This hotel feels like a natural oxygen bar! It's right next to a lake, and there are so many different types of trees on the property, making the air super fresh. Every morning, I woke up to the sound of birds singing. It's perfect for those driving, as there's ample parking both above ground and in a large underground garage. Within a few minutes' drive, you can find shops and restaurants, and major shopping areas like Nanmendou are just a 10-minute drive away. The staff here are incredibly welcoming. The security guards not only help with parking but also proactively offer to assist with luggage and guide you to the lobby, which was fantastic! Check-in was smooth, and the front desk staff even provided information about the swimming pool and gym without me asking. The hotel has a lovely Chinese courtyard style that's very comfortable. My room was clean and tidy, with a balcony and a great wet/dry separation in the bathroom. Each building has security personnel, which is a big plus. If you order takeout, it gets delivered to the first floor, and the security staff arrange for a little robot to bring it to your room – super cool! The breakfast offered a rich variety, including local rice noodles and vermicelli.

Choosing Shangri-La for our trip to Fuzhou with the baby was absolutely the best decision! The location is unbeatable; it's super convenient for getting anywhere we wanted to go, and there are tons of great restaurants nearby for easy foodie exploration. The hotel is a bit older, so some of the facilities show their age, but it didn't impact our stay at all. The room was also free of any strange odors. Our dedicated concierge, Cynthia, was incredibly warm and thoughtful, and always responded quickly. Since we were traveling with a child, she proactively arranged everything from bed rails and children's amenities to bedtime sweet soup. There were even welcome gifts for the little one and homemade hotel cookies! One day, after our baby went swimming, we asked Cynthia to arrange some brown sugar ginger tea, and she had it delivered in no time. The hotel breakfast was delicious too. Right next door is a mall with a 'Yabao Paradise' that our baby loved so much, he didn't want to leave. The Jiangnan Zao restaurant there was also fantastic. Aside from the uncooperative weather, everything about this trip was perfect and comfortable. A huge thank you to Cynthia! Next time we're in Fuzhou, Shangri-La will definitely be our first choice again. As they say, an old Ferrari is still a Ferrari!

I like to give compliments to the front desk staff. They were very friendly and helpful, even walked me to the room taking my big baggage. On top of that, I was upgraded to a better room. I surely would recommend others to stay at this hotel if they have a transist flight in FuChao

This hotel is located right by West Lake, offering unbeatable views of the lake and mountains. I really appreciate the classic feel of this older hotel. The breakfast selection is extensive, and as a tourist, I found the Fuzhou specialty snacks to be authentically delicious, which my child thoroughly enjoyed. Service: The service was incredibly thoughtful, polite, and enthusiastic. Staff members always greeted us when passing by. They also took into careful consideration our needs when assigning a room, knowing we were traveling with a child and elderly parents. When I had a minor scrape from an electric scooter outside, the hotel even provided iodine and Yunnan Baiyao. What's more, the Yunnan Baiyao was brand new, and they even removed the plastic packaging for me – impeccable attention to detail! When I went to concierge to pick up our takeout, the staff even pointed out which items had just arrived, giving me a 'clue.' Haha. All in all, highly recommended! If I ever come to Fuzhou again, I'll definitely stay here.

Service: The service was incredibly attentive and efficient. They were very quick to respond to requests, definitely a five-star experience. Environment: The view was fantastic, overlooking the Min River. We got to watch the sunset, which was absolutely beautiful. Facilities: The TV wasn't a smart TV, so we couldn't cast anything to it. Hopefully, they'll update that soon. I really liked the toiletries, though. Breakfast: There was a good variety of options, but the taste was just average. It was extremely crowded, and there was a lot of waiting in line.

The hotel is easy to find, it's just along the street with a big signage. It also a walkable distance going to West Street and Ancient City... You can also scan and ride an e-bike, if you have a Chinese number. I didn't have much interaction with the front desk, but the check-in process was quick. The room was clean and very spacious! Toilet was also nice and tidy. Will definitely stay here again!

For my Quanzhou trip, I chose the InterContinental Taihe, initially drawn by its convenient location, close to all the main attractions. I booked an Executive Suite, which included Executive Lounge access. The room offered simultaneous views of the Ferris wheel and Jinjiang Bridge – you could watch the tide come and go during the day, and the nighttime views were even more stunning. Right next door was the Maritime Silk Road Xunfeng Night Market, bustling with local life. From check-in onwards, the staff's service was exceptional, especially Ms. Xiao Mao. Her service was consistently attentive and responsive to every request. The room key card was also very unique and made for a nice souvenir. The breakfast is highly recommended; it featured almost every type of Quanzhou snack, allowing you to savor global delicacies without leaving the hotel. Western dishes, fruits, and regular breakfast items were also plentiful. It truly lives up to its reputation as a 'World City of Gastronomy,' and I can understand why international visitors also choose to stay here.

The hotel's garden is absolutely beautiful, and the atmosphere is quiet and elegant, offering a peaceful retreat from the hustle and bustle. It's incredibly relaxing to just be there. The location is also excellent; it's very convenient for dining out and shopping. The soundproofing in the rooms is great, so it's very quiet at night, ensuring a wonderful night's sleep. Breakfast is exquisitely presented, making for a truly ceremonial dining experience. But what truly stands out is the service! When we arrived, it was raining, and the reception staff immediately came over to help us with umbrellas, getting themselves wet in the process – it was incredibly thoughtful. Such a warm and attentive hotel is a rare find; every detail makes you feel secure and comfortable. Whether for a trip, a vacation, or just a relaxing short stay, this place is absolutely perfect. I will definitely be back!

EElizabeth Frances RoseThis place makes me wish there was an option for six stars. I study Asian art for a living, and I travelled to Jianyang to visit the home of Jian ware, classic tea bowls of the Song dynasty (960 to 1279 CE), distinguished by their black and brown glazes. Over the last few decades, firing Jian ware in the Song tradition has been revived in the area. I chose Nanping Colourful Village Homestay because it was in Jianyang, affordable, and accepted international guests. What I found was a luxury resort with all the warmth and personal attention of a homestay. I asked the front desk about an excavated Song kiln site in a nearby village, and the receptionist brought me the manager, who arranged for someone to take me the next day. My driver was Ms. Huang, an employee of the resort whose job involves buying and selling contemporary pieces. She knew everything about Jian ware! The kiln site isn’t run as a tourist site, so I was only able to view it because Ms. Huang arranged for it to be opened for me. I had told them I was vegetarian, so for lunch they took me to lunch at a vegetarian buffet. Then we visited the town’s Jian ware museum, where they have exhibits on the history of tea and Jian ware, historical pieces, and the work of contemporary Jianyang potters. To my delight, Mr. Gao, the potter-in-residence at the resort, uses a Song-style wood-fired dragon kiln, built right on the grounds! His pieces that range from beautiful but quite affordable to exquisite and appropriately expensive. They include both iridescent silvery oil spot and orange-to-black hare’s fur pieces. I am still thrilled that I was able to purchase wood-fired pieces on my limited budget. For dinner, the resort’s restaurant prepared vegetarian versions of Fujian cuisine for me. The food was all delicious, featuring classic Fujianese mountain ingredients like local bamboo and mushrooms. Then we visited Mr. Gao’s dragon kiln, and later his studio, where he experiments with different local clays and glaze recipes. The rich colours and iridescence of Jian ware are the result of the iron-rich local material fired at high temperature, and the results are as unpredictable as they are beautiful. The next day, they drove me to Mr. Chen’s family tea plantation in the mountains, where they grow famous northern Fujian teas. These fine teas were all wonderful, smooth and rich with a touch of smoke, and sometimes fruity in flavour. We strolled through mountainsides of tea bushes and visited groves of centuries-old tea trees. This is a perfect place for an immersive experience in China that is also very comfortable and convenient. I often find tourist experiences in China claustrophobic due to the press of people, but the resort was spacious and airy, and they took me to places where there was no one else but us and the occasional local going about their business. Everyone was very patient with my limited Chinese language skills. They were also happy to work with translator apps on our phones, so if you don’t speak any Chinese, you will be fine. This would be a great place to come as a family. There are gardens and rides for kids right next to the resort. You can learn how to whip Song-style tea and carve your name into the base of your own Jian ware cup. Not far away is a historical theme park with a collection of real architecture from the Ming (1368 to 1644 CE) and Qing (1636 to 1912 CE) dynasties. The employees wear period dress and there are performances and activities. Nearby there are hiking trails, historical sites, and lovely villages to visit. It’s also very close to Wuyi Mountain National Park, so it would be a perfect place to stay if the mountains are your destination. If you ask, they could arrange for you to visit famous sites or take you to breathtaking places that only locals know, whatever you want. They can also arrange transport to and from the train station or airport.

GGuest UserThe room is well-decorated and equipped with a high-end feel. The privacy is very strong. It is relatively private and far away from the hustle and bustle. There is no phenomenon of people opening the curtains. This B&B is located in Nanmen Bay. Lying on the bed, you can see the boundless sea at a glance, as if you are in the middle of nowhere. On the sailboat is the room closest to the sea that I have ever experienced

GGuest UserThis veteran five-star hotel boasts an unbeatable location. Right outside, you'll find Zhenhai Road Metro Station, making it incredibly convenient to get anywhere. Zhongshan Road is just a short walk away, perfect for enjoying food and drinks. There's also a bus stop right at the entrance, so you can reach Xiamen University and Shapowei with hardly any transfers. The cleanliness and bedding are excellent. GGuest UserReally grateful for the free airport pickup. Added their number to my wechat and called them using wechat. Was given directions where to be picked up and asked to send a picture of how I look like. waited at the pickup point and even message them at exactly which location I'm at. Received a call later to ask where am I and also messaged me the car plate number. As the pickup point only allow 8mins of wait time, the driver was pretty pissed when I arrived. I mean, couldn't you have sent a picture of the car and the car plate number earlier? Driver was smoking all the way while driving and I'm unfortunately seated behind him, breathing in all his smelly smoke. He opened his window but that didn't help, the wind has kept blowing the smoke into my face. Luckily it was a short drive. I feel that the hotel should educate their drivers not to smoke while driving. This is so selfish. I got upgraded to a bigger room because they wanted me to give a good review. My room has a big window with the street view. Room was clean and nice. Slippers given. Toilet was badly designed. the shower head faces the toilet bowl and the sewage system is not good. After showering, the toilet flooded. I only realised the next morning that there are some buttons that you can switch on for ventilation in the toilet. The toilet was still flooded in the morning but I think if I have known about the buttons earlier, it would have been dried in the morning. The buttons are in chinese characters. Ask for help to decipher them. The room has a projector but nothing was watchable. You need to have accounts to sign on to their various content provider. The hotel is near a small street market with awesome and cheap food. There was also some supermarkets opened late into the night. Cannot expect much from sound proofing as dead into the night, you can still hear food delivery rider delivering their food to occupants. The driver in the morning did not smoke but when I told him that nobody asked me which terminal I'm going to, he insisted that it is impossible for them not to ask. I also cannot be bothered to argue. Why would I sabotage my own departure plans? Suggest that before the driver drives off, stressed which terminal you are going to. Terminal 3 for International flights, Terminal 4 for domestic flights. And they are not close to one another apparently. Otherwise, the bed was quite comfy. The socket above the bedside table is almost falling off the wall.
