Wat Phra That Nong Bua: Ubon Ratchathani

Location: 108 Nai Mueang Subdistrict, Mueang District, Ubon Ratchathani Province This is a public temple affiliated with the Dhammayutika Nikaya sect. It was built in 1955. The Phra That Chedi Si Maha Pho is a replica of the Mahabodhi Stupa in Bodh Gaya, India. Each of the four sides of the stupa is carved with the Buddha images for each day of the week and adorned with lotus petals. The lower base is carved with images of the Buddha's birth, enlightenment, first sermon, and parinirvana. Another highlight of this temple is the statue of the Naga King Chaphayaputta.
