We visited several years ago for several nights, the whole place has since gone down hill. Breakfast is a bun fight style buffet, no individual service with all the usual hygiene risks involved in all guests handling the same tongs and food lids, big risk of catching something. Rooms are still very good and comfortable. The alternative evening restaurant involves a lift in an electric buggy. The food is poor, I had to send my starter back and it was replaced with a different one which was low standard in my opinion. James Martin has his name attached to this one and he really needs to sort it out. The main restaurant is okay but not much better and of course more expensive. At £700 plus a night for a standard room it is vastly over priced. I would certainly not recommend Chewton to anyone else it is in my opinion resting on it's past performance, it is now not worth it's high price.

A great place for a high quality and relaxed long weekend stay. The atmosphere in the hotel was excellent - probably due to the staff in all areas who did all that was needed to make our stay so enjoyable. The dining experiences both formal and informal were very good. The Spa was of the highest standard - the staff, the services offered and the quality of the facilities made this a great experience.

Had a great dinner with friends love the place . Staff very efficient and helpful . We enjoyed it so much we are going to go back for our Christmas lunch . Plenty of parking and lovely grounds to have a walk after our lunch / looking forward to our return .

Lovely two night stay at Chewton Glen. Staff were welcoming and friendly. Had a meal in the dining room and the Kitchen and both were very good. Room was superb. Will definitely come back again

I was fortunate enough to stay and host 40 of our clients here recently on a work retreat. Everything was catered for by the events team and the day and evening went off without a hitch. The place itself, again, wonderful, the rooms, the food and the staff all truly superb. Thank you so much for making our event utterly perfect.
