My wife and I were members of a coach party. On arrival after a long journey our first big disappointment was the queue for the antiquated 2 x person lift to our room. Then we had to try and find the room along confusing narrow corridors where the room numbers didn’t seem to follow and numerical sequence. Our allocated room was very cramped and had a view over the rubbish bins! We returned to Reception and were given the keys of room 109, a larger room, still no view. The receptionist told us that we would have to pay £20 per night extra if we wanted a room with a view - we were there for 4 nights and decided to ‘stick it out’. The lift to this floor was ‘out of order’ and we had to either climb the stairs (we’re in our eighties) or go to the opposite side of the building, take the lift there and negotiate the maze of narrow corridors to get to our room. On the plus side - the breakfast and evening meal were quite good and I enjoyed the food, the waitresses and waiters worked hard and were most friendly and efficient. The shower was good and there’s was plenty of hot water. Unfortunately, we all witnessed a rather unpleasant incident when a guest in an adjacent table had cause for a complaint. A young bearded man, ( a supervisor of some kind), was summoned and was quickly shouting loudly at this guest, he then roared “ Don’t you come back” at the guest and stormed out, slamming the kitchen door behind him. We all looked at one another in total amazement! I’ve stayed in dozens of hotels worldwide in my lifetime but never witnessed anything like this. This hotel is in dire need of modernisation, it needs a lot of money spent on it to bring it up to modern standards. The carpets and easy chairs in the public areas are well past their sell-by date. Would we stay in this hotel again? - definitely not!

The evening entertainment was blaring into the room through the walls and floor. Help to make up the family room sofa bed was refused when requested. Sofa was dirty and torn as pointed out at the time. Moved to a supposedly “quiet” area of the hotel to two smaller rooms (child had to sleep alone not in large family room) with a bin view with discarded mattresses/ junk strewn across back yard, rather than desired/paid for sea view. We agreed as supposedly quiet and were exhausted. Radio from the kitchen started blaring into the room from 6.30am (even through closed windows) so not quiet at all and woke us. Why is such a level of noise appropriate from staff working at this time of the morning when it can be heard so clearly in the bedrooms? Mattress squeaky and uncomfortable. I am so disappointed with our stay, £150 for one night was very poor value for money. Ruined our special occasion. Expected so much more given the south Blackpool quieter location and seafront. No acknowledgement received since I emailed my complaint 48 hours ago.

Me and my family have been coming here for years and we wouldn’t go anywhere else . The hotel is clean , the breakfasts are good and the staff are really friendly . Entertainment wise Johnny B was brilliant again and was nice to see Wayne again who remembered us from previous years. Already looking forward to booking next year . Thanks to everyone at the carousel !

We were allocated a room on the 3rd floor but we noticed straight away that the toilet was leaking. The staff were straight onto the problem but it couldn't be quickly fixed so we were moved to an alternative room which was more spacious and with a nicer outlook. The room was comfortable and had all we needed. We enjoyed the breakfasts and booked to eat in the hotel each night and were not disappointed- good food, and not too pricey. On our final evening i became ill in the early hours of the morning- we needed to ask for assistance and the night porter, Gerard, was excellent and did all he could for us, assisting in setting up a visit to see an emergency doctor at the hospital. We were grateful for his care and concern. All staff were friendly and helpful at all times.

I stayed here on my own for two nights from 30th July to 1st August 2024. I wanted a short solo break to recharge and see the Hot Ice show, which was amazing. What a find this place was! It has free parking which is worth gold nowadays as I feel ripped off everywhere with parking. The location is superb and just opposite a tram stop. I/we usually stay at the North End but this was a pleasant change and quieter. I love Blackpool and have been visiting since I was a kid and have stayed in some holes where I would have rather slept in a skip, the Norbrek and any Britannia hotel naming but a few on my top ten of horrors! So when I book anywhere in Blackpool I take a sharp intake of breath as to what is awaiting me! You cannot judge what accommodation is like by the reviews in Blackpool as the people who rate some must live in squalor at home. Mind you, the rest of the miserable UK is the same now, wherever you go, standards have declined to almost nothing. As I walked in it felt modern and clean, the reception staff were all smart, clean and very pleasant. In order to get to my room I had to walk through the restaurant and I immediately noticed how clean everything was, even the Venetian blinds, usually in Blackpool I can make a rug if I rub my finger along a Venetian blind! The windows were totally clean too. There was a lift which I was so grateful for as have a dodgy knee currently. I had a single room on the back. It was small but extremely clean and excellently laid out. Whoever designed those rooms had really thought of everything. I can cope with small and I can cope with clean if the facilities are good, and this room ticked every box. Very well maintained, a place to put my case, lots of drawer space, a built in wardrobe, a big window shelf to put everything in the bathroom and a superb power shower. The only thing that was lacking was a power point by the bed to charge my devices at night. It had blackout curtains which was a bonus. Everything was working and well maintained. The bed was very comfortable and even the pillows had zero stains on them and looked like they'd be freshly washed. The linen and towels were equally as good. The Housekeepers do an amazing job throughout and must all work very hard. I had fresh towels daily too. There was ventilation from two windows. I recently stayed in the new Holiday Inn in Blackpool and although it's high end you cannot open a window so I'd never return, the same for Hamptons by Hilton where I stayed, such stuffy, claustrophobic rooms, climate control alone should not be allowed, the bugs must thrive in those brick and glass sealed boxes. I returned with a very nasty Covid from both of those places over the last 12 months. I slept very well as it was so quiet. I didn't hear any noise from any other rooms. The staff here are brilliant, everyone I came into contact with were smartly dressed, clean (which is again a novelty for Blackpool) and very helpful and efficient. I read that there

Exceptional bespoke service - my daughter and I spent a wonderful one night break at this hotel. The staff were exceptional and very welcoming. Room very comfortable and had everything you need including brilliant hot shower. We have stayed in amazing hotels around the world and this was a truly fantastic experience. The evening dinner was very tasty Lyme good value and well presented and the breakfast exceeded expectations with lovely coffee pastries and cooked breakfast. Brilliant for pleasure beach and tram right outside. Bingo and cabaret absolutely amazing. A very memorable experience and well recommended.

We had our day on 21/7/24 and it was amazing from start to finish the staff was brilliant, very helpful and nothing was to ever to much trouble! We choose to have the ceremony and reception in the hotel and it looked amazing, the food for the wedding breakfast and evening buffet tasted incredible we had so many compliments about it. The staff looked after us so well and took away any stress. I stayed the night before as it was included in my package and because the hair dresser had to start at 8am myself and my mum was unable to get breakfast my dad mentioned it to the staff in the resturant, a male waiter bought up lots of warm pastries, toast and spreads for myself and the bridal party. I wont hesitate to recommend this hotel for any weddings to family and friends. The staff are a credit to the hotel.
