The hotel was excellent, the staff friendly, helpful and nice. The hotel was more than clean, the rooms, the beds (changed every day) and the bathroom too. There was the most extensive breakfast buffet imaginable. Kudos to the hotel.
All this was NOT, I repeat NOT, thanks to Trip.com who, despite the fact that we had booked a room with breakfast, made a mistake and did without breakfast. As a result, we had to pay 6 x breakfast (3 days x 2 people). Fortunately, the hotel accommodated us in this. When we complained to Trip.com, they kept insisting that we had booked without breakfast. Now, a mistake can happen, but acknowledge it and act accordingly and compensate the customer well and completely.
In the end, we received a NON-COVERING "compensation" of 31 euros (strange, randomly chosen amount).
I accepted it because it is better than nothing and I did not feel like sending emails back and forth and getting automatically generated answers with errors. Calling is also not possible because there was NEVER Dutch support. Although I will certainly return to the Best Western Hotel am Spittelmarkt in Berlin, it will probably not be through Trip.com again.
