Hotel near Dongjiekou Shopping Center,Fuzhou 49.8% of visitors choose this area

This was my first time visiting Fuzhou, and since I was traveling with family during the Chinese New Year, I booked three rooms for three nights. The hotel's location is excellent, right next to Wuyi Square, so you can walk over to watch the flag-raising ceremony, or even just enjoy the view from your room if you don't feel like going out! It's about a kilometer's walk from the hotel to Sanfang Qixiang, where you can really delve into the residences of famous figures from Fuzhou's modern history. On the morning of the first day of Chinese New Year, the hotel even organized a grand worship ceremony and a lion dance performance, which was a great experience for guests. My only suggestion would be: could the laundry facilities be made free of charge? It's a small expense that shouldn't really be charged for. I imagine there are very few hotels left in China that still charge for washing machines and dryers.

Traveling with seniors, staying here was a good choice. The location is quite convenient, right in a food street with many dining options. It's about 700m walk to Guan Yue Temple. You can also reach the operating area of the 'Little White Cars' (electric rickshaws/taxis) within a few hundred meters. I suggest the hotel could remind guests at check-in about the most convenient 'Little White Car' pick-up point from the hotel. We spent quite a while looking for it. The room hygiene was acceptable. The window could be opened for fresh air, and the shower had hot water very quickly. The hotel robot delivery service for takeout was very convenient. Areas for improvement: The carpet near the elevator on the fifth floor was particularly dirty, and the air quality there was poor. It was like this for all three days of our stay, suggesting it hasn't been cleaned in a long time.

I stayed at the Lakeside Hotel by Fuzhou's West Lake, and the environment was truly serene and pleasant. The service was attentive and thoughtful, making me feel right at home. The breakfast was a particular highlight – an impressive array of choices, with both authentic Fujianese snacks and Western dishes done exceptionally well. The fish balls were tender and flavorful, the taro paste was smooth and comforting, and the freshly cooked guobianhu (a local specialty) was piping hot, starting the day off perfectly. Overall, it was a comfortable and enjoyable experience that I'd highly recommend.

As soon as we got off the car, the waiter helped us take our luggage and sent it to the room. The room was quite large, in good sanitary condition, with all kinds of facilities. The service attitude of the front desk staff was also very good. The breakfast was rich in variety, and there was an electric car to deliver it to the hotel gate. The hotel environment is very good, the geographical location is excellent, and it is very close to the ancient city of Zhangzhou. My mother and I are very satisfied with our stay and will choose to stay here again in the future.

This hotel is located in the heart of Siming District, making it super convenient for getting around. It's really close to MixC Mall and the north entrance of Xiamen Railway Station, and also a short distance from the Cruise Center. The breakfast spread is fantastic, with fresh fruit and delicious dishes. The front desk staff and the lady on the 10th floor are very professional. The bellhops and the staff by the elevators are incredibly polite, and the coffee shop staff in the lobby are so welcoming!

The InterContinental quality is consistently excellent. The room was spacious, and the 2-meter king-size bed was incredibly comfortable. I loved the Byredo toiletries – they smell amazing! The hotel offers fantastic views of the river, the Ferris wheel, and Jinjiang Bridge, which are stunning both day and night. Plus, there's a shopping mall downstairs, making it super convenient for shopping and dining. Since I was with my younger brother, the hotel provided a complimentary breakfast, which had a great variety of options. Overall, I had a wonderful experience, and I'll definitely choose to stay here again on my next trip to Quanzhou.

## Review **Ambiance:** I'd say it was just okay, a traditional five-star hotel setup, pretty standard. But I'm not sure if it's because of the humidity in the south, but there was an indescribable smell when I entered the room. **Cleanliness:** The room itself was decent. However, some of the cutlery in the restaurant was a bit dirty. You can see it in the picture if you zoom in – there were hard white spots on the knife. **Service:** The cleaning staff in the guest rooms were very friendly and responsive to requests. However, the front desk service on the 40th floor was just mediocre. I've stayed in many five-diamond hotels of major brands in various cities, and in other cities, the staff always made me feel right at home. But in Fuzhou, they were quite indifferent. The only contact was a perfunctory follow-up call after checking out. I think you could learn from practices in the Jiangsu and Zhejiang regions, as well as Guangdong. They often have dedicated butlers, and both the front desk and butlers actively contact guests, checking in and showing genuine care. Especially in Guangzhou, the service is so good it almost makes you feel embarrassed! **Food:** The breakfast offered mostly local specialties. I'm someone who isn't usually picky, but I found many dishes unappetizing, and the variety wasn't great. I suppose it's understandable if they're trying to cut costs. **Overall, I didn't have a good experience!**

Hotel near Zhongshan Road Area,Xiamen 39.2% of visitors choose this area

This hotel is located right on Xiamen's busiest street, Zhongshan Road Pedestrian Street. It has a Nanyang style, and the decor is very new, but the rooms don't have a renovation smell, which is great. It's very comfortable. The family room is quite spacious with two 1.8-meter beds. The upper bunk of the bunk bed can even fit one adult and one child, and the safety measures are well done. The family room faced the street, and initially, we didn't close the balcony door properly; it wasn't locked tightly. Zhongshan Road is very noisy, which made it hard to sleep at night. We provided feedback the next day, and they took it very seriously. Staff quickly came to check the soundproofing strips and showed us how to lock the door for maximum sound insulation, which made the second night much better. However, the hallway near the family rooms was often noisy with children. You could hear sounds late at night and very early in the morning, including crying and shouting kids, and even clear conversations from people walking by. So, if you're a light sleeper, I'd suggest not booking a family room. Different room types are in separate areas, which offers good privacy.

EElizabeth Frances RoseThis place makes me wish there was an option for six stars. I study Asian art for a living, and I travelled to Jianyang to visit the home of Jian ware, classic tea bowls of the Song dynasty (960 to 1279 CE), distinguished by their black and brown glazes. Over the last few decades, firing Jian ware in the Song tradition has been revived in the area. I chose Nanping Colourful Village Homestay because it was in Jianyang, affordable, and accepted international guests. What I found was a luxury resort with all the warmth and personal attention of a homestay. I asked the front desk about an excavated Song kiln site in a nearby village, and the receptionist brought me the manager, who arranged for someone to take me the next day. My driver was Ms. Huang, an employee of the resort whose job involves buying and selling contemporary pieces. She knew everything about Jian ware! The kiln site isn’t run as a tourist site, so I was only able to view it because Ms. Huang arranged for it to be opened for me. I had told them I was vegetarian, so for lunch they took me to lunch at a vegetarian buffet. Then we visited the town’s Jian ware museum, where they have exhibits on the history of tea and Jian ware, historical pieces, and the work of contemporary Jianyang potters. To my delight, Mr. Gao, the potter-in-residence at the resort, uses a Song-style wood-fired dragon kiln, built right on the grounds! His pieces that range from beautiful but quite affordable to exquisite and appropriately expensive. They include both iridescent silvery oil spot and orange-to-black hare’s fur pieces. I am still thrilled that I was able to purchase wood-fired pieces on my limited budget. For dinner, the resort’s restaurant prepared vegetarian versions of Fujian cuisine for me. The food was all delicious, featuring classic Fujianese mountain ingredients like local bamboo and mushrooms. Then we visited Mr. Gao’s dragon kiln, and later his studio, where he experiments with different local clays and glaze recipes. The rich colours and iridescence of Jian ware are the result of the iron-rich local material fired at high temperature, and the results are as unpredictable as they are beautiful. The next day, they drove me to Mr. Chen’s family tea plantation in the mountains, where they grow famous northern Fujian teas. These fine teas were all wonderful, smooth and rich with a touch of smoke, and sometimes fruity in flavour. We strolled through mountainsides of tea bushes and visited groves of centuries-old tea trees. This is a perfect place for an immersive experience in China that is also very comfortable and convenient. I often find tourist experiences in China claustrophobic due to the press of people, but the resort was spacious and airy, and they took me to places where there was no one else but us and the occasional local going about their business. Everyone was very patient with my limited Chinese language skills. They were also happy to work with translator apps on our phones, so if you don’t speak any Chinese, you will be fine. This would be a great place to come as a family. There are gardens and rides for kids right next to the resort. You can learn how to whip Song-style tea and carve your name into the base of your own Jian ware cup. Not far away is a historical theme park with a collection of real architecture from the Ming (1368 to 1644 CE) and Qing (1636 to 1912 CE) dynasties. The employees wear period dress and there are performances and activities. Nearby there are hiking trails, historical sites, and lovely villages to visit. It’s also very close to Wuyi Mountain National Park, so it would be a perfect place to stay if the mountains are your destination. If you ask, they could arrange for you to visit famous sites or take you to breathtaking places that only locals know, whatever you want. They can also arrange transport to and from the train station or airport.

GGuest UserThis hotel boasts an excellent location, right next to the cruise terminal and directly opposite Gulangyu Island. It's also conveniently close to other attractions, making getting around a breeze. The hotel itself is quite nice, with good facilities and spacious rooms, and the service is top-notch. The breakfast spread is extensive, though the only minor drawback is that they're a bit slow to replenish items. This would be my first choice for hotels in Xiamen.

CChidaobaoThere was one staff member, 'Jingjing,' who particularly stood out. She was incredibly dedicated in her introductions and very good at solving problems, leaving a fantastic first impression of the hotel. When checking out, I encountered several housekeeping staff, and one lady in a black uniform was also very kind, repeatedly reminding us to call for the shuttle. I believe she might be a supervisor in that area. She even spoke Fuzhou dialect with my mother. I will definitely arrange future events here. I'm so satisfied that I wanted to write a bit more – these excellent frontline staff members are truly an asset and the management should definitely retain them.

GGuest UserThe room has a 270° panoramic floor-to-ceiling window, which is very cool. If you are lucky, you can watch the sunrise directly from the bed! ! The facilities are super new, and there are even disposable face towels in the washbasin, which is highly praised! Even the hair dryer is a Dyson! ! After we moved in, we asked Receptionist No. 1 to accompany the guests. The cat car was super nice and the brother Luoye Zhiqiu's attitude was also super, super nice! ! He always helped me to find the car and picked up the things we left at the B&B! ! ! The overall experience is great

The hotel has a large outdoor swimming pool and a small animal park for my child to play. The bed in the room is large, clean and tidy, and comfortable. The hotel also has children's slippers and children's toothbrushes. It is very suitable for bringing children. I will recommend it to friends who bring their children to Xiamen.

XXiyuexue❄️The environment here is quite beautiful, and I heard it's the best hotel in the area. It's clean, and the service is warm and attentive. The facilities are new, and the front desk staff, seeing we had a lot of luggage, kindly upgraded us to a larger room for free, which was really thoughtful – a big thank you! Also, the bedding in this hotel is super comfortable, just the right firmness. Breakfast is plentiful and tastes great too! There's even a helipad on the hotel's rooftop that guests can visit for photos, though it's only open for one hour each in the morning, afternoon, and evening. You can catch the sunrise in the morning and sunset in the evening, but unfortunately, the timing didn't work out for our visit, so it wasn't open. All in all, this is a really great hotel!

JJoyuuuuuuThe environment is quite enchanting. Our room was on the outer perimeter, but unfortunately, there's a villa being built next door. It didn't affect us since we were out most of the day, but if you plan on relaxing in the room, it can get a bit noisy (though earplugs are provided in the room). This hotel is great for those who enjoy morning runs or walks. You can use your room key to access the Chongyang Stream scenic trail by the river, offering beautiful mountain views. The hotel's breakfast buffet is really good, with a decent variety. You absolutely *must* try the lard noodles and Zixi noodles, loaded with toppings – they're super delicious! In the room, having two sinks is very convenient for two people, but a small detail to note: the inner rim of the washbasin area should be cleaned regularly to prevent mold. There's also a good selection of pillows to choose from, so you can find one that suits you. The hotel also offers some nice free experiences, like various handicraft workshops. We didn't try the travel photography though.
