I stayed at Saunton Sands after Christmas and it was a really enjoyable visit. The staff were all extremely friendly and couldn’t do enough for us. The food at dinner was great and the hotel had outstanding views across the beach. The only thing I’d recommend is the hotel expanding or updating their wine menu as I struggled to find white wine I recognised/ enjoyed. There was a good cocktail list though. I would definitely stay at this hotel again.

A stunning hotel with spectacular views but what makes it special is the staff. From the restaurant staff to the reception team to the bar staff to the cleaning team and spa staff, all have been friendly and efficient and gone over and above to make our stay enjoyable. The food at breakfast and dinner has been excellent. The swimming pool, gym and jacuzzi pool with a view have exceeded our expectations. A lovely location to take walks from too. Fantastic. Thoroughly recommended.

Attended the xmas party night for the 4th year. Fabulous food, service and entertainment. The hotel is so well appointed. I immediately feel relaxed when I arrive. Can't wait yo go back.

Sitting on the top of a cliff you get great views across the bay even when the weather isn’t great. The room was well appointed and had a couple of easy chairs to relax.The facilities were good although restricted to 45 minutes in the thermal area wasn’t great as I like to use in the morning firtpst thing and then before dinner. The breakfast was excellent with wonderfully tasty poached eggs and plenty of choice. What makes this a great hotel are the staff. All very helpful and friendly and they all look like they are enjoying their work. We will be returning in the summer to make use of the outdoor pool.

We had a one night stay on the night of storm Darragh. I have written to the hotel but sadly no reply. We have supported various Brend Hotels over 30 years and this time unfortunatley found they couldn't cope with the crisis. On arrival I discovered after paying for a sea view room; in fact we were in an enjoining room of a suite as I was laid on the bed reading and a lady appeared in front of my window from the next door room on her balcony which was quite alarming. The power went off around 4.45 and we were given sandwiches instead of evening meal around 7 pm which were nice but no lighting so fillings were hard to see and the waiters kept saying they are turkey and cranberry; no they were brie and cranberry. The power came back on and a barbecue food type buffet was laid on which in our opinion not edible and really surprised the hotel even had this quality of food they were able to give anyone. It was beyond dreadful. We were given £25 each as a deduction though I was charged for coffee following dreadful meal so that had to come off. I do hope that Brend Hotels aren't going down some blind alley and this isn't going to be normal service. Nearly £400 spent on this one night stay.

A lovely hotel in a fantastic location. Very clean and welcoming. Should have been an amazing weekend. Room consisted of two singles pushed together but sadly at different heights making it uncomfortable. Bar service wasn’t efficient, started by taking orders at your table but long waits to get drink then it was order at the bar and a normal pub scrum approach. Very expensive drinks too! Restaurant service was poor, set Christmas menu but service very slow, waiting staff took a long time to take order and bring out food, kept forgetting what they were doing and asking us if we had ordered, what course were we on etc. it took over 2hrs, 30 to be served three courses. The after dinner disco was dreadful with a DJ playing some awful music and trying to ‘mix’ but failing badly, he didn’t seem to worry that the dance floor was empty, people drinking from glasses on the dance floor and playing music that was pretty much impossible to dance too. Overall a disappointing weekend, paid a lot of money for a special treat but sadly let down by poor service which this hotel normally excels at. Having said that the spa is lovely and I enjoyed a few hours relaxing in there.
