"The location is convenient, with a shuttle bus service between the hotel and Prince Outlet shopping mall and the train station. There's a bit of a distance between the East and West wings of the hotel; the East wing is closer to the children's play area. The jungle adventure is suitable for both kids and adults.
The breakfast was quite average, possibly because there were too many guests. You need to call a day in advance to reserve the number of people and time for breakfast the next day. During our stay, we could only choose between 6:30 AM or 9:30 AM. The 'please clean my room' sign was very confusing; instead of simply stating 'yes' or 'no', it had a lengthy message that was open to misinterpretation."

"First of all, the two staff at the check-in counter showed a very strong sense of job burnout on their faces, and the whole check-in process was not very pleasant. However, the next morning during check-out, the ladies at the counter were very professional and everything felt fine.
After entering the room, I found it to be very stuffy and hot. When I turned on the air conditioning, it was only heating. Since the weather outside was quite cool, I understand that the system is centrally controlled and set to heating. I then tried opening the window, but it could only be opened a small amount. For some reason, no fresh air was coming in, and the room still felt very stuffy.
Later, I went down to the counter (again, the same two male staff from check-in) to ask if the air conditioning could be switched to cooling, but my request was rejected. I then asked if it was possible to borrow a fan, and they refused again with a very impatient attitude.
Overall, the stay was not a very good experience. The room itself was actually fine, but it was too stuffy. I hope this review can be helpful to others."

"Bed is rather small for 2. Room space hard to move about but we managed since it is for a night stay. Like the cleanliness and amenities provided. Location to the main Nagano station helps! Live up to its hotel's name as staff were very welcoming and they smiled 😀"

"The hotel building has a grand feel, and the room was very relaxing. The breakfast buffet was well-balanced and delicious. I also think the staff's service was excellent. I was very satisfied with my two-night stay, as I was able to walk to Zenko-ji Temple for the morning service on both days. "This was a really lovely trip. The staff here provided excellent service. As soon as the car pulled up at the hotel entrance, someone came right away to help with our luggage.
We stayed for two nights and three days, and had breakfast twice — one Western-style and one Japanese-style. Both were delicious, though I personally preferred the Western breakfast.
The public bath was also great. It was never crowded, which made the experience all the more enjoyable. Our room was spotlessly clean and well-kept. Compared with hotels in Hong Kong, this place offers really good value for money.
That said, there was one slight downside. I found out the hotel was built over thirty years ago and only renovated a few years back. The rooms and in-room facilities still feel quite modern, but the corridors and lobby clearly show the building’s age and have barely been updated. You can definitely sense a hint of old charm here.
Overall, it was a wonderful stay."

"A surprising 10/10 resort! The hot springs are great and very clean. The rooms are incredibly spacious, with a wet/dry bathroom, an open-plan kitchen, a separate small room, a living room, and a bedroom with a double bed. Both breakfast and dinner are buffet style. "I absolutely, absolutely, absolutely loved this hotel! First off, the location is unbeatable – it's right in the building opposite Nagano Station, literally a one or two-minute walk away. This makes catching trains, buses, and everything else super convenient. There's a Lawson convenience store on the first floor, and plenty of restaurants nearby, so the location couldn't be better. Next, the hotel room itself was a good size; I could fully open my suitcase, and the environment was very clean. I especially loved the window view from the room – you could see the surrounding mountains, and even get a glimpse of Zenko-ji Temple and its approach road from a distance. Finally, the hotel staff were incredibly enthusiastic. Even when checking in via machine, the front desk staff would always come over to help, and they'd always greet you warmly when you came and went. Definitely a top-notch experience! Nagano really is a beautiful small city; it must be even more stunning in winter. I'll definitely be back next winter and will book this hotel again. See you next time!"

"Visiting Achi Village, I compared several nearby hot spring ryokans and decided to try this one for its reasonable price, offering a one-night stay with two meals. Upon entering, there's a beautiful garden, and indoors, shoes must be removed. The interior space is ample, and with not many guests, the service was very satisfying. The room size was surprisingly large, and the lobby offered complimentary all-you-can-drink beverages, including alcohol, plus an outdoor foot bath. The restaurant food quality was acceptable, and overall, I was pleased with my stay."

_Miss_Koo_Location: The hotel is situated at the foot of a mountain in Satoyama, a considerable distance from JR Matsumoto Station. However, it offers a unique charm with panoramic views of Matsumoto Castle from the hillside.
Transportation: Unless you're driving or taking a taxi, here are your options: 1) The hotel provides a shuttle service to and from JR Station. There are two morning departures at 9 and 10 AM, passing by Matsumoto Castle before heading to JR Station. Return trips are at 4 and 5 PM. The pick-up point is at the temporary parking area to the right of JR Station Matsumoto Castle Exit (not a bus stop). 2) You can take the Meigahara Onsen bus line from the bus terminal downstairs at Alpico Plaza, opposite the temporary parking lot of JR Station, and get off at Fujii Station. You can find the bus schedule on Google Maps.
Service: There are English-speaking staff at the front desk, but no Chinese speakers. Simple communication is not an issue. The service was impeccable.
Dining: The breakfast is a buffet style with both Japanese and Western options, very extensive and delicious. There are also welcome drinks, including ice cream, juice, coffee, hot tea, and even draft beer! P.S. There are not many dining options near the hotel, so you might want to eat near JR Station before returning to the hotel, or dine at the hotel.
I booked one of the few rooms with a private onsen. Soaking in the hot spring while enjoying views of the Northern Alps was incredibly relaxing. The hotel also has a large terrace, perfect for enjoying a drink during the evening 'blue hour' – truly one of life's most comfortable moments.

It was a really lovely stay but communication with staff was rather difficult. Overall a lovely hotel with great service to ski resorts but please not there there are no convenience stores or services around the property. Food however on site was amazing! Love the bus schedules to the different ski resorts!

However, the staff was helpful and provided a scent spray. The breakfast was delicious and very diverse – I was really impressed! There's parking available next to the hotel for 750 yen per night.

This hotel is definitely one for the bucket list! The service is excellent, and the food is delicious. They also offer a shuttle service to Karuizawa Station, with a polite driver and soft music playing in the car. My only minor complaint is that the hotel doesn't provide bicycle rentals, but you can easily find rental shops nearby.

I’ve stayed at many ryokans throughout my travels—often making up half of each trip—but this one felt a bit different.
It seemed to be run by just one person, who I assume is the owner. Everything was self-service, which might be understandable considering it was the most affordable option among the ryokans in the area.
Most amenities required an extra fee, such as towels. Payment was made by dropping coins into a basket and making your own change, which wasn’t very convenient—especially since I didn’t carry much cash.
One thing I appreciated was the luggage delivery service. I was able to leave my bag at the lobby before check-out and have it sent to Toyama Station (for about 4,000 JPY, cash only).
What stood out was the creativity in the shared spaces. There were several common rooms designed for relaxing and spending time—perfect if you’re traveling with friends. You could play ping pong, read books, watch TV, or use the canteen, which had a microwave and dishes available.
They even had coin-operated massage chairs and a small fitness room.
However, I must mention two important downsides:
1. Limited nearby dining options – Many restaurants shown as open on Google Maps were actually closed. The only one that was open had extremely slow service—I waited nearly an hour for dinner.
2. Insects—large ones – Unfortunately, I encountered big insects in my room, which made it hard to sleep. (He even provided insect-catch tape for me while introduce the room) I stayed awake most of the night, worrying it might come back—especially stressful since I had to get up early the next morning to catch a bus to Ogizawa.
Minds you, stairs only, need to carry your luggage down by yourself.
Overall, while it offers good value for the area and has unique communal features, this ryokan may not suit travelers who prefer full service, cashless payment, or guaranteed comfort.

Absolutely impressed! It truly lives up to its reputation as a resort town – peaceful, beautiful, and with amazing views. The rooms were incredibly clean, the service was excellent, and the onsen was a perfect 100. The classic-style rooms were clean and cozy, with high-quality furniture. I would definitely return if I have the chance. Parking is free for those with cars, and the hotel also offers a shuttle service for train travelers. The food is high-quality, and the restaurant, rooms, onsen, and views are simply stunning.

Guest UserHotel La Vigne Hakuba was a wonderful place to stay. The hotel has a beautiful minimalist design and feels clean, cozy, and very welcoming. Both the lobby and rooms were pleasantly scented, creating a relaxing atmosphere.
The concierge team was extremely helpful and the overall service throughout the stay was excellent. The room was spacious, very clean, and thoughtfully designed with a very functional layout. The bedding was also very comfortable.
The hotel also provides excellent facilities for skiers, including a dedicated storage and locker room for ski equipment, as well as a separate shower room where guests can freshen up and change after skiing on the day of check-out.
Overall, a fantastic stay at Hotel La Vigne Hakuba — highly recommended.
