ok we know where it is and not the best area in run down seaside town ? much like most of them in the UK (mainly due to influx of east europeans, looking for affordable accomodation, not a slur on Nationality),this hotel has probably seen better days..BUT the room was spotless (very HOT due to main Sash window in bedroom not able to be opened..so we opened shower room window !!) could not work out shower, so we had a refreshing cool one lol. Garden/Courtyard seemed very busy and noisy at 3.30 in the morning ? but hey we,ve all been their if not get a life. Would we come back..certainly..close to all amenities but AVOID ..Harry Ramsdens Fish and chips..10 minutes down rd TOBY..excellent value All you can eat food..Cheers

I’m so glad I only had to stay two nights in this hotel. As soon as I lay down on the bed I realised I was allergic to the fabric detergent I told Linda, who runs the establishment with her Husband Larry, but she didn’t even offer to change the sheets and I am now covered from head to toe in allergies spots which are very itchy. I’m very painful. Also, I realised, unfortunately after my stay, that I had been put in a single room but I had paid for a double room. I raised this with the hotel and they wrote back to me lying saying that I have booked a single room. I wonder what part of “ Standard double room“ means single bed to them at this hotel. I wonder where a second person is supposed to sleep in a single bed if I had had a second person with me. Also appreciate I didn’t raise this at the time because I didn’t realise until afterwards I don’t like them implying that I am a liar which is effectively what they’ve done by saying that I booked a standard single room which is not what it says on my booking confirmation. I am not a liar. They are not particularly friendly hosts. Yes, they can be helpful, but there’s no smile on their faces. There’s no happiness in the place and everything seems to be too much trouble for them. I would not recommend staying at this hotel. I should have realised the sort of standard they were going to be when they were not as expensive as the other hotels in the vicinity. Thankfully I was only there for two nights but what a complete waste of money. Oh yes I almost forgot. They allow their various dogs to run around the breakfast room begging the people staying there for food. Disgusting and unhygienic. Also there was mold in the shower. The photo shows the allergic reaction on my arms.

My dad went on a coach trip and stayed in this hotel. As you can imagine bus trips are generally for elderly people this time of year which this hotel is not disabled friendly despite what it states on their website. The hotel put my dad in a room where he had two flights of stairs that he at to climb up and down to get to his room in addition to using the lift. When asked if he could re-locate to a different room, it was not possible as he was informed the hotel was full. However, they did say that if he called reception they would see if they could get someone to assist him but my dad didn’t want to keep bothering reception and staff. The temperature of his room was cold and spent his first night cold whilst his friend in another room slept in his coat. He reported his room being cold and the hotel sorted this out but felt it was an inconvenience. Food was not that great. Had a beef stew one night which the beef was like leather. Not quite sure how this hotel is rated a 4 star but can’t help that as they were elderly guests on a trip. They were treated like being in an old people’s home with very little respect like you find in some residential homes. Each time they reported a problem, he said they didn’t seem to be bothered. This was my dad’s first bus trip experience and is frequent traveller, mainly abroad. But wouldn’t recommend this hotel to anyone especially for those with mobility issues or disabled. Certainly not disabled friendly.

Each room is equipped with microwave, fridge and a kettle. The location is very good. It is very near the beach, local amusements and the town centre.

My husband and I made a booking for Sunday dinner in the restaurant. The dinner itself was excellent, really nice veg and the meat was tender and tasty. I am gluten intolerant and Emma, who served us, was so helpful. She was knowledgeable about the ingredients and she recommended a gf dessert that was not on the menu which I enjoyed very much. Emma ensured I was able to enjoy my meal and not miss out as is often the case. Thanks Emma for a lovely afternoon.
