Wat Phra That Doi Suthep

#thingstodo What an amazing temple to visit. It was super cool to see this top of the mountain temple. The Funicular ride up the mountain was cool, but the walk down the stairs with the dragon tail stair railing was amazing. Unfortunately the main part of the temple was under construction while we were there and so it was surrounded by scaffolding and lots of works climbing around it. There was still plenty to see and worth the visit. If you go, be sure and visit the jade factory about a block down the hill on the right side of the the street if you was walking downhill. They do tours and show how jade is carved and how they grade the different colors and qualities of stone. They will even be happy to sell you some jewelry, but it wasn't high pressure and a cool addition to the Wat Doi Suthep visit Afternoon's the golden hour at Doi Suthep. Soak in the panoramic city view from the platform, watch the temple glow as the sun dips low, and choose your climb: conquer the 306 steps for a sense of achievement or take the funicular for a leisurely ascent. Inside, be dazzled by gold, intricate carvings, and serene courtyards. Breathe in the peace of chanting monks and discover hidden nooks for quiet reflection. Sunset paints the city in twinkling lights, casting a magical spell on the golden facade.
