I stayed here on my own for two nights from 30th July to 1st August 2024. I wanted a short solo break to recharge and see the Hot Ice show, which was amazing. What a find this place was! It has free parking which is worth gold nowadays as I feel ripped off everywhere with parking. The location is superb and just opposite a tram stop. I/we usually stay at the North End but this was a pleasant change and quieter. I love Blackpool and have been visiting since I was a kid and have stayed in some holes where I would have rather slept in a skip, the Norbrek and any Britannia hotel naming but a few on my top ten of horrors! So when I book anywhere in Blackpool I take a sharp intake of breath as to what is awaiting me! You cannot judge what accommodation is like by the reviews in Blackpool as the people who rate some must live in squalor at home. Mind you, the rest of the miserable UK is the same now, wherever you go, standards have declined to almost nothing. As I walked in it felt modern and clean, the reception staff were all smart, clean and very pleasant. In order to get to my room I had to walk through the restaurant and I immediately noticed how clean everything was, even the Venetian blinds, usually in Blackpool I can make a rug if I rub my finger along a Venetian blind! The windows were totally clean too. There was a lift which I was so grateful for as have a dodgy knee currently. I had a single room on the back. It was small but extremely clean and excellently laid out. Whoever designed those rooms had really thought of everything. I can cope with small and I can cope with clean if the facilities are good, and this room ticked every box. Very well maintained, a place to put my case, lots of drawer space, a built in wardrobe, a big window shelf to put everything in the bathroom and a superb power shower. The only thing that was lacking was a power point by the bed to charge my devices at night. It had blackout curtains which was a bonus. Everything was working and well maintained. The bed was very comfortable and even the pillows had zero stains on them and looked like they'd be freshly washed. The linen and towels were equally as good. The Housekeepers do an amazing job throughout and must all work very hard. I had fresh towels daily too. There was ventilation from two windows. I recently stayed in the new Holiday Inn in Blackpool and although it's high end you cannot open a window so I'd never return, the same for Hamptons by Hilton where I stayed, such stuffy, claustrophobic rooms, climate control alone should not be allowed, the bugs must thrive in those brick and glass sealed boxes. I returned with a very nasty Covid from both of those places over the last 12 months. I slept very well as it was so quiet. I didn't hear any noise from any other rooms. The staff here are brilliant, everyone I came into contact with were smartly dressed, clean (which is again a novelty for Blackpool) and very helpful and efficient. I read that there
