Beach Hotels in Haikou

The service at Sofitel Haikou is truly heartwarming! The young concierge proactively helped us with our luggage, and the front desk staff were very patient and gave us a great introduction to the area. The hotel environment is luxurious, stylish, and comfortable. It's very close to the Hainan Science and Technology Museum and a short taxi ride to the duty-free mall, making our trips out and back completely hassle-free. Overall, the stay was exceptionally thoughtful and caring.

I honestly can't believe this is an InterContinental hotel. The hygiene was really concerning. When I entered the room, I saw dust bunnies all over the floor (like in pic 1). The bathroom had a strange odor, which seemed to be masked by an overly fragrant spray, creating a really weird mix of smells. The hairdryer was an old, outdated model; I don't care about the brand, but it's seriously time for an upgrade. The minibar was chargeable, and the only complimentary items were the 3-in-1 instant coffee shown in pic 2. The most ridiculous thing was that the public restroom on the floor below the lobby had no lights on (pic 3)! And that floor has a lot of foot traffic, it's not like it's a deserted area. The breakfast had a wide variety, but nothing was actually tasty, haha. I practically survived on omelets. However, the hotel offers excellent views, and while the room wasn't huge, the balcony was spacious. Sitting on the balcony, feeling the sea breeze, and watching the sunset was absolutely superb. Overall, this hotel is more like a Hualuxe business hotel in terms of quality. Only the name has been upgraded, nothing else. The price is cheap for an InterContinental, but expensive for a Hualuxe.

The hotel is definitely quite dated. Even though I specifically asked the butler for a higher floor, there was still a noticeable musty smell—which is somewhat understandable for a seaside property—and the room looked worn out. On the plus side, the soundproofing was decent, so I actually slept pretty well during my stay. My biggest complaint was the concierge service. When we arrived, there was no one at the entrance to help us. I could overlook it since it was the busy National Day holiday, but I checked out on October 8th when the crowd had already cleared. There were no other guests checking out at the same time. We had a kid with us, carrying tons of bags and dragging suitcases toward our car. Three staff members saw us coming out: one grabbed a couple of car sunshades, and the other two just followed along, chatting and laughing as they quickly walked away. They clearly pretended to be busy just to avoid giving us a hand, which was really disappointing and hard to understand. 😔 On another note, the dinner buffet was alright—infinitely better than the one at the Sheraton Haitang Bay (which is hands down the worst buffet in the world). The Chinese restaurant was delicious, and I especially loved the fried rice (though that might have been partly because I was starving that day).

The weather has been great recently, and on a business trip to Haikou, I chose to stay at The Langham again. I’ve stayed here before and it’s a really nice hotel with a British London-style vibe. Located right in the downtown area, MixC is just downstairs, making dining and everything else super convenient. The side ocean view from the room is lovely, and the front desk service is excellent—any questions were addressed and resolved immediately. They even thoughtfully helped arrange a late check-out until 2 PM, and issuing the invoice was quick and professional. This is my top hotel recommendation for business trips to Haikou, and I'll definitely stay here again given the chance!

Five-star review! The Hilton Haikou boasts an excellent location, and the high-floor rooms offer breathtaking views. The rooms are clean and comfortable, with well-maintained facilities. The breakfast selection is rich, including local delicacies. The hotel features a heated swimming pool and a kids' club, making it perfect for family trips. The front desk service is warm and professional, and check-in was seamless. It's also conveniently located for sightseeing, not far from Evergreen Park and Qilou Old Street. Highly recommended! 👍

Facilities: Spotlessly clean and uniquely designed, featuring a balcony with beautiful bay views. Changying Global 100 Fantawild Wonderland (First Entry Ticket): The park is a bit far, but if you have some free time, it's worth checking out. The overall environment was pleasant. I went during the off-peak season, which made the price very reasonable. Definitely recommended.

The room is spacious with a large sofa and a projector for watching movies. The hotel has a great location, very close to attractions like the Qilou Old Street, Yundong Library, and Century Bridge. The front desk staff are warm and welcoming, proactively upgraded our room, and even provided free breakfast. A wonderful stay overall!

My stay completely exceeded expectations; I have to give it a full five-star review! The hotel lobby was clean and spacious, and the front desk staff were gentle and patient, quickly checking me in. They even proactively gave me tips on nearby attractions and dining routes, which was incredibly thoughtful. The room was spotless, with no water marks or dust in the corners, bathroom, or on the mirrors. The bedding was fluffy and soft, guaranteeing a great night's sleep. The soundproofing was excellent; I couldn't hear any noise from the hallway. The amenities were comprehensive, with a stable hot water supply, high-quality toiletries, and smooth, fast Wi-Fi. The hotel's location is super convenient, so getting around and finding food was never an issue. The housekeeping staff cleaned daily and promptly, responding quickly to any requests. Overall, the value for money is top-notch. This will be my first choice for accommodation when I'm in the area again, and I'll definitely book it for my next trip.

The facilities in the room are very old. It takes 20 minutes to get hot water, and it's not very hot. The air conditioner in the room has no heating function. It's quite cold at night, especially after taking a shower. I covered the quilt with two layers of blankets to keep warm at night. The bathroom is very small. The bed is also hard and not very comfortable. But the view from the balcony is amazing. I stayed there for one night and did exercise and read on the balcony in the morning. It was a great experience.

An excellent choice, quiet, comfortable, uncluttered, and with minimal interaction. Check-in was very quick, and the young man at reception was great, efficient, and friendly. On the way back to the airport, he helped me order a taxi, for which I'm grateful. The big pluses include the view from the window, the ability to run in the mornings and evenings, and the washing machine and refrigerator. They made me feel right at home.
