3-Star Hotels in Cairns North

The photos provided by the operators are extremely deceptive. The accomodation is old and run down. The shower tiles were painted at some stage, and it is now peeling off both the floor and the walls. The “updated” vanity basin and tap are poorly sizes and you are unable to fully wash your face due to the shape and size of the basin with a shorter necked faucet . There is no complete enclosure for water in the shower resulting in you flooding the bathroom each time you shower- we ended up using the common showers in the passageway to attempt keep our room dry. The toilet paper is only single ply so bring your own if you decide to stay here !! Our towels and sheets had stains on them and the pillows are flat and lumpy. I wouldn’t swim in the pool unless you’ve had your latest tetanus shots. We were followed back to the accommodation by a slightly hostile homeless person one night which was slightly unnerving for our teenage daughters. The nicest part of this accommodation is the outdoor BBQ area. The breakfast provided smelt ok, but we decided to eat at the cafe at the marina each day as we were heading out to the reef and islands anyways. We decided to stay here and save money as generally we are out during the day and only need a comfortable bed and a clean shower- next time we will be going back to our regular accommodation closer to the Esplanade. Very convenient location for travelling to the airport on my last night in cairns. Decent pool, easy check in and out. Room was nice enough and felt safe.

It is very rare to have a hotel of this price during the Spring Festival, so if this hotel can meet the basic needs of rest, in addition to additional facilities, it is really good value for money! First of all, the location of the hotel is a certain distance from the city center. It is a half-hour walk, but there is nothing to visit in the city, it is nothing more than a supermarket to buy things. Secondly, the hotel's facilities are complete, basic things are available, and you can rest well at night. There is also a kitchenette in the room where you can cook your own meals, which is really a bonus. Finally, because it is a motel, the service is basically absent, but the front desk staff are very enthusiastic, so there will be no uncomfortable feeling.

Because the room was set up late, it was settled the night before the trip. I thought someone would pick up when I got off the plane. It turned out that I needed to book one day in advance, and I felt very upset. However, the subsequent services, facilities, and breakfast were very good and the hygiene was very good. It's just that there are more mosquitoes in Cairns, so you can sit down and prepare in advance, or you can spray the insect medicine in the store. The pool was clean and changing water frequently (I saw the water change after staying for four nights). The attitude of the boss was very good, the keys were lost, and I rushed over in the middle of the night without any complaints, thank you very much! !!

I had the pleasure of staying at this Art Deco gem and it did not disappoint. The room was well equipped with everything one would need. Only a short distance from Cairns CBD with a great selection of restraints and bars. If you like character, good location, peace and quiet then this is the place to stay. I'll most certainly be back and look forward to seeing the end result when the renovations are complete. Cheers, Brayton Tomlinson

Once I got used to it (it took me a day or so), I liked the place! The manager, Mike, was laid-back, friendly and always very helpful. We arrived on a dark, rainy day and night (normal for the time of year in Cairns) and my first impressions of the accommodation were a bit gloomy: breeze-block walls (thankfully painted white), *****-lighting, a bit of a stale/damp aroma and sofa with black-tape repairs. However, for most of our stay we had sunny (and mostly dry) weather and it felt much better in the apartment and the breeze-block walls protected us from most of the neighbourhood noise. The apartment was clean and well-equipped. The cooker worked well - we didn't mind using matches to light the hobs. Good, clean toilet / shower room. The shower was powerful enough with water staying consistent at the chosen temperature. Very good value.

The hotel was very clean and the accommodation was very comfortable, especially the service was very good: I introduced the surrounding environment and the facilities in the hotel in detail, and finally called the taxi when we left the store. The fly in the ointment is that the room equipment is old, but it is relatively complete and clean, does not affect the use, you need to be mentally prepared in advance.

Because I want to transfer from Cairns to Bamaga, I booked this hotel. I am optimistic that it is relatively close to the airport, about 5 kilometers. The room is quite big, less than 30 square meters, and the price-performance ratio is relatively high. Overall it was a good hotel. Recommended for sightseeing. The facility was very clean and comfortable. I think the staff are very nice.
