If you are not driving by yourself, you can take a bus to and from the city in the morning. You will need to take a taxi at night, which costs about ¥2,300. The room is spacious and the open-air hot spring is really top-notch! But it will take a while to salvage the pool noodles.

It's inconvenient if you don't have a car. But as a ryokan, I think it's the best in Japan. It was great.

If you don't have a car, you have to take a taxi (about 20,000 to 25,000 won from Beppu Station). I went there prepared to not come out once I got in. It's so cold in winter.

If you want to enjoy the hot springs without being disturbed by others, I would recommend it, but there is no breakfast or dinner service, and there is only one vending machine outside, and the front desk closes at 6pm, so the hot spring water is too lukewarm late at night, so I couldn't ask for temperature adjustment. Also, the location is not a place I would recommend without a car.

You must use a car. I tried to walk, but the road is dangerous. I am satisfied with the atmosphere and the ryokan. The staff are also friendly.
