park saving us the lines), money exchange service and several grocery stores. Overall everything was good except for a very unpleasant interaction with the staff. We had an early train in the morning and we asked at the front desk to help us book a taxi in advance. The entire staff, none of them speaks english obviously, 5 people started to make fun of us in chinese for several minutes, eventually telling us to to catch a taxi on the road at 5 in the morning. What is so funny about asking the hotel staff to call a taxi? It was very humiliating, this hotel clearly does not care for its foreign guests. I've stayed in several hotels in China, never have I experienced anything similar. Additionaly, since we checked out before breakfast the hotel refused to provide us with any appropriate compensation, offering us a bottle of water and a piece of bread. Cannot recommend this hotel.

I have felt so well looked after here. From the friendly support in booking access to the Zhangjiajie National Forest Park via We Chat with the hotel to booking a guide which spoke English. The hotel itself is in the perfect location only a few minutes walk to the elevator entrance and the staff were super friendly. Especially pengyi who helped to arrange all my activities for two days and also was very kind and offered to help with my laundry as I got back late from my first day of trekking. They really did make sure I had everything I needed and felt welcomed. I would highly recommend for English speaking travellers as you can communicate using translation app.

By far the best hotel I have stayed at in China! The hotel staff were very attentive, and so helpful! From letting us check in early, to helping book tickets, to surprising us with birthday cake at dinner! They really went above and beyond with everything!!! We would highly recommend staying here!

Apple and her husband are so nice. She helped us on planning our days in Zhangjiajie base on our flight schedule. Location is convenient, close to Zhangjiajie national park entrance, night market, there are many shops and restaurants around. A bit far from airport and Tianmen mountain so you can plan Tianmen on the day you check out. We stayed in Double room with mountain view, room is spacious, facilities are new and paid attention to details. We even had a balcony overlooking the beautiful stream next to the homestay. Breakfast is simple, but nutritious with traditional noodles, egg and soy milk. If you need to wash your clothes, you can use homestay’s washing machine for free. So nice, amazing stay, highly recommended ♥️

We booked 2 triple rooms. Due to the layout of the hotel, we were on different floors, which was no problem. One room was a regular room and the other room was premium, which was way more comfortable. The shower of the regular room leaked, which made the bathroom always wet with spills. Breakfast was okay, they have a small convenience store linked to the lobby, which is nice to buy snacks and drinks before going to the parks. Hotel is about 30 min. away from the mayor entrances.

Amazing hotel and unmatchable views! Food and location was great! Staff is very kind, sweet and helpful. Room was amazing! They upgraded us and gave us basically a house! If you are looking to visit the park and enjoy the hotel this is your place. It is secluded so don't go if you are looking to hang out outside in a proper town etc. I am vegetarian so I wish there were more clear veggie options as I know Chinese food has but they went out of their way to help me. I also wish there was a menu in English and a clear vegetarian menu so it was just easy to order food rather than trying to overlap one phone with the other to translate (Google translate) 😂. Also for us this is the best entrance and the hotel is literally 5 minutes driving from it. They take you every morning in a golf car and it is just magical. Visiting this park and having this view every morning when waking up it made this trip totally worth it.

No. 5 has a holiday home vibe situated atop a hill with a fantastic view of the valley, especially during sunset. The location of the inn may be a little concerning (when we took the didi into the place the driver looked at us weird), but rest assure that the ZJJ Forest park is still extremely accesible. No. 5 provides a transfer service to the West gate, along with a plan of how to explore the forest park that is different from the rest of the visitors as you will be exploring the park starting from the opposite end of the park. Rain also very kindly helped to booked the entrance tickets on behalf of us as we did not have access to a local number. Everything was dealt with professionalism in a Wechat group, from reservations for dinner, to kindly removing a bug from our abode. The room was very clean and our consumables were stocked daily. Food choices are limited at the restaurant but every dish that we had at the inn was quite decent. We were able to order from the menu at least an hour in advance and when we arrive at the restaurant, the food was already set out on the table. 10/10. Facilities are adequate, with the exception of a slightly sluggish drainage system, but the design of the dry and wet toilet managed the problem fairly well. Expect to book a transfer service out of the inn, though, as the location is distal from the usual tourist crowds. No.5 also provides activities for when you feel like staying in, such as baking cookies, making scent packets and other interesting activities. The highlight of the inn though, has to be Yang Ma, the resident tea lady. She makes fantastic tea on request whenever she can, and the tea tastes amazing. The view, tea, and good service from No.5 makes this place an interesting choice for a slow paced holiday.
