We upgraded from 2 suites from a package TUI booking pool villa 838 costing about 42K THB for 14 nights in November and December 2022. 2 adults, and 2 kids age 17 and 10 so the privacy of a private pool was one of our highlights of the holiday. This is such a peaceful resort with beautiful surroundings and very helpful staff. Notably Emme, Gift, Mark, Tee, Big, Yuda, Tar, Pecky and Winai. This resort is not within walking distance of town / Biang Nang market area, and a taxi to go there will set you back 300 THB each way from the guys on the beach outside the gate. That's the going rate both ways so don't be conned by a chancer. In the resort there's 2 restaurants, one's a buffet and the Napalai on the villa side of the river and you can eat from both if you upgrade. There are 2 swimming pools, several bars and organised trips to temples, islands, local markets, animal sanctuaries offered from the front desk or holiday rep so you aren't cut off from civilisation by being in such a remote area surrounded by beach and jungle, which is actually a plus point if you're a surfer, nature or beach lover because this resort scores a 10 if that's what interests you. We didn't travel to Thailand for the nightlife, just to chill in some winter sun. There's ample entertainment just 10 minutes away from the resort, in town or Memories bar, but if you want boom, boom, boom and all night drinking go to Phuket instead. I'd definitely return, but not with children.

This is 2nd time to stay at Le Meridien Khao Lak and always good to be back. Thank you so much to upgrade my room to deluxe room 1215 that is closed to the beach. The room is very tidy and clean. Both Receptionist and Bellman are helpful and friendly. Especially, Khun Ing at The Nest restaurant, she comes to talk and recommends us great foods for dinner. I have been here the second time and i found quite few unpleasant things at the property . First the property has gone old ,the color of villas , cottages needs a repaint . That really would bring back the freshness . Limited items in food menu for Travellers from indian subcontinent . I am a vegetarian and only had option of either pizaa or fried rice in the last 3 days . Plus the property has gone expensive witn no extra benefits . This things has to be looked upon as i came with my family to show them a great property but i was quite upset when i came here . Hope the message reaches the decisionmakers .

Super clean and newly renovated hotel with a small pool, located a little inland. Great value for money even for Thailand!!! Breakfast available for 150bht. Very friendly and helpful staff at reception. We were told the times for the local buses, and storing our luggage was no problem either. We will definitely come back here!!!

The room is quite spacious, the bed is soft, the bathroom is very good, but the glass balcony has a few stains. Beautiful swimming pool, good service staff The breakfast was very good. There are food of many nationalities. Overall it is considered good and suitable for relaxing.

We spent 10 nights at JW Marriott Khao Lak for our honeymoon and it was absolutely perfect for our needs! An utterly beautiful hotel with clean rooms and facilities and the kindest, most helpful staff I've ever come across in a hotel. Our room was spacious and beautiful, with direct access to the 2.4km pool - this was a great feature and it felt like we had a bit of private pool whilst being able to swim all the way to the main pool. The pool also adds to the feeling that you're in a village community rather than a commercial hotel, as we made friends with our ”neighbours” and would see them from time to time when we were out swimming. The hotel's beach is clean and stunning, the sun beds are thickly padded and comfortable, and we made use of the bodyboarding and kayaking equipment on our stay. The restaurants at the hotel were incredible! The main ones are Ta-Krai (Thai), Sakura (Japanese), and Olive (Italian). Before arriving I was a bit sceptical at how authentic the restaurants would be but the hotel has ensured they've brought in the best chefs who could bring authentic cuisine to Khao Lak. The sushi at Sakura was probably the freshest and tastiest I've ever had (albeit, I've not been to Japan yet, but it's still better than all the London sushi places where we live and even better than Nobu). We loved Olive restaurant too, in particular their Sunset BBQ evening where you're spoilt for choice on meats, seafood, sides, salads, and a full-on Italian cheese and ham bar with really delicious, authentic selections. Chef Enzo there was dishing out cheeses to us and making recommendations what to pair each cheese with and was so helpful (and the cheeses were incredible). We opted for the Breakfast and Dinner package and we're really glad we did as we loved going back to those restaurants over the 10 days. For lunch we'd eat at the hotel cafes, or out at excursions, or at local restaurants adjacent to the hotel, such as Phen's (delicious!). We also bought a spa package at Quan Spa in the hotel and booked in lots of treatments throughout our stay. The spa is beautiful and the massage therapists were excellent; it's a bit pricier than outside the hotel but the spa environment is worth it for that luxe feeling (and still cheaper than in the UK!). Overall, I don't think we found and faults with our stay at JWM and we will definitely come back in the future, perhaps for our anniversaries! And we would highly recommend it to all our family and friends!

We booked this 5 star resort and had a 3 star experience.pros and cons. Pros The staff were lovely, Nam and Yada were very friendly and looked after us very well in the Beach Bar restaurant. The A la Carte menu was large and the food was excellent. Smoothies were lovely and the wine was reasonable. In hindsight though I wish we had booked half board or bed and breakfast. Plenty of staff on reception. Great aircon Cons: All inclusive didn’t mean everything was all inclusive. Room service, the Japanese restaurant (the nearest bar to beach) and the drinks sold on the hotel beach were not included. Kids in the gym!!!!! Health and safety issues re the pool Not enough sun beds and no amenities on the lovely beach Limited draw space in the room, poor lighting in bathroom Too many unruly kids in the evening in the restaurant and hotel management invisible. I am still waiting for Tui and Kalima to respond to my complaint ref no 12244212 Tips Just book bed and breakfast, use as a base. Walk 10 minutes to the left down to the beach and spend your money with Farmai and Lanna. Local people with hearts of gold! Only book a week and move to a different location for your second week.

Had a wonderful stay at the sands as a family of 3 . Check in was a breeze as we arrived late at night due to a cancelled flight. Room was spacious however I did not like the layout of the room bathroom being very open, bed was comfortable , no issues with cleanliness - however some mosquitoes. Breakfast buffet was ok but very busy chaotic at times , we found it a bit repetitive the food options. Our daughter had the time of life at the pool,slides and playground it kept her busy all day. We enjoyed the swim up bar the cocktails were okay too sugary we enjoyed the happy hours at different bars at the resort we did walk along the beach 2 min walk to hippie fish bar and enjoyed the cocktails there more much better quality I believe happy hr was 6 to 7 there highly recommended good vibe. The gym was well maintained everything you need. We ate dinners at spinach, thenight markets, room service was great as well. We also loved the roti and fried chicken cart . Would only recommend staying here with children not as a couple.

The public facilities of the Pullman Hotel are unparalleled, the swimming pool design is perfect, the garden landscape is also very unique, you can watch the sunset on the beach, and there are many activities. The kids like it very much. But from my point of view, the floor of the room was not hygienic. I called the cleaning staff to clean it, and they cleaned it casually. It felt like the place didn't care about cleanliness, and it seemed that the hotel didn't have an inspection standard. In addition, the slippers in the hotel are all used. I don’t know if this is a popular trend in five-star hotels now. In short, there are both good and bad reviews. Looking forward to improvements.

Huge, beautiful property with all the amenities you could want in a resort. Spacious, modern and luxurious rooms, a rock climbing wall, basketball and tennis courts, games rooms, multiple restaurants, swimming pools, kids club and even a mini water park for the kids. Staff were very friendly and professional, food was delicious and the spa treatments were top notch as well. If you are considering a family getaway in khao lak l look no further.

Second visit absolutely loved it stayed in a villa breakfast fantastic staff fabulous my only moan would be people getting up at a ridiculous hour and putting towels on beds one day we couldn’t get a bed needs addressing

Ocean Leaf Great hotel, friendly staff, nice room, clean pool and good breakfast. 2 mins walk from a lovely clean Sandy beach. We stayed here for four nights to unwind before our backpacking adventure across Thailand. Do not try and eat within two hundred meters of the hotel if you want a nice and affordable meal, walk up to the main drag. Go Pong is a good choice, but there are lots of others. Was so impressed with this hotel 5 years ago that we returned again in October 2023 and they gave us the same room we occupied before. This was a water pool access room which is a must if you stay here. The rooms are large with a massive bed and has all the facilities you could wish for. Although we did no eat our main meals in the Italian restaurant we had breakfast which covers all variety of foods and freshly cooked eggs and bacon on request. All the staff are very pleasant and helpful. A particular mention to Tounchai the barman who served us daily at the pool bar during Happy hour with delicious cocktails. Also to the maid (sorry can't remember her name) who cleaned our room 1123 and left wonderful creations on our bed. The hotel is situated within 5 minutes walk from the beach and close to many bars and restaurants. Bang Niang Market which is 2 mins walk is open every Mon, Weds, Thur and Sat which does street food and has many stalls. The Waters is highly recommended.

The service staff are very helpful. There is no elevator in the hotel, so they help to lift it upstairs. The location is good, next to a local night market, but a bit far from the beach. The room card was lost. The front desk initially said that a compensation of 500 baht was required, but when they finally left, they only said that the compensation was 300 baht, which was quite reasonable.

In my whole month in Thailand I have never had such an appalling experience. After a long and hot drive here I was half asleep when I arrived. I just wanted a cold drink but the owner was keen to check me in. I had booked a double room with mountain view on booking.com at £25 per night. The owner advised this room would be very noisy and suggested I stay in a room at the back of the hotel. As I was so disorientated I agreed and paid. He then tried to get me to book tours even though on email communication I had said I’d do this when I’d settled in. When I got to the room is was tiny! The air con was poor and the sheets and towels not clean. I’d also been charged the £25 per night rate. When I spoke to him it became apparent that he’d cancelled my booking.com room and put me on the standard room rate. This small room would have been 25% cheaper on booking.com. To me this is immoral but the owner basically said it was tough luck. I could take another small room but it would be at his rate and not the booking.com rate. By this point I was exhausted and in tears. He just kept smiling which really upset me. I said I would not be staying and he obviously kept my money but he was really aggressive when I asked for my passport photocopy and personal details back which he had no right to keep. This is the absolute worst experience I’ve had in any hotel around the world. Maybe it was because I was a single female traveller. If you are in Khao Lak to dive please do yourself a favour and go to the Monkey Dive Hostel, the staff there are super helpful and kind.

Cape Kudu was the perfect island getaway. With that being said, the location is very secluded and requires multiple methods of transport. Although necessary and obvious for an island stay to be secluded, there could be increased methods of getting to the island. Service was impeccable. We celebrated a birthday here and the staff left a small complimentary cake in our room on the day of! They really go above and behind to make your stay amazing. Breakfast is also great - an immense assortment. There’s a roti station, egg station and lots of local and Western dishes available. Overall, would definitely stay at the Cape locations around Thailand!

Hotel I love! Although it is a little far away from Phuket, it takes about 50 minutes by boat, but the environment on the island is really good, and it is very quiet, which is very suitable for vacation. The hotel is basically full of European and American tourists. We also talked to a couple from Germany. They said they were repeat customers. They especially liked it, so they went on holiday again. There is a big swing on the beach, it's super popular! There is also a small swing in the room, and it is a pleasant time to take a nap on it at noon. The restaurant has to add a service fee. The overall price is a bit expensive, but the portion of the dish is large and it is on the island, so it is normal for the price to be a little expensive. There are Thai food and Western food. I think the taste is very good and delicious! There was a singer at night, and the atmosphere was great. Overall very satisfied, I have the opportunity to take my parents back again!

Ins Internet celebrity hotel. . . won't be too disappointed, It won’t be so amazing. There are really wild hornbills in the hotel. Bananas will be used to lure them down from time to time. Don’t forget to see it. The round-trip transportation is very expensive. This is a small island. There is no cost environment to compare with the city. , not necessary

First time to review the hotel. Let's talk about the hotel's good location right on the beach! The beach is across the pool! Corals and shells on the beach! In the morning, the ebb tide time is not suitable for diving into the sea. After 2 pm, you can go to the sea. If you can swim a little farther, you can find a lot of sea urchins. It is very fun! This island is really original, quiet and suitable for family vacations! The locals of the hotel are also very kind and warm to the Chinese! The day before check-out will also ask if you need to make an appointment to send the car to the dock. The price is also reasonable! Let ’s talk about the hotel hardware. I really bought Karma. The room for 1,000 yuan a night is very small. There is no toilet. No comb and toothbrush. Go to the front desk to buy a toothbrush. 150 baht. A toothbrush. I can see a lot of geckos eating on the wall outside. We ate two meals left at the two restaurants outside the hotel. The most unacceptable thing is that since there is no alcohol in the outside restaurant, it is said that only the hotel buys alcohol. 7-11 is far from the hotel and did not buy alcohol! Monopolize all, how powerful this hotel owner is. We bought enough snacks on Phuket before going to the island, instant noodles and drinks on the island! If you want to go, you must be prepared or you will spend a lot of money in the hotel. Anyway, except for the beach, it ’s really not good!

The hotel is well-equipped with nearly 100 small independent villas. The infinity pool is amazing. The staff are very polite and nice. You can book sea tours directly at the hotel. The tour guide Toby is very nice. The price is reasonable and can be included in the room fee. In addition Be sure to try eating in the hotel restaurant, the prices are cheap and the food is of high quality! The only uncomfortable thing is that the bedding in the room is hard and damp, and there are paper towels thrown by previous guests in the bedside table that have not been cleaned. Overall a good stay. Feels like it’s one of the best on the island. If you’re looking for a really quiet town with lots of sun and relaxation, this is it. Resort food leaves something to be desired. There is much better (and cheaper) food up the road within a few steps. Cleanliness is on par with the what I’ve seen elsewhere in Thailand. Would go back!

This was our second stay at Thiwson. We stayed at the Deluxe Beach Front Villa ( room # A2) and it is definitely worth the extra money. Amazing view and a jacuzzi. Daily house keeping and really nice but basic breakfast. The staff is very friendly and helpful and always ready to help if you need anything. The restaurant is really great and cheap. We can’t recommend enough and we will probably be back.

The bunk bed is very suitable for families with two children. The slide pool and the children's activity room ocean ball are suitable for parents and children. The hotel is relatively new as a whole and has a good design. The swimming pool in the front area is very quiet and suitable for honeymoon families. The hotel is a large complex intended for a large (Chinese) clientele. It is very well located with direct access to the beach and close to small restaurants. The rooms are pleasant, clean and well maintained. As the Chinese clientele has not yet returned since Covid, the services are rather average due to a lack of staff who are nevertheless very friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet is very average and there is no possibility of lunch or dinner although the dining room is huge. Ko Yao Yai being renowned for being wilder than the rest of the islands in the region, it is not surprising that the tourist take-off is late and life seems ”in slow motion”.
