Hesperia Hotels in Barcelonès

The front desk staff upgraded us to a top-floor room, which was very spacious and had a large terrace. The bathroom was roomy with a separate wet and dry area. The fridge was stocked daily with four Coca-Colas, a large bottle of sparkling water, and purified water. The hotel is located in the old town, perfect for shopping! The lobby offers free hot milk, hot coffee, sugar, and small cookies. There's also a public lounge area on the second floor.

The room was quite spacious; my friend and I had no problem opening up both our suitcases. The water pressure in the bathroom was excellent, making showers and hair washing quite comfortable. The location is pretty good too – a bit far from the subway but there's a bus stop right outside. It's super convenient for getting to Casa Milà, Casa Batlló, and Sagrada Família. The area feels safe, with plenty of food and drink options nearby. The staff were very friendly and spoke English fluently, so communication was a breeze. However, there were a few issues. Firstly, there was no shower curtain for the bathtub, so the bathroom floor was soaked every time we showered, and it got quite chilly after a while. Secondly, the duvet didn't have a proper cover; instead, two sheets were used above and below it, and all three layers were tucked in so tightly under the mattress by the staff that we had to struggle to pull the duvet out every night. We ended up asking the front desk not to make our beds for the rest of our stay. Though, I hear this duvet cover situation might be common in Europe. Lastly, the soundproofing was really poor. We were lucky our neighbors weren't too noisy, and my friend and I aren't particularly sensitive to sound, but you could honestly hear every little thing happening next door. All in all, it was a mixed bag, but for the price and location, we couldn't really expect much more.

Location is pretty far, yet metro goes close. Hard to find exact building cuz chekin is on the other building. Even tho is the same hotel line for the pool you have to pay extra. Furniture quite old, but spacy rooms. Love how hotels says its smart tv when it isnt. In general it wasnt bad but nothing special. Free coffe from machine quite nice.
