Relaxing stay perfect choice
Couple staying for our anniversary. Dinner in both restaurants absolutely delicious and the service was impeccable. Spa facilities were decent however steam room by the pool was closed. This was not an issue as there is a steam room in the changing rooms. Gym and fitness classes were fun and easy to book as was the use of the pickle ball court. My partner played a round of golf which he enjoyed, the grounds are beautiful and so is the walk down to the beach. Lounge and bar staff lovely, great cocktails. Highly recommend Chewton glen

We held our 25th wedding anniversary renewal ceremony at Chewton Glen at the end of November 2024. We hosted 24 friends and family for the weekend, and could not fault the service we had from all of the wonderful staff. Georgia organised the whole thing and was totally amazing and made sure the weekend was as special as we wanted it. We stayed in a hideaway tree house, and our teenage children stayed next door in a loft suite treehouse. It gave us the perfect home from home accommodation to really relax and make the most of our stay. We chose Chewton Glen for our renewal after a stay in a treehouse for our 20th wedding anniversary. We knew it was the perfect place. I cannot recommend it enough, and am already looking forward to my next visit.

My husband and I recently enjoyed another truly wonderful night at the Chewton Glen. Our room was amazing overlooking the grounds with balconies leading off the lounge and bedroom areas. The Christmas decorations in the lobby and throughout the hotel were magical. What always stands out for us at the CG is the impeccable customer service which is always of the very highest standard, food of the highest quality and its certainly a place to make memories. We have stayed at the Chewton Glen many times and to say we had a great time every stay is an understatement! This is hospitality of the highest standard. Our sincere thanks to all the team that cared for us so well.

This is a beautiful hotel. I waited for a few hours in the lounge and was supposed to have lunch after my husband completed a cookery course at the kitchen just up the hill (on the hotel’s site). It was baffling. The receptionist was hasty and unwelcoming. The waiter on the door at breakfast looked over my head and ignored me and addressed the man standing behind me in the queue. There were two very nice bar men who looked after me in the lounge. Then I went to collect my husband from the kitchen so that we could have lunch but the course was over-running. I called the hotel to check whether being a bit late for our 1.30 reservation would be okay and was told that last orders for lunch were at 1.30 and as we were now at 1.40 we would only be able to have afternoon tea. Finally I was told that if I came alone and my husband walked down the hill to the hotel I might be able to order lunch after all. I cancelled our table in person as I needed to settle my lounge bill and the very nice waiter told me he wasn’t working in the dining room actually - and then said he was and he could help me after all. I found the whole experience really confusing and inflexible. I’m sure it’s different if you are a hotel guest but I’d been hoping to return to the spa and probably won’t now. I choose to visit hotels because I find them accommodating and flexible and CG seemed the opposite of that. Though very beautiful.
