Nanjing Hidden Gems: Yijiangmen—Yuejiang Tower—Xiuqiu Park—Xiaotaoyuan

Take Exit 4 of Zhujiang Road Station on Line 1, and across the street on the left-hand side of the exit, take bus 100 directly to Yijiangmen. Yijiangmen offers free access to the city wall, where you can walk and see the ancient and modern scenery blend together until you reach Yuejiang Tower. The entrance fee for Yuejiang Tower is 40 yuan. In the spring of 1374 (the 7th year of the Hongwu era), Zhu Yuanzhang built a pavilion on Lion Mountain and personally named it Yuejiang Tower, also writing 'Inscription on Yuejiang Tower'. Xiuqiu Park is named after Xiuqiu Mountain, echoing the image of a lion playing with an embroidered ball. The flowers in Xiuqiu Park are blooming beautifully, with wisteria also competing for attention. It seems the older I get, the more I enjoy the competitive blooming of spring. Currently, there are hydrangeas and separate small flowers blooming; in another week, the 'Endless Summer' variety will also bloom, making it even more beautiful then. The hydrangeas in Wuchao Gate Park are also incredibly beautiful, so you might want to visit there first. Then, take a stroll in Xiaotaoyuan. A hundred years ago, this place was already covered with peach blossoms, hence the name 'Xiaotaoyuan'. Today's Xiaotaoyuan Park remains the largest peach blossom viewing area within Nanjing city. To end the trip, take bus 100 back to Xinjiekou and enjoy some ice cream at Sister Ping's hotpot restaurant.
