Indian Gourmet Summary 📍INDIA — traveler post in Varanasi

Indian Gourmet Summary 📍INDIA

Indian food was 100 times more delicious than I imagined (^^)💓 I'm afraid to eat food from street stalls, but there were many dishes that Japanese people like☺️ (And in Varanasi, I only went to Japanese restaurants☺️lol) 📍 Varanasi 📸2, 🔸 BABA LASSI I think of lassi as a drink, but the lassi sold in Varanasi was like yogurt in a bowl☺️It was delicious☺️ Pomegranates are also famous in India, so I had pomegranate lassi. It was delicious, but a local Indian acquaintance of mine told me that even Indians would get an upset stomach if they ate lassi from a city like that. lol 📸 🔸 Sushi Cafe And Continental Restaurant Varanasi is a compact city and a super tourist destination, so there were many Japanese and Korean restaurants. It was delicious, but the gyoza tasted rotten. That night, Mana's condition worsened. 📍New Delhi 📸 🔸AMA CAFE A cafe famous for its breakfast. It's a cafe in a Tibetan settlement, but it's super stylish. And it's super delicious. It might be expensive by Indian standards, but we added two drinks to the BREAKFAST (with drink) for 1800 yen for two people. Super cheap. Super tasty. The best. 📸 🔸Waho Tenzin Hotel This is also a curry restaurant in a Tibetan settlement. The curry here was the best meal I've had in India! The butter naan is also great. I want to come back and eat it again! Address: Outer Ring Rd, New Aruna Colony, Dekhang, Timarpur, New Delhi, Delhi, 110054 India 📸 🔸Market stall Extra edition. My friend, sister in law, was eating it so I took a photo 🥺 Is it delicious? I wonder...? Apparently it's really spicy. #besttrip2023 #India #Varanasi

What to do in Varanasi — traveler post in Varanasi

What to do in Varanasi

I took a sleeper train from Agra 🚃 I went to Varanasi, a holy place for Hindus ✨ The moment I saw the Ganges, tears flowed for some reason, but Takemochi, who was next to me, was laughing (maybe) Things to do in Varanasi ✨ 🚣 Watch the sunrise over the Ganges and take a boat to see the baths. They say that bathing in the Ganges cleanses all your sins ☺️ You have to be careful because you can get ripped off for the price of the boat ride on the Ganges, but I'm sure it's okay because bathing in the Ganges cleanses your sins every day. 🥹🫶 🛎️Puja A sacred worship service is held every day and anyone can see it. Because so many people come, there are people who wait for seats from about 2 hours before the event‼ ️ Some people were crying, and the Indian next to me asked, Is this your first time seeing Puja? It's really nice, so enjoy yourself, they told me. 🚶 I walked through the narrow alleys, the winding roads like a maze, and then a tout started talking to me. If you can speak Japanese, they basically try to talk you out of being a YouTuber (I fell for it). The touts were awful~☺️lol #india #varanasi #besttrip2023

The Ghat Dawn: Assi's Step-Crowd Care — traveler post in Varanasi

The Ghat Dawn: Assi's Step-Crowd Care

#tripbestshot Sunrise on Assi Ghat Waking up at 4:30 a.m. to catch the sunrise at Assi Ghat was, without exaggeration, one of the most memorable decisions of my trip. The ghat was already alive — not in a chaotic way, but with a deep, rhythmic pulse. Pilgrims chanting, boats bobbing, and the scent of incense mixing with the cold morning air. I took a boat ride for ₹150, which I later realized was slightly overpriced, but worth every rupee for the view of the rising sun gilding the riverfront. Be careful where you step — the steps are uneven and can be slippery with water and ash. I wore sandals and regretted it by the end. Locals are friendly and always up for a chat, but be wary of self-proclaimed “guides” who latch on and demand payment later. If you're respectful and observe from a distance, you'll catch a side of Varanasi that guidebooks barely scratch. Have you witnessed a ritual so rooted in tradition that it made you pause and reconsider your own pace of life?

The Ghat Steps: Dasaswamedh's Crowd Care — traveler post in Varanasi

The Ghat Steps: Dasaswamedh's Crowd Care

#travellikealocal Varanasi Chaos Taught Me to Slow Down Varanasi’s Dasaswamedh Ghat is unforgettable, but those ancient stone steps are slick, uneven, and packed. I watched a tourist sprint down toward the water for a photo and wipe out hard—phone flying, knees scraping. Locals rushed to help, not out of duty, but habit. They know the ghats demand caution. I started using the handrails where possible, keeping my right hand free for balance and my left on my bag. Footwear with grip matters more here than anywhere else I’ve been. I also kept small notes in a front pocket—boatmen and flower sellers often request tips, and haggling is expected, but politely. Cremation ceremonies happen daily. Photographing them is disrespectful. I sat instead, watching the river do its work. Would you rather capture a moment or let it pass untouched?
