Lovely room, bed was amazing. Food was superb. Staff were fantastic. Leisure pool could do with a re fresh and our room was freezing cold. The heating kept switching itself off. Room 244. Would stay again but in the Warmer months.
Nice relaxing place, beautiful garden. Only issue I had no water available at night. Vending machine cash only. Rest of hotel card only. Reception staff were not helpful. Could not offer a glass of water. Disappointed.
Located on part of the Birmingham University campus in Edgbaston so good location for academic conferences / visiting the university, also short distance to dental hospital, cricket ground, tennis centre etc. Plenty of free parking including blue badge and EV charging. Check-in was quick and efficient. Angela, who checked us in, was friendly and helpful. There is a large bar which serves smaller meals throughout the day and also a restaurant in the evening. The bar food was average price for hotel food (£12+ for sandwich with some soup) and average quality. Room was clean and tidy, with modern decor. It was very spacious and well equipped with seating and table, ironing board, plenty of pillows, pod coffee machine and plenty of coffee pods, tea bags etc. Black out blinds worked well and there was minimal noise from other rooms / corridor. Would definitely stay again if in the Edgebaston / Birmingham area.
Overall good, the room looks a bit dated and the AC was not working so had a warm evening. The shower took about 5 mins to work but overall good for the money.
Ibis Birmingham Airport - NEC Review
The Ibis Birmingham Airport - NEC offers exactly what one would expect from an airport hotel - convenient location and comfortable accommodation. Situated perfectly for travellers using Birmingham Airport, the hotel's position couldn't be more practical.
The rooms, whilst not luxurious, provided a warm and cosy environment, which was particularly welcome after a long day of travel. The accommodation was clean and maintained to a satisfactory standard, meeting the basic needs of the airport traveller.
The food served at the hotel was adequate, nothing particularly remarkable but certainly passable for a short stay. The menu offered standard fare typical of what one might expect from a chain hotel restaurant.
What truly stands out about this establishment is its strategic location. For those with early morning flights or late arrivals, the proximity to the airport terminals makes this Ibis an eminently practical choice.
In summary, whilst the Ibis Birmingham Airport - NEC won't win any awards for luxury or fine dining, it serves its purpose admirably as an airport hotel. If you're looking for a convenient, comfortable place to rest before or after a flight, this hotel fits the bill perfectly. A sensible choice for airport accommodation.
It's a nice hotel but you have to remember that a lot of people book this hotel as a wedding venue. We stayed from Friday to Sunday and the first night was awful. There was a wedding going on and the music was so loud and didn't stop until 12.15am and then it took another half an hour for the very noisy, drunk guest to leave.
On Saturday there was another wedding but this time the type of people were different and so there was no loud music and I hardly heard the people leaving. My room was a family room in the coach house.
Sunday morning some builders started work in the coach house at 8 am which I was not happy about so I told them and they stopped.
Another thing was the lift not working so my elderly Mum found it really hard walking up to the second floor. However, the hotel was able to give us a ground floor room which wasn't a family room but we managed to squeeze in a single bed.
The staff were great and the breakfast was decent.
My recent stay was undoubtedly an exquisite journey that exceeded all expectations. From the moment I stepped into the lobby, every detail exuded quality and thoughtfulness, making for a truly delightful and relaxing experience.
The hotel's location is simply perfect. It's nestled in a vibrant part of the city, offering convenient transportation and a full array of amenities nearby, yet cleverly tucked away from the bustling main streets, creating a tranquil sanctuary. It's an ideal choice for both business travelers and leisure seekers.
Stepping into the guest room, the spacious and bright interior, coupled with elegant decor, immediately captivated me. The bedding was incredibly soft and comfortable, and the pillows were just right, providing a sublime sleep experience for a weary traveler. The bathroom featured a separate wet and dry area, and the high-quality toiletries made for a refreshing and pleasant shower. The in-room smart amenities were user-friendly, allowing easy control over lighting, curtains, and temperature, showcasing both modern technology and thoughtful design. Daily housekeeping was meticulous, not only keeping the environment spotless but also thoughtfully tidying belongings and replenishing drinks. The occasional handwritten greeting card added an extra touch of warmth.
In terms of dining, the hotel also earned a perfect score. The breakfast spread was extensive, featuring local specialties like the delicious [specific snack name], alongside exquisite Western pastries and freshly prepared egg dishes. The ingredients were fresh, and the taste was superb. Dinner at the hotel's [restaurant name] was equally impressive; the dishes were beautifully plated, and the cooking techniques were masterful. The staff's professional and thorough explanation of the dishes and wine pairings was particularly memorable.
The service team was truly the highlight of this stay. The front desk staff were genuinely friendly, and check-in was efficient and seamless. They were also able to offer personalized itinerary suggestions based on guests' needs. The concierge team was professional and enthusiastic, assisting with itinerary planning and vehicle bookings. What touched me most was when a room service attendant, upon learning I had a slight cold, proactively brought me ginger tea. This unexpected act of kindness made me feel incredibly warm and cared for.
Furthermore, the hotel's leisure facilities are excellent. The gym is well-equipped, the pool water is crystal clear, and the spa center offers professional treatments, making them perfect places to relax and unwind. The business center features advanced equipment, and the meeting rooms provide a quiet environment, catering to the diverse needs of guests.
All in all, with its prime location, comfortable guest rooms, delicious dining options, and exceptional service quality, the hotel created an unforgettable stay for me. It's not just a temporary stop on a journey, but something that genuinely enhances the entire travel experience. I will definitely return in the future and highly recommend it to my friends.

GGuest UserVery pleasant stay.. pub restaurant offered info on food allergies. Food was great. Rooms (I rebooked) were great, bath and shower that actually did what they said… no getting soaked trying to turn on shower. As a single female traveller, felt safe. Will rebook next visit . Staff are friendly and helpful.
